    The enslaved minotaur is now viable on a chaos Dwarf team, compared to before when it was a big no. Chaos Chosen can take ogres as well now which is making me think for my team

    My favorite is Kroxigor as the best Big Guy. Personally do not class Ogre Team Ogres as Big Guys; you have a whole team of them

      Oooh seconded! This is a great idea for a top 5 list. My personal top pic is the Wood Elf catcher for random ag or gen rolls! Lets you built into a solid scoring or defensive piece. I also like the idea of rolling nothing but random pass for offensive throwers.

    So with the exception of the Ogre Team Ogre (and a loner 4+ troll, yes...) we Chaos Renegades got all our big guys from the top 5 list... and our ogre and troll mutate too. I’ve been playing a lot with the rat ogre now and I can assure that the guaranteed activation is superb and luckily I haven’t caused a casualty on my own team yet.

    Nice top 5. Not sure how often I would attempt the Troll's projectile vomit, as it effectively needs two die rolls to work: stupidity and PV itself. Risky! 5th spot seems fine (though Enslaved Mino here instead?). Mutated Rogre with the guaranteed blitz due to animal savagery could easily be at 3rd spot, with the Krox at 4th spot due to bone head. Ogre 2nd and at number one...the Halfling team's Treeman. Big, tough, reliable, the best TTM out of the box and also...a giant tree!

    I'm surprised the Chaos Ogre didn't get a nod here. An Ogre with claws certainly sounds like an intimidating prospect to me.
    The Chaos Ogre is probably the only player on my chaos team that will have claws, because he'll be in a good position to beat down AV 10+ enemies and he doesn't have very good skill access anyway. I suspect the rest of the team will just have too many other good skills to take to bother with nerfed claws.

    • @BoneheadPodcast
      @BoneheadPodcast  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Chaos Ogre is an absolute boss, but I had to give the edge to the Mino - it starts with Horns and Frenzy, it just makes a better death platform!!

  • @kunxion3712

     @The Bonehead Podcast: All Things Blood Bowl .... Could you do a video at some point that looks at the % chance where it would be more beneficial to use Projectile Vomit ahead of a 1D/2D/3D block against an opponent?
    Not sure how complicated it would be to work out the % once you start adding in skills like block, dodge, etc, to attacker/defender players too, but i'm guessing it messes things up greatly?

  • @garrhettroebuck8402
    @garrhettroebuck8402 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Gotta say the Projectile Vomit from the troll could really catch some low AV blodge players (Wardancers or ball carriers) unawares... that said I think the Mino kinda deserves to be third due to the fact that blitzing with a big guy (while awesome) is almost always better done by players with easier access to block, tackle, strip ball, and wrestle.

    • @BoneheadPodcast
      @BoneheadPodcast  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahhh Garrhett, you are right! Blitzing with Block is better, but less fun hehe!

    I'm partial to the OWA Treeman. He's got the option to get helped up by teammates, which is great. Also, if ST 5 is the best skill in the game, ST 6 has got to be amazing.

  • @mward5962
    @mward5962 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Uh, no Beast of Nurgle/Rotspawn? Sure, Tentacles are a LOT worse now, but he's still a [checks] Disturbing Presence + Foul Appearance big guy with a 50/50 chance of stopping ANY Str3 player from moving away from him when they try because they flub their FA roll. At 140k he's actually cheaper than several of the options you've put on the list.
    Also, I've always considered Mummies and Tomb Guardians to be big guys as well and the complete lack of Nega-Trait on them makes them incredibly reliable, their only downside is their lack of speed in the case of Mummies and Decay and no Mighty Blow for Tomb-Guardians (if you wanted to argue that no MB disqualifies them from Big Guy catagory I'd understand.) Plus both of those cheaper than a Mino or Rat-Ogre, but at least 25k. Not that this matters since you never have a choice between the two, but still. The Trained Troll though, at 115k? For Loner 3+ and Projectile Vomit? Is an absolute steal. That's the same price as a Flesh Golem or Elf Blitzer but it's a Str5 big guy who can either munch things on the line, throw up on Big Guys, break cages by tossing goblins or snotlings at it, or just rack up the SPP by tossing Goblins downwind looking for a 1TT. Trained Trolls, considering that the untrained ones are all the same cost, are an actual steal!
    Lastly, can we talk about Death Rollers? Sure I'm not going to make the argument they should be on this list, not with the changes to Break Tackle meaning they can't just step into a Cage and murder the ball carrier any more. But they the ONLY real source of fun to be found in a Dwarf team, and should be remembered.

    • @BoneheadPodcast
      @BoneheadPodcast  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha M Ward - I love all of that!!
      Deathrollers hurt me :( it makes me really sad they didn't drop the cost enough (or remove Secret Weapon) to at least make them feasible!!!

      @mward5962 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BoneheadPodcast Be fair, they were never going to lose Secret Weapon, they have to have SOME kind of nega-trait! A +2 to Mighty Blow over Dirty Player would have been nice though.

    • @RationalOrc
      @RationalOrc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think the beast of Nurgle is all that bad off. The difference between 58% and 50% is fairly small and more than made up for by the fact that YOU roll the dice, so your opponent can reroll YOUR succesful tentacles

    • @mward5962
      @mward5962 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RationalOrc Oh, I know where I've gone wrong, I was thinking of Shadowing, that's the one that got a big nerf. Yeah, Beast is still really good at pinning things in place and generally making things awkward. IF you can get him into the right place.

    I know Nurgle aren’t the best team ever, but where would you put the Rotspawn in this list? How far down??? I’m debating whether to pick one up for the start of my new league

    • @MarketResearchReading114
      @MarketResearchReading114 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For nurgle I think its an absolutely valid piece and well worth taking just for the option. If you play nurgle you definitely want to try one with the team. I'm gonna pick up nurgle eventually if I manage to tire out my current teams.

    • @BoneheadPodcast
      @BoneheadPodcast  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zom's right here! The BoN is a huge reason to play Nurgle - it's such a sticky player!! You can play without it - but it adds a lot of the feel of a nurgle team! Slimy feel...!!

    • @BoneheadPodcast
      @BoneheadPodcast  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did have it pretty far down though! It's a support piece rather than a dynamic smasher of things! It helps the rest of your team do their thing!

    @hampuskullberg9932 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That's a very nice leveled up wardancer you have there, would be a shame if someone puked on it ;)
    Edit: does claw affect Animal Savagery armor rolls? if so then claw might be risky for the chaos dwarfs ^^
    And btw the affect of movement 2-3 on big guys in 2020 will be less horrible since +mv is gonna be so much more available :)

    • @jellycubed3575
      @jellycubed3575 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the idea here is that you'd be putting your hobgoblins by it, so you wouldn't need to worry about Claw as much. Granted, nothing ever works out perfectly in BB and I'm sure there's some risk involved.

    • @hampuskullberg9932
      @hampuskullberg9932 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah they are a bit more expendable. Much more likely to get hurt tho (not considering claw). Might even make a +AV hobgoblin worth the TV ;D
      On a more serious note not always positioning is going to be ideal so sooner or later he is gonna punch a dwarf and might be good to know if its a 10+ or 8+ roll for the dwarf when that happens ^^

    • @BoneheadPodcast

    Disagree.....rotspawn is the best. Big guys can all hit and kill. Thats nothing to write home about, rotspawn can area deny against catch and pass, rotspawn is a giant wall of F-U against any low strength fast model (gutter runners) . He hits hard and has regeneration. When i chose a big one i want it to do as kuch as it can to pay itself off. Thats the rotspawn.
