- I've been concerned with Steelseries' lack of products to compete in the lightweight space but they redeem themselves with this amazing budget gaming mouse and keyboard! Let's see what makes the APEX 3 and RIVAL 3 so good in 2020. Enjoy :)

We agree with the comments. Clickbait wasn't intended. Title fixed!
There's also a typo now haha
@@Suzukaze_Tk where?
Hardware Canucks plz get back to me what dpi versions does the mouse have like as in does it have a 800dpi option
Because I play console Kbm and want to know if it’s has a dpi button that goes to 800
Ghost-_ - dude you can customize the dpi
Shouldn't the Title say "under $80" or at least "under $50 Each"... I think so !!!
i agree.
Yeah a little bit of clickbait
@Shankar Katragadda
No!!, but the title said they Did...
Yep this nothing but a clickbait title which is why I had to give the video a thumbs down, as I know this channel is better than these kind of stunts.
@Shankar Katragadda Actually yes it is possible
Just think outside the box. first goto Amazon, and for $27 USD you can get a Redragon K552-N 10 keyless (the switches are Gateron Blues, a bit loud, but are still good for gaming, and typing).
For the mouse you have $23 USD left to spend, and no I'm not counting tax because that varies place to place.
But if you are like me, and can't stand most mice, you can grab an Anker Ergonomic Optical USB Wired Vertical Mouse 1000/1600 DPI, 5 Buttons CE100 off Amazon for $15, and save your wrist because it's more ergonomic.
so that's a grand total of $42 USD before tax, and Amazon throws in free shipping if you buy them together.
All the young kids in the video: "Not mechanical? Yuck!"
Also me when I was a kid: "Not mechanical? Yuck!"
Me now: need a keyboard that won't bother others sleeping in the house when I'm working or gaming at night.
Ahhhh get the Kailh box silents
alpaca linears?
Yeah I have the keyboard and it’s def not mechanical but it’s not very mushy
I’m younger and I was using this keyboard for a year just built myself a whisper quiet mechanical keyboard was expensive but a very fun project and recommend if you get into gaming heavily like me and it won’t bother anyone in the house at night
Im a kid and I picked this keyboard because my cheap-ass microphone picks up my mouse and keyboard, so I decided to get quieter options
please more hardware for budget price ranges
"unfortunately it's not a mechanical keyboard..."
*clicks off video*
Noooooo! Clicks on the video back and listens to the switch sound test and all that water-proofness ;)
-D.
you gotta remember young zoomers dont remember what it was like to ONLY have loud as fuck mechanical's back in the 80's and 90's and its was annoying. I go out of the way and get quiet keyboards like the Razor Ornata Chroma
@@TarisRedwing You're very much out of the loop if you think mechanical equals loud my man.
@@TarisRedwing the Ornata Chroma is louder than most mechanical keyboard lmao
@@HardwareCanucks okay, just for you
I want to play EFT but I spent all my money on my first PC build. I am truly grateful for case and part reviews. They helped a lot ❤️
I have watched a ton of your videos and look forward to each one that comes out, but the title of this implies the mouse and keyboard together for under $50.00.
Redragon k35 with blue copy mechanical switches, $35. G203 on a sale, $20. Total $55, never regretted
Outemu Blues are better than Cherry. This is a consensus among r/mechanicalkeyboards users. Please don't insult your own keyboard like that.
I have Redragon Shiva K512 and i love it!
@@spidermain As far as I know they are neither Outemu or cherry. All I know is that they're super loud :D
@@Zicrixdoesart Really? What does it say on the switch top?
@@spidermain Huh, my bad it's a k552, and after looking, they actually are cherry mx blue, apparently. Hmmm.

Come on guys, you're better than that.
No they're not!
they fixed it and raised the price to under 100, it wasn't intended.
He's talking about the products individually being under 50 bucks
Extra 30 dollars boo hoo
I seem to have stumbled into (basically) this combination. I've been using the Apex 3 TKL version for about 6/7 months and I absolutely love it! The switches are great for gaming and typing, the RBG is vibrant as well. I've had a lot of trouble with different mice randomly breaking, so I've ordered the Rival 3 as it's a more budget option. If it's as reliable as the Apex 3 then should be a great pairing. Having been let down by much more expensive options, I'm definitely learning that the high priced peripherals are just not worth the money - it's pretty much all marketing and gimmicky nonsense.
I really liked the budget focused combo, what about a full budget setup? Monitor, maybe even the table and chair!
Would definitely look foward to see the setup you can come up with
This is how much I love this channel: I happily and willingly watch their commercials.
I have been spending way too much time playing Tarkov. Nothing beats that adrenaline rush.
When you said the Rival 3 has similar shape to the MM710 and the Rival 110 that explains why I felt so comfortable with the MM710 as soon as I tried it, even though I hadn’t used the Rival 110 in 2 years, I’ve gone through 4 mice and none felt as good as the MM710 or the Rival 100, and my hand has even grown since that
Nice keyboard, it’d be a shame if someone raged and broke it in half

@Vishnu Kalluri LoL! And not expired........ 🤣🤣
i just got the both of these i must say they are great budget products. For a casual gamer i would say perfect for a casual session .
This will be a perfect starting out setup for my EFT rig
the last non mechanical keyboard I've bought was also the best membrane/ dome based keyboard: MS Sidewinder X6 and X4. The CoolerMaster CM Storm Spawn was a cheap but great mouse back in the day as well. Now I can get a Logitech G305 wireless for $40-60 USD and would rather spend a bit more for the wireless aspect.
i just can't stand the weight of the mice like the g305 and rival 3. anything above 85 grams is too heavy to me
I have this I got it today it's a amazing keyboard also thanks for the review!
Kind of misleading and clickbaity with the title there, especially when the mouse and keyboard together cost $80.
Malko Gindrat shut up gamers only want performance not good looking stuff
@@malkogindrat they meant performance as in latency, quality of build, sensor, et cetera. in my opinion this isn't dull at all. most gamers who are casual prefer aesthetic over performance, unlike serious ones who like function over form.
Its under 100 doe
@@malkogindrat I am a gamer but I don't like RGB!!!
even though its not mechanical its still pretty satisfying and i love the video
Just a fair warning about the Rival 3 , it has this slippery matte finish that makes it really hard to grip onto. This can be detrimental when trying to perform wrist flicks or any precise aiming specifically in shooters. I much prefer the feel and grip of my Rival 100 .
‘Whisper quiet keyboard’
*click click click*
Quiet, not silent
Weird fact: my girls' Rival 110 with its worn stock feet has such a smooth glide it rivals my Model O's and MM711s Tiger Arc 2/G-skates glide as well. It's weird how well that thing glides. I've got no explanation for it either.
Rk61 keyboard and SS rival 3 now that’s the perfect combo
I've had the Cooler Master mm for about a month and it a cool mouse. I really appreciate the light weight and precision. I just wish the palm was a bit taller and the thumb buttons moved a bit further back. So the Steel Series might be worth a try.
I'll palm grip and lounge back for work. That's why I went with the larger Rival 310. It was just sitting in a drawer, makes a nice comfy daily driver for work.
For gaming, I'm using the XM1 and claw grip for FPS games.
@@chad_8313 yea, i am really thinking about buying a new gaming mouse bcs i have a razer deathadder elite from 2017 and yes it's very solid, well build, but it's not for me, yes i do have big hands, but i don't palm my mouse, i usually use a relaxed claw/ fingertip hybrid thing that i don't really have a name for, so what would u actually choose between: Endgame gear XM1, rival 3, MM710/711, if u have a better option than this please keep me on track.
Just picked up these two with a mousepad and it's so nice
The Logitech G203 Prodigy is also a very good mouse that is on the lighter side (85 grams), and it is only $20 on amazon, so a little bit cheaper than the Rival 3.
I actualy got the steelseries Apex 7 and Rival 600 for EFT and to complete my new Ryzen build. Have to say I love the Chery MX red switches, it's like your fingers are typing on clouds. Previously I used Alienware's AW768 Pro keybord and AW959 Elite mouse which I loved but the software is just not up there for use on non Alienware systems, and AW768 had brown khail switches comperable to the chery mx red's but needed slightly heavier force for precing, which was fine for me I actualy had to trein myself not to keep my fingers on the Apex 7 since I would accedently press them. This keybord seems comperable to something like the Roccat Isku FX which is also membrane and I used one for 4 years and realy loved the short travel distance and silent sound when using it in late night/ early mornig hours.
Misleading title I was expecting some sort of gaming mouse and keyboard combo for $50 or less not a keyboard for under $50 and a mouse for under $50 I was expecting both items to be under $50 together not individually under $50
You should try the MP510 mousepad! I get the feeling you’ll like it :)
got this mouse for $26, had rewards on my account that further reduced by ten dollars, so final price for me is $16. feels like a steal.
great camerawork bro
Nice to see more products like this!!!
g102 i say is the best mouse for the money for what sensor you get and its lightweight
Just wanna say that i always enjoy and love your review vids!
I've been waiting for this 😍😍
Those keyboard transitions during the sound tests were amazing lmao
Ok I'm loving these budget options! SteelSeries is doing great! But side note, Dimitri, how are you liking your Vertagear chair still?! I just noticed you're still using it after all this time!
6:20 cool transition
This made my decision to buy them. Thanks
I'm glad these companies are making non-mechanical rgb gaming keyboards. These are great for couples where your partner is a very light sleeper, and you want to continue gaming late at night while not trying to wake your partner up.
I wish I could buy their products for those prices - rival 3 is 40€ and apex 3 is 80€ in Europe.
Yeah, €80 isn't really great. Got mine on sale for €59.
For anyone complaining about the price, you can definitely get a $20 mech board, pretty basic but if you want to pay $50 that’s your best bet
It's not about the price, but the title of the video which makes it sound like they found a keyboard, and mouse combo for $50. it's nothing but shameless clickbait.
I just recently got these there pretty good
When he said take a listen for the mouse I got an ad for the aerox 3 witeless

razer deathadder elite - 25$, rival 310 pubg edition - 33$ on Amazon
I have always liked the look of Steelseries accessories, but I ended up going wireless with Logitech G613 keyboard and G305 mouse. I couldn’t now go back to wired.
@@malkogindrat I bought the G613 as an Amazon Warehouse deal. Someone had used it and returned it. When I got it, the battery was at 25% and it hasn't moved since then (2 months).
I'd been spoiled already by the G305 mouse. The battery in that lasted 18 months. Granted, I kept the report rate at 125Hz (plenty enough for me), but I use this almost every day.
What I like about both the G613 and G305 is they take a standard AA battery (one in the mouse, two in the keyboard), so even if I do run the battery down to zero, downtime is minimal because I always have rechargeable AA's around and if I buy a good Duracell non-rechargeable, I can count on 12+ months of daily usage.
No latency, good accuracy, good build quality, comfortable to use. I can't imagine it any better than this.
Just got my first mechanical keyboard (G Pro TKL)
So far so good!
I see why you guys like them
I have a $20 Apex 100 keyboard and $30 Rival 310 mouse for work. The illumination is lousy, but not needed at all at the workplace. It's also very quiet and easy to type on.
My old budget gaming peripherals are still nicer than that bundled junk that comes with the workstation.
Mechanical keyboards are nice, but need more $$$ invested to keep them quiet for coworkers.
The sensor is the most important thing about a budget mouse though, I don't care about rgb or looks. Comfort and practicality is where it's at.
Hey can u tell me the brand of ur glasses?
I think mechanical is overrated and is holding back keyboard design. Sure, after using a cheap membrane switch office keyboard it makes sense to praise mechanical designs, and they are great, but not the best we can do. I think good low profile scissor/butterfly switches like the old Apple keyboards are best in terms of ergonomics and looks. But there’s no subreddit to lick the balls of anything besides mechanical keyboards so our future will forever be stuck in the 90’s.
The keyboard sounds nice... I am a late night player and could use a very quiet option.
The mouse is not for me though, I guess it's because I stick with MMO's and single player games that I like the heft of my Razer Naga Hex and all of it's extra buttons. Ultra light mice like that just confuse me.
that kind of keyboard is meant to confuse consumer as if they didn't pay attention thinking it was mechanical and left dissaponted as they discover it was not
Very misleading title. Only the keyboard is $50.
Hi!
I have a question, what is more profitable to buy?
Razer ornata chroma or SteelSeries Apex 3?
Misleading title, seems like the video is about a keyboard and mouse combo that costs less than $50
very misleading, it's clickbait level misleading.
I bought this for $84 from my local Micro Center store while I was buying the last 3 cans of Pewdiepie Lingonberry G Fuel cans...but gawdayum this feel nice while I was playing some Bad Business, Phantom Forces, Arsenal, etc.
Can you change the Apex 3 keycaps?
Maybe $50 in the States but up in Canada the keyboard alone is $79.99
Yes Pal! EFT is the only think I play. And it will be till SQ42 & SC is released 😁 possibly another year or 2.
Hi Hardware canucks. Just wanted to suggest review of Nuraphone Nura headphones. Granted it's bluetooth and no mic? I think. But it's so unusual in my opinion headset that I thought it might be good review by you coz I don't trust anyone as much I trust your reviews. Is it possible to play CS GO I wonder. Keep on!
That keyboard is 80 euros in my country
Nice they made a mouse that wont spill some sticky glue in your hands. Pretty much the last 2 mice with sidegrips i bought from them does that.
Dimitry! Have you check out the Endgame Gear XM1 yet? I think you'll love the shape!
"These are not mechanical"
I'm out xD

Redragon cheap rgb mechanical keyboard > membrane keyboard from a big company
spongebob: *Aight Imma head out*
Aiyxu the RK61 is good too RGB,mechanical 60% and Bluetooth
I used to have the apex 100 and rival 100 they were amazing especially since I got the mouse for 15 on clearance at Walmart
please make a review on apex 5 it looks to be a very interesting keyboard especially switches that remind me new razer switches
How do u make the colors go faster??
I have the Rival 600 but with skipping track issues. Too bad because I love the shape and now it's just sitting on the shelf gathering dust :(
How's the Rival 3 mouse compared to the old Rival 100 or 110 mouse?
They need to make this mouse with their best sensor. I’d gladly pay for that
Saw the thumbnail and thought "Is that a volume wheel? On a compact mechanical keyboard?!" No... of course it's not... (I missed the under 50 bit, don't think it showed on my phone).
I don't understand why mechanical keyboards always have to be completely standard... or be this massively expensive oversized beast if you want to be able to control your volume without having to deal with shared functionality on existing keys :S
I have an apex M800, not long after the warranty ran out the clip broke on the bottom of the return key and they wont sell you new keycap replacements, also have now started to have issues with keys occasionally not working when the keyboard is cold although it fixes itself once its warmed up a bit.
Software is also a bit iffy, sometimes keyboard wont light up when you start the PC unless you hit a few keys then stop the steel series software running, then magically it illuminates as it should, has been the same through multiple updates.
I wont buy another Steel series keyboard if they wont even sell you new key caps and they are non standard so some people have resorted to 3D printing new ones.
My steelseries keyboard on MSI GT73 gaming laptop is also fucked up so I feel Your pain! Steelseries is shitty company
I don't know if I need a quiet keyboard or just get rid of my blues 😂
Lightweight mice often suffer from bad to terrible build quality and common problems (Glorious, Cooler Master) and SteelSeries is known for good build quality. They are probably still waiting for a solution.
Yeah, you need to fix the typo in the video title.
Title of this video is misleading. C'mon guys.
You broke my heart at "not a mechanical keyboard"... :'(. Sticking to my red dragon I guess.
In my opinion, the glorious model o mouse and apex 3 keyboard is the best combo under 100$
Iv been using the Rivel 3 since my roccat mouse died last year and now my roccat keyboard has started dying I just got this board to and man the RGB is so vibrant and the software is a million times better than roccat . I still have a roccat headset elo 7.1 wireless when this finally dies ( I think the battery is on the way out ) I'm going to get a steelseries arctis 5 to round out the set
can you review the apex 5? good video
Idk but a redragon kumara + Logitech g 502 sounds just a lot better
What if you don't want blue switches
Terrence Grant check amazon there are a lot of good options around $50
@@stellar0001 like? i just don't want a noisy keyboard.. i don't want to sound as if i'm knocking nails into steel metal plates

I´m still using Mad Catz R.A.T. 7 (bought in 2015) which I absolutely love & Logitech G810 (bought in 2018) - great couple! Won´t buy anything else until the hardware breaks!
These gaming hardware tests are nice to have but who actually buys mouse & keyboard every single time something new comes out?
dmitry noticed the fnatic react behind you! are you currently using that as ur main gaming headset?
It's 91 dollars equivalent in the UK for this keyboard 🙃 and 46 for the mouse... OOF
137 for both Vs like 80.. god I love the UK
Whats the difference between mechanical keyboards and non mechanical? I guess im new to the keyboard market because i just thought all keyboards where pretty much the same with the only difference being rgb and how quiet one is.
the switches, nonmechanical use rubber dome switches which once the dome is depressed is an actuation, where a mechanical has a spring and a post in a slot that once it passes a point is an actuation. look into some videos on the apple laptop keyboard tear downs to see what a rubber dome is like on the inside, and i know these guys have more than a few on mechanical keyboards
Hey so I noticed in your 711 vs Model O you only disliked two things about the Model O compared to many more from the 711, how come you still use that mouse?
How does this compare to the K55 + Harpoon combo?
$49 and not mechanical? There are some decent $50 mech keebs. Also I don't know if I'm convinced the Rival 3 is better than the Logitech G203 for $20 instead of $30.
is the rival 3 worth upgrading to from the rival 110?
Change the title.
Clickbait
it is under 100 bucks
There are plenty of good cheap mechanical keyboards for around 40$ and a lot of good cheap mice like the G102/203. This combo is not worth it at all.
I need a light large mouse, I use a Rival 310 now
EFT is extremely frustrating but do have it high learning curve but nice
I use the ambidextrous version and its really good being a lefty and it also comes with rubber grip sides.
