Jamestown and LSAM - Everybody Wants To Rule The World

- Jamestown is supposed to be launched on a Saturn V but there's no way it would fit in the fairing. There's nothing on how LSAM would've launched but id assume it was supposed to replace the LEM in a Saturn V but again, its too big to fit in the fairing. All in all I think I did a pretty good job and the mission is more exciting this way anyways.

Okay, I just want to clear something up since people don't seem to be reading the description. I know that LSAM and Jamestown where launched on Saturn Vs but I couldn't find an elegant way to do it so I went for the next best thing. Hope that clears things up and people can finally stop telling me that I used the wrong LVs.

Oh, finally! I wanted to find someone else who made a real-diameter sea dragon! Its really hard, isn't it?
haha yeah it was, kept on exploding during testing (this is actually my second iteration since i started over as the first one was too volatile), although i must admit its more like half diameter (since its scaled to Kerbal size)

Although it was never specified in the show I assumed they launched jamestown with the saturn 5, They mentioned using the parts for skylab for it.

I know this is inspired by that TV show, but that was loosely based on real plans.
The way I would have done it is to send two Apollo crews, one with LSAM and the other with the Jamestown Surface Station.
I know this would be insanely heavy, and I know that stock payload fairings would not like it, but I would just pull a sneaky and replace the S-IVB with a second S-II. That was another serious design, for going to Mars. Imagine using it for the moon.

I was thinking of sending two CSMs, one with LSAM and the other with Jamestown. Not for any particular reason, but I imagined docking two Apollo spacecrafts in lunar orbit as a temporary space station.

FUN FACT! In for all mankind, the original Jamestown module was brought up is a Saturn V. Every other module though was brought up by Seadragon, but I love this recreation of a rocket that was arguably the best one ever. And another rocket with some awesome features that was lost to history. This is me after going and reading the first comment. IM SORRY I DIDNT READ

i found out theres 2 things you got wrong, the sea dragon's escape tower isnt meant to pull the command and service modules out together and the lander is meant to be in the Saturn V fairing with the CSM, and its meant to do a 180 turn and dock with the lander inside the fairing, then pull it out
i know that, its supposed to be a csm but in my one its not, it made the most sense for it to be pulled out aswell otherwise it would be in the way. as for the saturn v, i know that thats how its supposed to work, i just dont have the time or talent to make a proper working unfolding fairing. anyways, thanks for the comment!

i see why you think that but youre wrong, they turn of in FAM but irl they wouldve stayed on
@@Salamander_co actually due to the design on the sea dragon the 4 boosters only stay on when its escaping the ocean and when breaking up stages because of fuel consumption(according to the creator) :)

Ich frage mich immer, warum dieses Lied abgespielt wird. Das Konzept der Sea Dragon stammt aus den 60er/70er, das Lied kam aber erst in den 80er raus. Das passt nicht wirklich gut zusammen.
(Ich spreche nicht viel Deutsch, tut mir leid) Der Song wird gespielt, weil es ist auch in "For All Mankind" (und in der Fernsehsendung es ist 1981) vorkommt!

I got one thing for you. I'm pretty sure the "lifting jets" or whatever they are that ignited after the sea dragon main engine, I'm pretty sure those don't stay on during the full trip to orbit. Otherwise This is very good! The music matches! Keep it up!
yeah ive realized that now, cant really do anything about it now though
The auxiliary engines help with orbital insertion and stay on for the entire mission.
