DevinDTV when you factor in transportation costs (which that analysis surprisingly leaves out), it most certainly is. I wasn’t even factoring the cost of the location. Seems a strange to include the entire cost of the location, when most music videos that film on the interstate highway don’t include the entire cost of producing that infrastructure in their budget. The average space shuttle launch is 450million.

Wayne Filkins You must be getting this guy confused with the guy who posted the original comment. They’re not the same person. Also, it wasn’t a correction, because it’s incorrect. Everyone here knows that Bowie is dead, so it’s not new information; he’s been dead for a few years now. But this video was made well before he died, and a quick Google search proves the OP to be correct, while the aptly named Retard Jinkr is wrong.

In an interview, this is what Chris had to say about Bowie:
"Bowie described my song as the most poignant version of the song ever done, which just floored me.
I think, for him, he knew he was ill - it was getting to the end of his life. He wrote that song at the beginning, when he was still 19 or 20, before we had even walked on the moon. He had always fantasied about flying in space - Starman, and Mars, and all that other stuff, and I think for him it was just like a gift, to have that song updated with the lyrics, performed actually in space, just a couple of years before he was taken.
To me that might be the best part: that he got delight out of my particular version of the song."

It's surreal coming back to this video years later after I first watched it. I was 14 when I saw this the first time, and I'm 24 now. This song has always had an impact on me, the Bowie version in particular but this one is the only cover I still listen to. It has this hopeful message that Bowie's version seemed to lack.
And now I'm older and I understand music and the message of the lyrics, yeah, I can see why this version kept me going all these years. There's a weird self-reflection that occurs when you go back to old music and realise the music hits completely different to when you were a child. I'm grateful. I hope this song never gets taken down. Thank you for this cover. I'll see you when I'm 34 in 9 years time. :)
