Well, it's very interesting that this planet has a few attributes that are synonymous for rectums. It has rings and a lot of methane. And deep inside, there are rocky cores. "Anus" comes from the latin term for "ring".. and Uranus could be spelled Ouranus, after the Greek god of the sky. I prefer the latter spelling, because i feel it is more inclusive.
I vividly remember a kid in my 10th grade science class asking who named Uranus. Our teacher's response was "someone who probably didn't have teenagers"

Just imagine how surreal it would be to actually find yourself submerged under the sea of this distant, inhospitable planet, somehow able to stare back up at the surface. Knowing you're in a foreign substance, in a foreign place, unfathomable distances from anything or anyone you've ever known. In a place that feels forbidden to humans, breaking this sacred place's unending streak of solitude separate from any eyes or intelligent life. You'd be the first ever to have such an experience. At least, the first human.
2:45 to me one of the scariest parts of this is the fact that you could toss all of the Earth in those clouds and you'd lose it. You'd likely never see it again.
How crazy would it sound to you if i suggested that Uranus can be terraformed and turned into an earth like planet only with 15x more living area and 88% of earth's gravity ?
@@reasonforlife214 I mean, pretty much any solid planet can be terraformed, no? But it would take so long that it's easier to just find a livable planet
@@Notmeggii you are almost correct. While having a solid surface definitely helps, that is not the only factor. Consider a world Like Io. It is terraformable but unless you go to the effort to drag it out of its orbit in a new one where the tidal forces don't make a constantly exploding world. But your second assumption is false. Unless we talk about projects like terraforming of Saturn or Jupiter, other terraforming like Mercury and Mars is going to almost always require less time than flying to a planet in another system. But even more important a technological civilization capable of interstellar travel is a civ capable of terraforming. Plain and simple.
Right? Seeing you approach this featureless planet, slowly being pulled in by its gravity while surrounded by the silent, empty, black void of space, is nine kinds of terrifying.
@@WobblesandBeanI would love to experience that. I adore being out in the middle of no where for some odd reason. My man and I went to horseshoe bend in Utah and we stayed past closing hours. 2:45 to me one of the scariest parts of this is the fact that you could toss all of the Earth in those clouds and you'd lose it. You'd likely never see it again.
I simply cannot comprehend something that big
@@Notmeggii same. This is the kind of paralyzing cosmic horror we're all here for.
All jokes aside, that part at 2:35 where there was no ground and there was just sky above and below you was scary af
This game in VR is scary.
Which game? @@42studios98
It was pitch black and the sound of a void in space was thrilling like I was being sucked into the Canyon. I wanted to stay longer but he felt a bit intimidated 😅
It got scary for me when he approached the 'ocean'
As a non-eglish speaker, i took a while to understand what joke you guys were making, i forgot about that one. Thank you for improving my experience with this video.
What makes you think we were joking? 😂
hehe lol
As a French speaker I can confirm that we too make jokes about Uranus even if in French there's only "anus". Here it's literally "your anus" haha.
