We have been coming to Aljezur since 2017 and take a 2 week vacation there in September every year. As a sports photographer, I love watching the surfers on the water and taking some good action pictures.
I lived in the Aljezur-Vila do Bispo-Sagres triangle for 3 years. Amazing times!! Also about Aljezur: there was an huge air battle during WWII in the skyes over Aljezur, with a German bomber shot down in the cliffs of Arrifana. Its an icredible and also shocking story. Its all documented and a book was published. Nice video, by the eay! Cheers
@@Larry-jh8gf Yes, it really shocked the comunity in Aljezur. The decesead German airmen were (are) buried in the local cemetery. Several nazi officials came to the funeral. The battle ocurred July 9th, 1943, and involved a German Focke-Wulf bomber attacking an allied ship convoy sailing off the Portugese coast towards North Africa. The convoy was escorted by RAF's Bristol Beaufighters that subsquently engaged in fighting the attackers, fatally shooting the Focke-Wulfe, which crashed near Arrifana with no survivors. In fact, several situations like this took place along WWII off the Portugese coast, but nothing compared to the Aljezur event. The book "A Batalha de Aljezur", by José Augusto Rodrigues, first published in 2004 and maybe still available in Aljezur Câmara or Junta de Freguesia, tells all about it, being reissued in 2013 (third edition). It also tells the story of the lighthouse keeper in Sagres being a spy working for the nazis, which used a nazi supplied radio station to inform the nazis about ship convoys sailing close to the Portugese coast. It's a fascinating story, althout tragic, but not too mentioned until the some 20+ years ago. Thanks for your comment and interest!
Lovely video, gives a great impression. We spent 3 days here and then six close to Loulé to discover all the beautiful south beaches as well. We’ll definitely be back! Thanks for your great work!
Hi I would love to get back to Portugal I've been to aljezur travel ed front pria da luz to see a family friend when we were on holiday very nice place but very windy maybe I will get.back one day love your pod cast
Thanks Steve. Yes but I suspect land could be cheaper there as it's more abundant. I honestly thought it was going to be cheaper, but you're right: supply and demand.
Great video. I'm seriously considering moving to Portugal for retirement (to get away from the cold winters of 🇨🇦). I'm guessing that winters there are pretty mild and sunny--I couldn't find any weather data on Wikipedia.
I am thinking of moving back to Portugal…..my country of birth. I was born around Aveiro, Coimbra. However, since i am a SKIER…..big time, i am thinking of VRDESA…….four hours drive to Sierra Nevada in Spain.

Wow!!! Thanks for sharing, João, that sounds fascinating. I'll try and Google that.
@@AlgarveAddicts Thanks Nick! Search for "A Batalha de Aljezur". Cheers!
Very interesting, the only battle in Portugal during the war. I didn't think there were any. Thanks for sharing Joao.

I do not understand why this channel has not grown into Big. One of the best if NOT the BEST TOUR/Travel/Relocation Guide/Vlog.
Thanks so much Wanju, I agree 🤣👍🏼

You're welcome Mark, glad you enjoyed your holiday!
Hi Nick, I'm enjoying the video.
Hehe, great stuff 👍🏼
Wow, shocked to see the real estate prices in Aljezur relative to Loule! Lovely video, thank you!

Thank you, Nick. It would be nice if you could do walking tours on other towns in the Algarve. Um forte abraço !
You made a good video Nick. Who wouldn't want a home in Aljezur? As far as property is concerned it's the same old story of supply and demand.
Thanks Steve. Yes but I suspect land could be cheaper there as it's more abundant. I honestly thought it was going to be cheaper, but you're right: supply and demand.
Algesur está na costa vicentina.Paisagem protejida, talvez por isso ,o preço,acho eu.saude para todos e vão com Deus.
Aljezur is the Arabic word for "The islands" singular would be "eldjazeera" just like the TV channel.
Another great video Nick 🎩👌 amazing ✌️
Thanks Miguel👍🏼

Beautiful area
It sure is.
Eu sou de Algesur.Gostei de ver .Obrigada.
De nada!👌🏼
Huh, interesting that housing is more expensive than in Loulé. Maybe there isn't as much of it? Or is there some other reason?
I guess it's because there are fewer houses on the market in Aljezur. I don't know really.
Querem os meus terrenos? Eu vendo os . Estão prontos para construir casa.

Eu tenho interesse, talvez para um vídeo. Enviar um e-mail para mim? nick@algarveaddicts.com
Very nice, but not very public transit friendly. For me, another long weekend spot.
Is it true that residential real estate of 400k Euros in Aljezur still qualifies for a Golden Visa?
As long as it's in a low density area. If you've found a place let me know and we can double check with my lawyer.
Carrapateira.
