  • The Algarve - and more specifically the stunning area surrounding Aljezur, on the south-west coast of Portugal - has always held a special place in The Surf Tribe’s hearts. It was after falling in love with Arrifana and the Costa Vicentina the we decided to organize our first surf trip there in the Autumn of 2019. This is where our adventure got started and every year we come back here, gather with the tribe and spend some months surfing and sharing good times.
Here are some of the good times sharing waves and experiences with guests and friends from all over the world.

Thanks to the Soulfarm Algarve family for the good times, the friendship and for being the best home we could dream of for our adventures in the South of Portugal.

Yep, you all have the right thing going on . Nice vid. The Algarve is a special place , i gained memories that will last a life time . Surfing 30ft Arrifana some 20years ago for 3 and half hours straight (on a 9ft local made board), and 3ft perfection at Sagres and so many more. And such lovely local people , yeh, great memories, really happy to see you all fully enjoying what you have there 👌

A lifeguard mate of mine discovered this region years ago pre internet - late 80's early 90's. He never used to tell anyone about it, he used to say that when he went there he'd be able to surf these beaches pretty much on his own most of the time. For some reason he told me and I went in 93. There were so few people, we'd go from beach to beach and might bump into the odd German here and there, but I hardly recall seeing any locals. Back then it was phenomenal.

What about the "localism" in Portugal? Are the local angry because I'm there? Or is it fine if you accept rules and stuff? How crowded the beaches are

Some beaches can be very crowded, some less so. If you explore a bit off the beaten track you often find waves with less people. Regarding the locals: treat people with respect, smile and respect the rules and you will be most likely fine!
