The Secret World Record That Revolutionized Tetris

A 1.4 million score was thought to be the last great boundary of NES Tetris, and after it happened in an unrecorded game, players scrambled to be the first to get it on video. One player did, and unlike the first one, his game would end up changing Tetris forever.

JD fully admitting that he didn't want to take the 1.4 with just a screenshot makes it even more legit feeling to me since he stood to garner that much fame in the community for the feat. But I also fully respect his and the communities decision to not make it the record.

Honestly thought you would talk about most points into killscreen. Always been an underrated topic since rolling has made it so pre 29 isn’t super necessary to score high. Even now it’s not really talked about. Though I do agree the 1.4 has been possibly the most hyped score achievement so far. It wasn’t a huge leap but still seemed so far away it took a new broken playstyle to conquer on video.
