    I want to second what a few other people have said , the gsx s 1000 is not for beginners. 250 /600/ 1000 step by step. Just my opinion ✌️

      a 2016 GXS-1000 was my second bike; started on a ninja 650. I wouldn't say it's a great bike to start out on. It's a little heavy, so moving it around could be a problem for some, and it has more power than most motorcycle. Just got my 2024 version and WOW!

      Definitely don't think the bike is the issue. I think it's the maturity of the rider. A 18yr old on a 1k is asking for an accident. A 36yr old guy with 3 kids at home and just wants something to get to work and cruise on the weekends are two totally different. Maturity goes a long way.

      as a beginner he has no right to be reviewing 1000 cc bikes for anyone he has zero experience

    Went to a dealer. Tested the gsx8s and was happy. Then he suggested this bike. Ok. Went fine. Found it easy, even more than 8s. Then later I saw the pictures I took. It was in A mode!!! And I am used to a S40/ls650. I want this. Easy to ride, boys and girls.
    Oh, and I my bike has nothing on this. Brakes, suspension, comfort is superior. Hard ride home....

    I bought a blue 2022 as my first ever bike in August of this year. Absolutely love this bike. The styling and attitude is awesome, the engine is truly amazing, and suzukis reliability and price is simply amazing. Could not ask for more. If I planned on doing touring, I would probably look at other bikes. But for daily riding, be it city riding or hitting the twisties.. I can't imagine a better bike. I love it. PS: Consider yourself lucky being able to ride at this time of year! Had to pack my bike away in October, and won't take it out again until May :(

      @@Steve_cash_Horrible first bike. Awesome otherwise, but not well-suited for beginners.

    • @walk4348
      @walk4348 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @URBAN ALIEN no, I wouldn't recommend it as a first bike. Maybe a GSX-S750 or Gladius if you can find one.
      Although this bike has lots of riders aides. It is probably too much power for a beginner. But it is an absolutely fantastic bike. I love mine. I also have a 2005 GSX-R750. I can ride this bike all day and still be comfortable unlike my 750.
      Naked bikes are the way to go. I wish I would have bought one a long time ago.

    • @k1mura92

      @@walk4348 I want to offer my opinion on this bike as a first bike, as I bought it myself. I'm 31 years old and have never had a single accident in traffic, and had the driver license for car since I was 20. I live in Norway.
      Reasons GSX-S1000 is suitable for beginner:
      - Well behaved and smooth engine with predictable throttle
      - Driver mode C and B can and should be used for more predictability
      - Easy to ride bike with comfortable ergonomics
      - Most people can get their feet planted easily, and it is not very heavy, i.e. easy to physically control at lower speeds
      Reason GSX-S1000 may not be suitable for beginners:
      - Big power
      I believe the GSX-S1000 is totally fine for a beginner who is mature enough to realize that traffic is not a racetrack, and humble enough to realize that they are in no position to push a bike like this to its limits. If you plan on mostly driving at the speed limit, and is willing to learn about what pitfalls riding a motorcycle can present, I think its a totally fine beginner bike. If you go from 0-100 throttle with lean on slippery surface, sure this bike will buck you off. But that goes for most bikes. This is an inline 4, not a V2, so the power delivery is really smooth and predictable.

      @BodyRocker9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@k1mura92 A beginner definitely would have to start in C mode with TC on for awhile. I own this bike and I think even B mode would be too fast for a beginner.

    I just got my license and my dad has one of these in his garage. He says for me to try it, its an easy bike and very managable. Im a bit reluctant because of the power and weight.
    Im 29, been riding 125cc since my 15th birthday and car license since 18th. Im a pretty calm rider.
    My driving school had a GSR600 and I really liked the bike and found it pretty easy to ride.

    • @Knobblytyressoggysocks

      You might be ok if you put it in c mode, which makes it more tame. Sports mode (A) I wouldn’t recommend for a beginner. It might seem and easy bike for your dad but I assume he has more experience than yourself?.
      Personally I went from 125, 650, 1000 took some advanced riding lessons along the way and made me a quicker, smoother rider.

    • @shedofrevs
      @shedofrevs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As below, I found the bike very manageable in C mode, and obviously using my own restraint and being smooth on the controls.

    I bought one in 2016. Got an unbelievable deal on it. Turned out to be my favorite bike on the track, as well as on the road. I’m sure there’s better bikes out there, but maybe not for the value you get out of this one. 👍

    Its not bad at all for a cheap budget bike. Lots of fun and super comfy. I have a new 73 plate in my collection, that always puts a smile on my face. Only achieved 170miles on it so far as its winter so looking forward to getting the first service out of the way so I can really open it up properly 16:21

      I am riding for the past 43 years and even my SV650X is a little to much bike for a start.
      I have also a 2023 GSX S1000 and a 2010 Honda VFR1200F and they are a way too much bike for a beginner the Honda being the worst from the weight.
      I started riding in 1980 with a 1979 Honda XL500S. Only around 32 HP and 300 lb but I still got in troubles 😁
      I think the best way to start is with something like my Kawasaki Z400. It is light , have plenty of power and is more forgiving than the big beast.

    • @shedofrevs
      @shedofrevs  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just because he power is there does not mean it has to be used, I have a Sprint 100 as my first bike and at 125bhp its great. Heavy old thing but has been a much more enjoyable experience and surer to ride than the smaller bikes. Depends on the mind set of the rider, you can get in trouble on any bike depending how hard you want to push.

    • @kermit8619
      @kermit8619 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shedofrevs It's all about the rider. If you start at 40 or 50 , it might be ok.
      If you start at 18 , it's a different thing.
      I know I was not ready for 150 HP when I started to ride 43 years ago at 19.
      You ride safe buddy 🙂👍
