I have the 2017 GSX-S1000 without the exhaust valve, and I can assure you that it gives 150hp. ECU4 not ECU5 like the 2022. My question for the channel as a new subscriber is if I can flash the original ECU to be able to install a quickshifter up and down. I loved this video as well as how disappointing it was to see that the new GSX-S 1000 gives 122hp. Thanks and greetings from Spain.
That thing you call muffler is a Cadillac converter, by removing that and going to a full high performance exhaust will bring at 5 horsepower back maybe even 8 hp.
@MooreMafia, This is the same bike as the GSX-S 1000F's and previous versions of this bike just different body work right? My friend had you flash his GSX-S 1000F ECU last year. Did they change the ECU's as well?
Found this: New camshaft profiles decrease lift and valve overlap not only to improve emissions, but balance the engine’s performance and drivability, enhancing rider control. That's why the top end it so low me thinks. 🤨
"....but balance the engine’s performance and drivability" That's marketing-speak for "we de-tuned it to please environmental regulators, and programmed the ECU to make this de-tuning function properly for the rider" If Euro-5 is so bad that Suzuki is forced to either increase engine displacement to keep/increase horsepower, or simply detune the engine, reducing horsepower and meet Euro-5 compliance, I think Suzuki being a small motorcycle manufacturer that doesn't have a ton of money to reconfigure an engine is going to take the easy way. Meanwhile Aprilia, Yamaha, KTM, Ducati, Triumph and others are bumping up displacement to maintain or increase horsepower while meeting Euro-5. I hate environmental regulations, as their purpose for existence is 98% a lie.
As far as I can see the 2022 and 2024 are the same bike. I just bought a 2024 and want an ecu tune after I buy a full exhaust. Can you tune a 2024 GSXS 2024?
his dyno was 10% off during this filming. 135hp is what they made stock. I have seen 150hp from other tuners. No way this thing made 125hp stock. Maybe he did it on purpose? maybe his dyno wasn't calibrated? 125hp stock is ridiculously off. In reality the bike made 147hp. I know mine which is stock has more power than my other 125hp bike, and a lot more power than a z900.
@@Jason.cbr1000rr It's a detuned K5 Gixxer 1000 engine. They purposely re-cammed it and tuned it to yield much lower horsepower for the Gixxes chassis, bur more usable torque for street riding.
@@Jason.cbr1000rr Because torque on a 600 and 750 run about 45 to 55 ft-lb max. These big displacement engines (relatively big) run 75-80 ft-lb. That's a lot more snort at lower rpm to shove you forward without the need to wait for the engine to scream. As an example, I took a 1250 Bandit out on a demo years ago. Before that tach hit 4,000 rpm that engine was SHOVING HARD, felt like the torque was bottomless, like I could twist that grip as far as I wanted and it would still shove harder, regardless of how relaxed the engine sounded.
How does the gearing of the bike affect the Dyno results? I know your comparing stock to tune on same gears but what if I drop 2 on front , how would that affect the dyno readings ?? Thank you for what you do Chris
I have both and the power difference is huge. The GSXS feels like a stump puller, super torquey; but the GSXR is a rocket! The GSXS is very comfortable, even after 3-4 hours in the saddle.
Stock 2020 gsxs1000 with 152bhp at the rear wheel after a remap. Stock exhaust, stock intake only remapped to cure the snatchy throttle. Suzuki dealer tells me the throttle bodies are smaller on the new one as well as lower lift cams and the revised exhaust for emissions.
Yeah but these numbers are still really low. People on the forums are pulling 148-150 from theirs and 2wheeldynoworks got 150hp. I don't know how moore got those numbers. A stock '21+ GSXS makes 135 stock. 125hp is just crazy. My 2003 TL1000R makes125hp stock. his dyno is 10% off on this. In reality it made 147hp.
This bike makes upper 140s rwhp in Euro spec (std), almost as much as they claim.....what's going on for US spec ? Not convinced with that exhaust - Chris, please find another with a well developed system - would be great to know 🙂👍👍👍👍
WHAT'S UP GUYS! ME HERE WITH ANOTHER COMMENT! AND I TOO HAVE DONE THE TH-cam PRESENTER COURSE! SO I SHOUT EVERYTHING SUPER EXITEDLY! LET'S CHECK OUT THE COMMENTS
Just curious. Do you happen to know if the 2005 GSXR-1000 cams will bolt into the 2022 GSXS-1000? 2022 GSXS-1000GT? Would be interesting to see if you get the amazing K5 broad power band and unlocked HP. Back in the day Superstock road race bikes were making over 190HP. They had to use stock cams with very little to no engine mods.
Don’t see why they wouldn’t fit . I have thought of the same thing , can you imagine the power increase. Don’t understand why Suzuki wouldn’t make a true super naked .
I'd rather buy the old version right now based off this. Old Gen made 150+hp and 80ftlbs. Thats a big jump between the 2022, unless you really want the Tech.
Full throttle by wire allows quickshifter up/down, which by all reports looks to be better than European brands for smoothness and precision. Lots of people whine about the lack of cruise control. Throttle by wire allows for cruise, so don't be upset about Suzuki going this route. Also makes it easier for shops to tune everything in great detail with TBW. Analogue vs TBW isn't where power is being sapped. It's the ECU, probably milder cams, and exhaust system not flowing very well.
Christ, my old K2 made 151 rwhp with 83 ft/lb with power commander, full akky and filter kit....a lot of money for about 9hp I would almost never use tbh lol
i have a 2018 gsxs1000. CA bike which means max detuned. I added a dynojet commander, heath F1 light eliminator, cut out my catalytic and placed a straight pipe along with an MP4 muffler, which is ice and loud, but saves my life when splitting cars . The bike still has a flat spot at low end which is dangerous when out street racing. they cannot legally performance dyno out in this state, so I need to take it to AZ to have it dyno and mapped to get rid of that low end. any suggestions? i noticed your dyno machine is from dyno-jet! I should have bought a cbr 1000 rr or gsxr 1000.
I wish it had been stone stock, those numbers are quite low baseline. Looking forward to seeing the GT tune and results. Suzuki did change the cams to help the midrange along with quite a few other new engine parts. From Rider Magazine: New camshaft profiles, valve springs, throttle bodies, and airbox, and a revised 4-2-1 exhaust contribute to a 2-hp bump in peak power, a broader, smoother torque curve, and Euro 5 emissions compliance. On Jett Tuning's dyno, the GSX-S1000 sent 136 hp and 73 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheel.
+2 peak power would put this bike at north of 150 wheel, if we are comparing to the ultimate ability of the engine compared to last-gen settings. I think the CS Racing is really choking it down, but I just don't see it being 10hp less than possible.
who is jeff? Yes, these baseline numbers are really low. Baseline from what I have seen is almost the peak HP this thing made after the changes. I think realistically, it made 147hp.
M4, Hindle, Brock's, and Arrow are the only MFG's making full systems so far. Lesser brands who don't have the R&D to get better flow characteristics would be places like Delkevic, CS Racing, and perhaps some UK or China stuff. Frankly, I'd rather go with a new XSR900 and get it tuned, exploring 118 whp, 412 pounds weight, the sweet bark of a triple, and plenty of torque at lower RPM and enjoy IMU, cruise control, quickshifter up/down, better headlight function, better styling, lower cost.
Please do a dyno tune of a 2018+ Honda CB1000R. I got a mail in ecu tune by you guys and it was great. Would be awesome if you can get one in for a video.
Not gonna lie those numbers make me sad lol I kind of wanted one of those bikes until I watched this. I rode a gsxr 1000 for 10 years sold it bought a road king. Love the comfort but really miss the power. I was thinking the gsxs1000 would be a good compromise but I’m not sure I’d be happy with it either.
Don’t let the numbers fool you, it’s a great ride. I had a 13 gsxr 750 woolich tuned, amazing ride. This feels same but stronger in more useable power on road with excellent comfort
How is it possible that Suzuki GSX S 1000 2022 Stage 1 or 2 is 163-165 hp, with a 178 hp GSXR 1000 K5 engine that with Stage 1 reaches 186 hp, and Suzuki GSX S 1000 2016 143 hp reaches Stage 1 170 hp and Stage 2 up to 184hp?

@@donaldwiggins7740 Good stuff. Looking around my area, there are a couple of new GSX-S1000GT bikes in showrooms, but next to nothing for the standard model. I've seen one GT in person and I thought I might like it more than I do. The styling is awkward. I'm not a fan of Ninja 1000SX styling either but I'd have to say Kawasaki has done a better job there. Can't say anything about the differences in function. Big question is, did Suzuki tune the GT model differently than the S1000 model? I've been combing comments and it appears Suzuki put a milder cam in the 2022 probably to pass Euro-5.
I own one of these bikes. The factory pipe is not very restrictive. I'd venture to say there is probably no difference in performance with just a slip on. The difference comes when you remove the cat and silencer box. They're very restrictive and heavy.
Could you have tried a free flowing silencer on it just to get data even if it didn't fit properly on the bike. It's only got to seal up not look pretty on the Dyno.
I just bought one of these and where I live the dyno guy didn't know what I meant when I said 'ecu flash'. He must have googled and can back saying he could do it but I would need a new exhaust because he couldn't get a good fuel sample from the stock one. Does that sound right? Also, do I need a full system or a slip on? Any recommendations?

I guess it still pays of to convert a gsxr to a streetfighter. At least you get the hp that would make the helmet emerge with the face. 130 ish hp was what we got from the first streetfighters 20 years ago.
This bike makes 138.9 hp with STOCK EXHAUST on the Dyno…. Somethings wrong with this exhaust system I was going to buy it for my Katana but now I’m not. Maybe it’s leaking.. I saw some reviews showing that the ends of the flanges are too long for the manifold and stick out too far causing leaking.
Crying shame. I was shopping and looking at these but not now. Think I'll find me a few years older gsxr1k and convert it to streetfighter. 133hp at the wheel is a joke for a modern 1k. When an 01 gsxr 750 makes 141hp at the crank, weighs 360 lbs dry, makes these numbers very low. So glad to see honest shops at work too.
Right and yet the mt10 puts down 156hp 82ft. Again, it's a crying shame. You can get an 08 gsxr1k for 7k or less. Exhaust, filter, quickshifter, dyno tune for another 3k tops. Push 180hp to the wheel. Still well under 15k msrp for 2022 gsx-s. Pretty cheap to convert to streetfighter from there.
It's almost as if Suzuki wants to give up bikes... My 2012 GSX-R750 puts out 138rwhp with an Akra system and PC. That exhaust looks like a Taylor Made and is probably as bad.

"....but balance the engine’s performance and drivability"
That's marketing-speak for "we de-tuned it to please environmental regulators, and programmed the ECU to make this de-tuning function properly for the rider"
If Euro-5 is so bad that Suzuki is forced to either increase engine displacement to keep/increase horsepower, or simply detune the engine, reducing horsepower and meet Euro-5 compliance, I think Suzuki being a small motorcycle manufacturer that doesn't have a ton of money to reconfigure an engine is going to take the easy way.
I just both same one 2023 hopefully in future come good choice of exhaust systems to bay!
My Z tuned by you would keep up with this
his dyno was 10% off during this filming.
Nice bike but I expected more like 140 hp, maybe needs an air filter and different exhaust.
Yah. I expected too
Why is the power like a all out 600cc or a 750 supersport when its a 1000cc sport bike??
When he did the 2016 GSXS 1000 F video it made 144hp with that same exhaust.
Man I miss my 06 k6 I never should of sold! As soon as you started this bike it sounded just like it.
it's almost the same engine
I have both and the power difference is huge. The GSXS feels like a stump puller, super torquey; but the GSXR is a rocket! The GSXS is very comfortable, even after 3-4 hours in the saddle.
Want it!! I got a 2016 but there's something about the 2022 update I'm in love with
Stock 2020 gsxs1000 with 152bhp at the rear wheel after a remap.
@@rm25088 dynos differ. Altitude and humidity can only be corrected so much.
@@UpsideDownFork yeah that's a big difference. He is located in a very swampy and hot environment.
i must have missed something here... but why is that bike ''only'' doing 133bhp when other gsxs 1000 stock makes 150 bhp ?
This bike makes upper 140s rwhp in Euro spec (std), almost as much as they claim.....what's going on for US spec ? Not convinced with that exhaust - Chris, please find another with a well developed system - would be great to know 🙂👍👍👍👍
I’d want to tune it on the stock exhaust. So many aftermarket systems are poorly designed and make less power.
Well-designed...like the stock exhaust system?
Don’t understand why Suzuki wouldn’t make a true super naked .
engine internals would need to be beefed up to be able to rev high and take advantage of the cams, which would substantially raise the price
these bikes have the same engine as the gsxr1000 ? So basically you can tune it to the gsxr power ?
Hi just purchased this bike want to send my ecu to you to have it flashed can a tune gain power when has a stock exhaust??
I'd rather buy the old version right now based off this. Old Gen made 150+hp and 80ftlbs. Thats a big jump between the 2022, unless you really want the Tech.
No electronic neutering for me , I like it analog
No electronic neutering for me , I like it analog
I just put 750 break in miles on my new gt. So glad I ran across this video. I screen saved their name and phone number. Calling them next week
who is jeff? Yes, these baseline numbers are really low. Baseline from what I have seen is almost the peak HP this thing made after the changes. I think realistically, it made 147hp.
That's going to be my Christmas 🎄 gift 🎁 to myself. I love the look of them.
Hah saw you grabbing those headphones at the final pull..that baffle didn’t reduce the sound as much as you thought!
Thinking about it Chris, there would be NO ONE better for Suzuki to ask for input about there bikes. Have they ever reached out to you?
Please do a dyno tune of a 2018+ Honda CB1000R. I got a mail in ecu tune by you guys and it was great. Would be awesome if you can get one in for a video.
Newby here I have question is it still recommended to travel using a remap bike
Those cs exhausts renowned for massive power loss I thought it wouldn't matter what pipe you out on but clearly it does cause that is drastic losses
Chris bro where I can find perfect mid link pipe for Suzuki gsx-s1000 2022. I want to change my stock exhaust to Yoshimura slip-on exhaust
Yeah buddy love the thumbnail 👆🤘💯🤟🦾🦾😎💯
Not gonna lie those numbers make me sad lol I kind of wanted one of those bikes until I watched this. I rode a gsxr 1000 for 10 years sold it bought a road king. Love the comfort but really miss the power. I was thinking the gsxs1000 would be a good compromise but I’m not sure I’d be happy with it either.
Don’t let the numbers fool you, it’s a great ride. I had a 13 gsxr 750 woolich tuned, amazing ride. This feels same but stronger in more useable power on road with excellent comfort
Go for an older model. 16-20
In case people wondered, the "older models" are scarce as hens' teeth in this modern used market climate.
@moore mafia will you have a cb1000r video soon? Would live to see what you can do for a newer CB1000r
He bought a budget sport naked and put a budget exhaust on it. Numbers don't surprise me.
I wanna do that to my 2021 Cb1000r
I had my 2018 CB1000R mailed ecu flashed by MM and its pretty good. I just want a video of a cb1000R getting dyno tuned.
Me too and i have the same exhaust...mine is louder though like waaayy louder
Man I know you and Mrs.Moore Mafia had a good time... y'all are doing the damn thing... and those guys should know your beer is Corona 💩... and you keep making them slow boys fast
That's GSXR 750 numbers! With a flash and exhaust. It's a 1000 that's crazy
no offence, your intro sounded like we caught you by surprise with you eating lunch XD
that tune on this bike is sick
Good day, i own a 2020 suzuki katana, do you happen to sell a tune for my bike? Installing header and intake
I'll drive 8 hours this weekend to bring my GSXS 1000 GT to get it flashed! Curious what it would cost tho
Not ready yet he said.
S1000 and S1000GT have different ECU. So far the S1000 has been opened and flashed. The GT is still theory.
@@exothermal.sprocket Lifted, my GT ecu arrived Moores, and he confirmed it was locked/different. Its on its way to woolich, and its going to be unlocked later this week. (probably Wednesday) so in theory, all US models with GT ecu, (exception maybe California) should be able to get a dynotune
I actually want someone too, because I as of now am unable to get my bike down there to see what it can do
So I unlocked it, someone else complete this journey for us! GET IT DYNOTUNED!
My ecu was sent off, and it is being unlocked mid week, after that you should be able to have your bike flashed, / dynotuned
I'd be interested in knowing how a completely stock exhaust compares. 🤔
We all wondering the same thing mine is completely stock would love to know what a ecu flash would do... 🫣
Any recommendations?
you need block off plates for the PAIR system. It effects the reading.
OG GSX-S1000 is the only liter bike I've ever ridden, and it's the only bike that ever scared the shit out of me. This doesn't seem far from something like an MT-09 or Z900 honestly
Yeah something is wrong with this dyno pull. Check out 2WDW. He made 150hp along with others.
I see you use 5.gear in the "before flash test", but after flash you use 4.gear. Is it because it is still limited in top speed even after the flash?
Why can’t Suzuki put the New Gxs- 1000 GT dash on it? that analog screen is terrible. That’s the one thing that’s stopping me from considering this motorcycle.
Wow that’s actually pretty pathetic I hate all these new restrictions
So basically anyone on a GSXR 750 like 05 and newer is gonna crush you on your brand new naked 1k
I’m sure glad I have a Bking sitting in the garage that’s a real naked sport bike this thing is a joke
Good effort trying to quicker it’s not your fault keep up the great work
hold on to that B-king, and if you are ever in need of cash, holler, I'll come get it. I been trying to find a well taken care off B-King for a few years, but the only I found they wanted 10,000, so I laughed and kept looking.
@@killdozer3464 lol I looked for three years then I came across one for $5200 the black one so I bought it

You dont even know what you are talking about. I have a 180 whp 1000 cc super sport and a 2022 gsx s1000. The gsx s1000 is a damn missle dude. It's not meant to be a top end monster intentionally. Think you are missing the point and taking numbers too literal.
@@mb7762 I was thinking same, peak is interesting to notate on any bike but what really counts is the performance between idle and redline.

MCN (UK) tested the naked gsxs1000 naked at 146bhp and the gt at 139bhp, both stock.
In one of Chris's earlier videos he mentioned that bikes outside of the US make more power.
have you done any gsx-s950 yet ? :)
Because Moore mafia tunning is not cheap!
why is the horse power so low for a tuned 1000 something is up with that exhuast like uu said
TRUNKS, LET'S GO!

I guess it still pays of to convert a gsxr to a streetfighter. At least you get the hp that would make the helmet emerge with the face.
130 ish hp was what we got from the first streetfighters 20 years ago.
Just purchased a 2015 GSX-S750, read up on the GSX-R making close to 150hp and the GSX-S only makes ~110, can that be just tuned to match?
I think those numbers are reversed.
So the cb1000r is making more hp?
is possible to make more power in gsxs 950 same engine ,only electronic system is diffrent?
Can you do pop and dang tune for this new GSX-S1000?
Can you do anything for a gsxs 750? I had an gsxr 750 a while back but the s is considerably restricted.
GSXS 1000 is my favorite naked
Crying shame. I was shopping and looking at these but not now. Think I'll find me a few years older gsxr1k and convert it to streetfighter. 133hp at the wheel is a joke for a modern 1k. When an 01 gsxr 750 makes 141hp at the crank, weighs 360 lbs dry, makes these numbers very low. So glad to see honest shops at work too.
Yo bro between the crank and the wheel there is a différence of 20hp at wheel u will have about 20 HP less
You should do a top speed run on all bikes you tune from now on.
Not many legal places to do that in the country.
@@unfree.radical not on the road but do top speed on the Dyno. Everyone is always curious what their theoretical top speed is.
