The greatest achievement of Mr Rupert Spira is not that he is one of the few that possesses all this amazing knowledge but mainly the fact that he has actually found a subtle an unique way to literally pass it to us.
These philosophical speculations are well constructed sophisms to fit the philosophical-religious doctrines of Rupert and others. The reality is that no one knows who and what God is. To say that He is Being, Consciousness, and we are one with Him would mean that we know from birth, as a pre-programmed instinct, who we are, what mitochondria or DNA is and how it works, and so on. But the Hindu religion, like other religions, has found "excuses": God sleeps through us and dreams, DNA or mitocondria is a dreamed illusion :) until God / we wake up and become aware and enlightened in/from this dream, etc. Let us then ask the great and enlightened gurus who have attained Cosmic Consciousness how many planets the solar system has or how an anti-covid vaccine is made through genetic engineering which is in fact God's engineering. Remember, Sars-Cov-2 virus is a dreamed object by God and/or us or it is the real Infinite "I Am" manifested into a limited form of a virus, or etc. :) Rupert said in another video that all objects are "I Am" = God manifested limited in forms (stones, trees, etc.). So, according to Rupert and other followers of this dogma, the bacterium Borrelia, which is a spirochete bacterium that causes Lyme disease (a torturous and long-lasting disease that destroys the social, mental and material life of the infected person bitten by a tick), before being qualified as a destructive bacterium, it is in its essence "I Am "= a "isness" which is God's being, and this manifestation of God in a finite form of microscopic and toxic spirochete bacteria is cleverly programmed to attack and relentlessly destroy another finite form of the same "I am", but manifested as an conscious, intelligent, spiritual, rational, sentimental man, which is the culminating work on earth of the same Conscious Being "I Am". I sincerely appreciate awakened people like Mr. Rupert Spira and others, but I agree with them to the point where a "prostitution" of reason begins to appear just to agree with a religious-spiritual-philosophical doctrine that anesthetizes the reason.

But the issue here is larger than the forms you speak of, even the devastating effects of Lyme disease and COVID-19 (you should check out the recent Instagram posts of Jeff Foster, another enlightened Englishman, who I believe just came thru a very intense period of dealing with Lyme). What Rupert is speaking of here (and in all his videos as far as I can see) is not a “philosophy” (a mental abstract) but actual experience. Grounded physical experience that we can (from a conditioned, Materialist point of view) see as outside our understanding and therefore unreal or abstract. No, from Rupert’s teaching point of view our usual way of seeing is the abstract, incomplete way. Rupert is genuinely trying to be helpful, a Bodhisattva in Buddhist terms who sees as his mission “coming down the mountain halfway” to meet our yearning attempts to climb that same mountain. This doesn’t put him “above” me but rather makes him the experienced traveler who comes back down the path to help guide “others” on their way. Does this make sense? @Al Garnier that's a great metaphor for the world and how we live our lives here. Kinda of dog eat dog. The rat race to survive. I guess we just need to decide if that's how we want to continue. There's some interesting stories about sages, yogis, mystics and saints who stop eating completely after becoming enlightened!
Gotta love Rupert. He's such a clear teacher. I was so glad to hear him refer to Lucid Dreaming. It's a good metaphor for how it feels to understand the "illusion" of space, time, and matter. The lucid dreamer both has a dream and wakes up in its dream. That person understands they are both the dreamer and the dreamed simultaneously. We say the same is true in our "waking" life. When you "wake up" when awake you realize you are both the dreamer of your human experience and that character simultaneously. What happens when you "wake up" in your waking state, commonly called enlightenment? You don't care less about your human character and other characters, and what appears to happen in the world. You love everything and everyone because you see yourself in everyone and everything, and everyone and everything in yourself. Very similiar to how lucid dreamers feel when they wake up in their dream. 😊

developing strength of awareness means gaining the ability to think thoughts and experience perception without losing self awareness - Ramana Maharishi
Carlos Gutierrez, for me, this physical reality (illusion) is the reflection of our consciousness. In addition, reality is not what appears to be or you are seeing, but it is what you think is going through your old and limited belief system, mindset, past experiences, traumas, etc. You are making up your own reality as you go. However, by becoming a more spiritual being, then you can create a different reality. In other words, your spiritual reality can change your physical reality into a better place, because you will use your intuition. No more dramas just unconditional love!
Consciousness is beyond all perceptions, intellectual, sensory, spiritual etc. But consciousness is also acting in every perception as its laws and ways. It has many sides, each sides of them are a part of reality, one side eternal consciousness, another side the laws that the conscious put within the physical, another side how many aspects and dimensions they have, then about perception. All of this makes up one whole
But here's the thing. An actor who keeps remembering his or her true identity during a play won't be able to achieve the kind of performance that an actor who loses him/herself in their role will. That emotions conveyed by such an actor will not be deep enough, they will be rather superficial. But someone who, just for that moment, truly identifies with their character, will be able to give a superb performance. They will, of course, remember who they are a few moments before they bow down in front of the audience at the end of the play, but when they are speaking their lines, they better forget the fact that they're John or Judy Smith. The whole theatre was built just for that moment.
Yes. My question is always the same. What does the fact that me knowing i'm not the character in the play changes ? I still have to go through it till the end. I'll use the Matrix analogy here. Neo knows the world is just a computer simulation but instead of us, he can get out of it. We are stuck in it until our death.
The beauty of the teaching is that there is room for it all. Identified consciousness giving superb performances, and disidentifying consciousness seeing that the most superb thing is self realisation. And everything in between.
By realizing that we are in a dream world, means that any suffering we suffer is not really real..so the whole point of enlightenment or realisation is to end suffering. That is why usually people who suffer constantly will develop dispassion towards life and head towards awakening.
Yes, he talks a lot of sense. I liked the metaphor of the TV screen and the film. I think Ramana Maharishi used this metaphor as well. Anything that happens is the activity of the self ( the screen) , there’s nothing separate from self.
> I don't unerstand anything. •Nothing to be understood. You are That . Just bring the attention back to that. ~>To what? •To that sense of presence that which you can almost 'touch' when you direct your attention on it. .. it just can not be defined by anything, for sure not the mind .. Nobody knows what it is .. not Buddha, not Jesus .. It's just the babbling of existence. You can call it Brahman, okay, it doesn't explain anything. If you think you know. . Careful, its just another aspect of IT... all just experiences, which expire. Sit daily just with what is, or better sit as what it.. just to bring the attention back. That's it. Nothing to be done about it. Bring yourself back to that sense of presence which makes all the experiences possible. As soon as the rememberence comes, be that, connect & stay there. That much we can do, we're asked to do actually. To say you are the doer is a concept. To say you are not the doer is another concept. What to do with Enlightenment? Enlightenment, what's that? If you want to do something.. do something that alleviates the pain, the suffering in the world. So..The best you can do is to be absolutly centered in yourself. But if you do nothing else than be absolutely present, you do the best for the collective. Come back home to your true nature... & let the external world take its course & if you're called to do something in it, do many good things, if not don't, just remain quite.
Yeah, now from there, the summary goes: a component that gives reality of any thing or experience is consciousness. Without it nothing is. That's why they say that the only reality is consciousness itself. Because of it, unreality is not even a possibility. Therefore, everything you experience is real. And noone can disagree that because you experienced it
can i make little clearer this for you? Its more like 'Objects are not Real, but our experience (not of them, because objects are just perceptions and perceptions are made of counsciousness and what can be real in counsciousness other than counsciousness?) is.'
One of the greatest teaching of Rupert: “No object exists outside of Consciousness” As a math teacher I would like to add that the converse of this statement: “No consciousness exists outside objective world ” is obviously false. Therefore it is not a biconditional statement.
I practice A Course in Miracles (ACIM) which is the most modern text of nonduality. Rupert has helped me tremendously in understanding the most difficult concepts. But don't forget that concepts are useful only to unwind my mind from egoic programming, removing the blocks to who I am in eternity and where I am forever. In other words, the Ultimate Reality is beyond all concepts/words/forms.
In mythology, the knight of the round table goes into the world to share, bring justice etc, but not for himself but in the service of the king, the self.
This explains why a personality can get the experience of psychosis or things we call psychiatric maladies. I suppose, even that has a purpose too then, even though I don't understand the benefit. I see both the illusion and glimpses of the screen. Love and light
Never understood how consiousnes was able to forget itself while mere mortals can trace it back. Then do the same thing all over but not forgetting the source.
I try not to watch the past or the future. The mind loves to go to the past or try to figure out the future. Past and future are like thieves who steal awareness.Enlightenment is to be awake. To be fully awake is when the mind is quiet. There is no mystery to life. The breath is the divine. Just sit and follow the breaths as you inhale and exhale. You can also follow the breaths when doing simple daily activities. This is not so easy because the mind loves distraction. Practice being awake. ZEN
In Vedantic teachings of Hinduism, when we say the world is an illusion, we mean that anything which is temporary is an illusion. The one which is permanent is real thing. An individual is born & dead, is just not there, appears illusion but life is reality because it’s eternal.
The squared circle does exist as an idea that can not even cannot be visualized. Nevertheless, these two types words “square circle” brings into existence the thought that contains the unimaginable concept. It’s kind of like the TV and the illusion on the screen. The typed words invoke “something” that is there, yet in-perceivable.
He tries to explain these very difficult concepts of The Upanishads very beautifully, but the problem is our finite minds can't comprehend the Infinite Sat-Chit-Ananda, the absolute Existence Consciousness Bliss...so our finite limited minds keep on asking questions. The Brahman, the scriptures tell us, can be "realised" only during Samadhi when the mind is completely quiescent and all thoughts have completely subsided. Only when Self realisation is achieved does the mind stop asking these questions. Hence Raman Maharshi repeatedly emphasized on the need for practice of Self enquiry or any other type of Sadhana( spiritual practices) as per Guru's advice.
the second part of the video contradicts what he says on other videos. he said that infinite awareness/consciousness is not able to experience finite mind/objective experience, but in this video he says it is possible.
So...when I feel nostalgia for my father who died 3 years ago, am I missing someone / something that only existed for a moment by the creativity of awareness?
Yes, that's right. And in the same manner you can be with him at any moment you desire by going inward, for that, that you miss, his presence is still here: i too lost my father 10 years ago and I miss him and can't hug him but I feel him just the same.
These examples make me think of the cuttlefish or the octopus and their camouflage. Like when the colors and forms are streaking along their bodies. From their perspective there is just cuttlefish, but from ours there’s all this dance of shape and color. Is this kind of what Rupert is saying here?
7:23: The difference between an illusion (real but not what it appears to be, like the movie and the screen) and something that does not exist (like a square circle). So the world is not non-existent, it is real like all experiences but it's not what it appears to be, like matter. 10:48: It's ignorance that disappears, not maya. The isness of all things is the screen of awareness. In all the forms of experience nothing is created, no thing comes into existence (cf: ex-stare), it's just modulations of awareness. Bhagavad Gita: "That which is never ceases to be, that which is not never comes into existence." 15:26: The wrong dismissive attitude of saying that it it's an illusion we mustn't pay attention to it (by-pass). These teachings, if not well understood, can lead to a life denying point of view. 18:17: Bhagavad Gita: "What is sleep for the sage is waking for the ignorant, and what is sleep for the ignorant is waking for the sage" = What is sleep for awareness is wake for the mind and what is sleep for the mind is waking for awareness. The question is: Can awareness remain awake whilst the mind wakes? They're not exclusive, that is called lucid waking. In other words, John Smith can play the part of King Lear whilst still knowing that he's John Smith. Thus awareness doesn't fall asleep whilst the mind wakes. 19:35: 1st step: Awareness falls asleep, loses itself to experience. 2d step: The tracing back to our self to our true nature of awareness (recognition) = Inner facing path. 3d step, the outward facing path: Awareness doesn't fall asleep in experience anymore but it remains awake to itself and sees all experiences as a play within itself, of itself, known by itself. Ramana Maharshi: "The world is an illusion, only Brahman is real, Brahman is the world."

It has many sides, each sides of them are a part of reality, one side eternal consciousness, another side the laws that the conscious put within the physical, another side how many aspects and dimensions they have, then about perception. All of this makes up one whole
thank you so much for the good questions and the clear answers.. so clear words are used. one cannot misunderstand.. love.
So when i awake, i am, when i dream, i am being!
What do you do when all people do is talk about the movie/matter/landscape?
Ultimate explaination respected master Rupert. Accept my bowing . Great
Thank you my guru..you are a blessing.
Thanks for the lovely explanation!
This really helped me! I wish I would have heard this long ago.
Gosh, Rupert, this is so clearly expressed. Thank you x
On PBS a quantum physicist used the analogy to suggest how quantum entanglement produces ordinary reality.
Such a clean and clear teaching
Thank you Rupert 🤎🤎🤎
This is wonderful stuff the last 5 minutes had me quite emotional
Very thought provoking, THANKYOU ❤️
As soon as the rememberence comes,
be that, connect & stay there.
So how did consciousness decide to divide itself ?
B A M blessed awareness manifested. My best friend would say mind your self. Now it pertains to THIS. Thank You from across the pound.
A little too wordy to be clear for me. If I had to summarize what he said: Objects are not Real, but our experience of them is.
Brad Stephan yeah, is the perception of the experience that makes them appear real
Its more like 'Objects are not Real, but our experience (not of them, because objects are just perceptions and perceptions are made of counsciousness and what can be real in counsciousness other than counsciousness?) is.'
especially when we hit our head on one. :)
Wendy S when that happen you will feel unpleasent sensation - experience of mind :D
He always has the prettiest flowers. 💐.
clean answer ,nice classy watch.
One of the greatest teaching of Rupert: “No object exists outside of Consciousness” As a math teacher I would like to add that the converse of this statement: “No consciousness exists outside objective world ” is obviously false. Therefore it is not a biconditional statement.
My first video here but not t last. Much love to you mate ❤️
Please put your talks and books on Audible, that would be perfect
SavageArfad I just like hearing the audio at any time
@@alfiedonut6452
Just use one of the TH-cam to MP3 sites and download it as an MP3.
Carl nah, I just love using audible because that’s where I have all my talks from people like Eckhart Tolle and Ram Dass
In other words, the Ultimate Reality is beyond all concepts/words/forms.
thank you.
Thank you so much!
Genius .... thank you for explaining things in the perfect way i can understand
He reminds me a bit of a younger Mark Rylance, especially his calming voice.
Hagen Daaz ice cream
Consciousness doesn't forget itself. There are many of Ruperts videos that explain this.
Really good questions as well
My favorite example is the sky. The sky is an illusion because it looks blue and soft surface but it’s actually just gases creating an atmosphere.
ZEN
Yeah practice and you will get more fully aware. Majority people are conditioned since childhood in endless thinking.. so the mind easily flips on.
I really enjoyed that...
Beautifully said.
Holy crap, this guy is a true master
Thank you. 🙏💝🌹
excellent speech!
Are you real
In Vedantic teachings of Hinduism, when we say the world is an illusion, we mean that anything which is temporary is an illusion. The one which is permanent is real thing.
An individual is born & dead, is just not there, appears illusion but life is reality because it’s eternal.
Thanks for this, very clear.
What dose it matter if reality is mind or matter? How dose this help us?
Paul Copeland very good point
The squared circle does exist as an idea that can not even cannot be visualized. Nevertheless, these two types words “square circle” brings into existence the thought that contains the unimaginable concept. It’s kind of like the TV and the illusion on the screen. The typed words invoke “something” that is there, yet in-perceivable.
I think this guy explains these stuffs better.
Great speech. Thanks :)
the second part of the video contradicts what he says on other videos. he said that infinite awareness/consciousness is not able to experience finite mind/objective experience, but in this video he says it is possible.
See for yourself😇
I believe everything else is an Illusion but us , We are the vibration of life, RARE
very clarifiying, thank you
Wow this is beautiful thank you Rupert John Smith Hamlet King Lear 😅❤
There is a phrase in Quran " when they die they will ask: who wake us up from our sleep?"
brilliant
So...when I feel nostalgia for my father who died 3 years ago, am I missing someone / something that only existed for a moment by the creativity of awareness?
Yes, that's right. And in the same manner you can be with him at any moment you desire by going inward, for that, that you miss, his presence is still here: i too lost my father 10 years ago and I miss him and can't hug him but I feel him just the same.
So talented...
Rupert are you a member of the school of economics? Your talks are wonderful. Geoff Taylor New Zealand
i do not negate the world,i see it appearing in Consciousness which is the totality of the known in the immensity of the unkown -Nisargadatta
There is the reality with all illusions included, which is also reality and your ability to see through the illusions constitutes intelligence.
These examples make me think of the cuttlefish or the octopus and their camouflage. Like when the colors and forms are streaking along their bodies. From their perspective there is just cuttlefish, but from ours there’s all this dance of shape and color. Is this kind of what Rupert is saying here?
Great insight
This is very deep
Nothing real can be threaten, nothing unreal exist
7:23: The difference between an illusion (real but not what it appears to be, like the movie and the screen) and something that does not exist (like a square circle). So the world is not non-existent, it is real like all experiences but it's not what it appears to be, like matter.
10:48: It's ignorance that disappears, not maya. The isness of all things is the screen of awareness. In all the forms of experience nothing is created, no thing comes into existence (cf: ex-stare), it's just modulations of awareness. Bhagavad Gita: "That which is never ceases to be, that which is not never comes into existence."
15:26: The wrong dismissive attitude of saying that it it's an illusion we mustn't pay attention to it (by-pass).
I would like to start doing mantra meditation, does anyone have any tips please?
I'm not much of a Russel Brand fan but I thought he did a fantastic little video on it: th-cam.com/video/vrISTSQv7YY/w-d-xo.html
I 💖 intelligent people. ✌🏽👍
Could you please put subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese?
