Regarding the ports: mouse, keyboard, mic, external sound/DAC and camera is already 5 ports. Then you might want to connect a phone, a usb stick or something else additionally. Add scanner printers, joysticks, a microcontroller you might want to program or whatever..
First time watching this, I have the Pro version dock. One friendly correction, when you make reference to the transfer rate you mentioned Gigabytes per second. This would be GB/s and not Gpbs, So the correct transfer rate is Gigabits per seconds. This is a huge difference since 1 byte = 8 bits. By the way I love the dock, the only I don't like is the DisplayLink driver for the multi-monitor setup but I am using a single cable on my M1 Max. And this is Apple's fault for not providing multi display support for these machines.
A lot of this dock doesn't make sense to me. With HDMI, and 2.5G ethernet, the price is leaving a lot to be desired. If it had 3x DP, 10 gig ethernet, and everything else then I could see it being worth it. Unrelated but great edit, only thing I'd change is your volume, you were a bit quiet.
I wish this was usable for a mac mini or mac studio. I need a dock this powerful. I WANT three monitors and my current mini doesn't support that but I'm looking at purchasing a mac studio. My desk is horribly cluttered because of this... the investment is worth it to me.
An Anker dock killed the PS/battery on my M1 MBA, and Apple blamed the dock and denied warranty and AppleCare coverage. Anker offered me a refund on their device. USE WITH CAUTION.
Yes, your editing is great. If you don't really need that thing, wink wink, giveaways are great enhancements to youtube channels to increase engagement, or so I have heard. Lol. Seriously though, nice video.
$300 isn't that high for a high-end Thunderbolt doc. Caldit TS4 / OWC 11-Port ... I'm sure I could go on and on. All of these are 3-4 hundred. Good Thunderbolt docs are not cheap. This isn't for me because it doesn't have an ethernet port.
These docks are way overpriced for what they offer. In an essence it is a TB3/USB-C dock. For one it is only capable of running 4K@60Hz which means that any high-res monitor with higher Hz (as most 4k monitors do) is basically meaningless. Basically it is an USB-C dock with an internal pci switch. CalDigit's TS4 dock is $380, but offers a ton more capabilities, including full-fledged TS4, meaning up to 6K compatibilities. The review itself is great and focusses on the right points. I just would have wished for it to address these issues as well
Your video editing is second to none, nice video ..
Thanks!

Thanks for the insight, definitely for a powerhouse user!
That Logitech Unifying dongle can just be one to pair up to 6 Unifying devices, saving you another USB-A port.
yeah not sure how one uses that many posts
$300 and no 10Gbe or 4k/120? Pass

Thanks for pointing that out!
Very cool! I have a triple monitor setup and use the same Logitech keyboard and mouse in the video! also looking forward to thunderbolt 5 hubs!
Looking forward to that too!
Can you do a review when plugged into an iPad Air M1 please

Not even 2.5GB ethernet, yeah you are right this is not for me, even with a Mac.

Appreciate it, I’ll look into doing some giveaways in the future!
Works with Mac Mini M1?

Yeah it’s definitely for a more high end audience. The IVANKY one does have an Ethernet port!

Thanks for the feedback! It’s definitely not a budget friendly dock, but it has its place in the market. Not so sure with the new M4 MacBook though
En Amazon dice que es un producto devuelto con frecuencia, no sirve.
Really, didn’t even notice that
It’s called a money grab. M4 now has multiple ports dongle are no longer needed.
Guess this isn’t needed for the new MacBooks then
