  • Welcome back to the channel, everyone! In today's video, we dive into the fascinating world of scale modeling with a close look at the V1 Reichenberg from Special Hobby in 1/32nd scale. Inspired by the iconic Reichenberg scene from the film "Operation Crossbow," I'll attempt to recreate this moment in a detailed vignette.
We'll start with an overview of the kit, including its impressive tooling with both raised and recessed details. However, it's not all smooth sailing; there are significant quality control issues, with some sprues missing parts and differences in the plastic's texture and finish.
As I build, I'll share tips and tricks, such as starting the cockpit assembly at step 4, using wire for cockpit details, and making adjustments for a better fit. We'll also discuss the challenges of working with this kit, including the poor fit of the cockpit and engine insert, and the modifications needed to replicate crash damage accurately.
Despite the hurdles, I'll guide you through the process of creating a visually appealing and accurate vignette. From dealing with subpar decals to customizing the base, I'll cover it all.

Interesting. I've built one a couple years ago, the review was published in the SAM magazine, and it was really easy kit to build. I've had no fit issues whatsoever. It only lacks a bit of detail that needs to be scratch built. So I am really surprised by your conclusion.

Excellent build of a difficult kit, however, Hanna Reitsch, was not a "bleached blonde" and she was severely injured in the crash of the V-1 , and in hospital for almost six months recovering, so it is unlikely she would have been casually standing next to the crash. Operation Crossbow was so " Hollywood inaccurate " However , overall an interesting diorama telling the story of a great individual.
