Thanks for sharing this recipe. My son brought Whiting last night. I never made it before and I saw your recipe. We all loved it and didn't even need Tartar Sauce. I used all the seasonings, but used season salt on one side and Old Bay on the other side. I seaoned lightly so it wouldn't be too salty. It was a hit and this will be our go to recipe. My son already said that he's buying more Whiting tomorrow.
Thank You so much for this video. I surprised my wife when she came home from work and saw dinner was ready. I added a fresh side of veggies. She was really impressed. Didn't take any credit, I told her I got the recipe from you :)
Trying this! I bought 4lbs of whiting because it’s the cheapest fish right now and haven’t dared to cook it because I drew a blank. Lol thank you so much
I made this last night. I did not have any seasoned salt, so I made it without. It was good! I'm excited to try it with the seasoned salt. Thanks for an easy, delicious fish recipe!
I always fry my fish and I’m starting to get tired of that. Plus I’m trying to stay away from fried food. Your video definitely helped and thank you 🙏🏽 #350for20mins
Not bad at all! Didn't add the garlic powder, instead added a little of lemon juice to the fish before applying the olive oil. Turned out great. The kids ate it up! Thank you!
Thanks for this video, very simple, easy to follow recipe. It was my first time cooking Whiting, and the end result was delicious. Have made these a few times since and have been varying the spices each time. I've started adding a wee bit if cayenne pepper & some Cajun spices to give it just a little kick.
Glad you enjoyed it, Kris! My friend adds Cayenne pepper to it and loves it! I enjoy a little "kick" every now and then :-) I LOVE Cajun anything!!! Thanks for love!
Thanks for sharing this. First time I've bought this type of fish and didn't know what to do. I am trying to cut out other proteins. Very helpful. Be well! ✌️
Looks delicious!!! I'm wondering if Whiting would taste good in a stew with potatoes, onions, and spices? My grandmother made rockfish stew and I'm trying to replicate.
I am baking whiting tonight and your recipe caught my eye. Very simple and ingredients on hand. I may have to cook mine a few minutes longer as they are a bit bigger.
Now see I love this when I do mine whether it’s baked or flash fried I do a sautéed onion and pepper blend with a light sauce that will send you to heaven and back haha🤎
YES "Southern Girl" I like and will be a new subscriber to give you a whirl on the dance floor. Love your recipe - never tried that before but will with Whiting I got today 😋☺️
I will have to try Whiting. Never had it I've had flounder and tilapia but I heard Whiting is pretty good. Can you fry them in a pan with some oil and breadcrumbs like you do with Tilapia?
Hello Southern Girl! I’m a new subscriber to your channel. I just took some Whiting out of the freezer. Needed a quick tasty 😋 recipe and yours was the first one that popped up on TH-cam. I know I’ll enjoy it. Glad to meet you and your hubby Lol 😆 Thanks again all the way from Maryland! I look forward to more recipes that I can try from you! 👍🏾
@@ThisSouthernGirlCooks Thanks! Now I have my REMINDER SET for your Quinoa recipe because I have some RED QUINOA in my cabinet waiting on a great recipe 😋🍽👍🏾

I have a bag of frozen whiting, skin on, fillets I got at the store for $2 for 2 pounds.alwaus looking for a DEAL. I had never had it before so it's been sitting there, I'm keto and can't have fried foods and all the recipes I had found so far say fry it. I was about to give up hope till I found you on Pinterest! I did open my bag frozen and it smells SUPER fishy, even frozen, is that normal for Whiting???
Hi there! There is a fishy smell to it but not very strong,in my opinion. It does have a fishier smell than tilapia. I hope that helps and thanks for watching! Please let me know if you try it! 😁

Growing up I didn’t care for when my mom baked fish. Hopefully my tastebuds have matured bc HEALTH. ☺️
Looks delish 😋 did you bake it uncovered? Pleas let me know, I would love to try this.👍🏾
I didn't on this batch. I have recently started to do so which helps with keeping the fish soooo moist.
Did you by any chance use the frozen whiting fillets from Walmart for this? Been eying those but wasn't sure if they were any good.
