Thanks so much - I just started and I went through a lot of intro DJ Courses and they were hard to follow - your's is amazing. Your method is really working to help me actually learn how to DJ and how the music can work for you

Another one to catch our new cdj users… if the tempo fader isn’t doing anything, check the Tempo Reset button…
    The fwd/rev toggle too 😂

Always show up early first a sound check if possible. It's not always possible or practical, but if they can accommodate you, this allows you to at least ensure their decks work with your USB, bring your laptop JIC there is an issue. I have plugged in a USB and both my USBs has errors. No idea why. The are formatted correctly, but I caught it early and just saved my playlists it again and it worked. If I wild have shown up that could have been a disaster.
At the least check your USBs on any CDJ before you head to the club, if possible.
But there sound check gives you confidence that their setup and gear are working as you expect. I typically just mix from one deck to the other using the monitors or headphones depending. You don't necessarily need to sound check the main system, but if possible, great

memories of bringing in my first track at +4bpm because I didn't check the pitch control. but for real bring extra everything! definitely your own link cable. extra adapters, headphones. I do this for me, but mostly I do it for other DJs. I've been asked so many times if I have an extra "fill in the the blank" ~ i even bring a cheap blank usb that I wouldn't mind letting another DJ borrow.

This is exactly what happened to me at a gig one time where the knob was not in the right place and there was no sound coming out. Luckily even though I had never used a pioneer mixer before I was familiar with setting up dj equipment and easily fixed the issue.

Woah such a great video. It's like synchronised knowledge from
The universe ✨💖🤩 this Friday I play my first gig in a bigger club and I'm super excited and nervous 🤪 the video about preparing for a club show would be great. Even tough I already have my overprepared playlist on my USB😆 thanks for sharing your experience

Low you'r videos mate. Its a smart tip to bring 2 ore more usbs. But it can be smart to bring a lan/link cable or just have one in you'r bag to.
In Europe now i see more and more shows/Djs have a short break in between each Dj. Is this a new thing or only over here in Europe ?
I love it to be honest. This way you not have to mix in to the other Djs music. And easc Dj get his/her applause 🙏

Hey Andrew great video as usual, I have a question for you. Is there any time or place for sync ? I ask this because I like to play all sorts of music together ranging from 120bpm to 150bpm, So If I try to beat match I just don't have the range to speed up a 120 to 150 without playing in wide mode and its near impossible to get them perfect 150.1 - 150.1. I learnt how to beat match on vinyl nearly 20 years ago so its not like I don't know how, and I'm only what you would call a bedroom DJ recording mixes for myself and friends. Love the channel.

Make sure instant doubles is not on if you don't use them and need to use hot cues.
