Ahh, invaluable demonstration video man! I got a different Nikki carb for my old mazda(s), but the main concept and mechanics match on many points, so thank you for your efforts and knowledge! Helps me definitely. Cheers from Hungary.
In my experience with these, close attention needs to be paid to sealing the float window. I’m not sure quite how, I’ve just had to keep gently tightening the screws when it starts leaking again, but the reason the metal bracket you have is bent from over tightening is because these are very, very prone to fuel leakage around that rubber seal. The factory installed carb on my car had one of the ears that the bolts thread into broken off by some poor, frustrated sod absolutely cranking the screws in just to make the bloody thing seal. Had to buy new carb bodies and try and make one good carb out of 3! Also what you pointed to as the electronic choke at the start is actually a fuel cutoff solenoid for automatic/emissions controlled models.
Hi, thanks for watching my video's, you are correct, it is not the choke but an anti dieseling device. thanks for pointing that out. Regarding the float glass, 10.49 min into the video a explain hoe to straighten the carb casing that was bent by guys over tightening it and 32.32 into the video i explain how to correctly reinstall the float bowl glass.
Hi, it should work, you will need an adapter to fit it, you would also have to make a plan with the air filter. We should have pan cake air filters available with that size opening.
Hello, just wondering I have a 32/36 that I want to run on a Nissan Inline 6 cylinder engine do you think those power valves should be closed and just jet it? It hs both the vaccum power valve and the other one at the bottom of the float Below is how I want to jet it. 6 cylinder Primary Main Jet 160 Secondary Main Jet 160 Primary Air Corrector Jet 190 Secondary Air Corrector Jet 180 Primary Idle Jet 075 Secondary Idle Jet 065 Pump Jet 060 Looking forward to you advise.

no, on the 6 cylinder leave it in place and make sure it works properly, your mains looks a but large but give it a go.

Hi I've got the same carb... My bukkie doesn't want to Rev up or idle... It stars revs up and dies after... You perhaps know could be the problem...
do you have petrol in the float chamber? of you do you probably have a blocked jet and/or damaged pump seal in the accelerator pump
