Aside from the incredible save, this wouldn't really be possible if this car wasn't so absurdly neutrally balanced for a hot hatch. Every other hatch including RS3s up until recently would understeer til the wall.
Good work with the save. I followed an Astra VXR through there a few years back and it ended up rolling several times on the ploughed in field. What happened? I can see the revs are quite high, did it hit the limiter and unsettle the car giving lift off oversteer? What drive mode were you in? (I have a GR Yaris with Circuit Pack)
I'm not surprised it's a nasty place to lose control! Luckily I got off with just some stained pants haha. I tried to carry too much speed and when I put the car in hard to the right I unsettled the rear end quite significantly. You can see the revs rise as the begins to slide as I had my foot fully in! 😬 It was 6700rpm in 4th as I turned in which puts me at 110mph. I was in track mode.
@@leekawey Its Goodyears equivalent, theirs not much in it. I've just had a look and good effort mate! Can I ask, how have you mounted your cam? Really good footage
@@StottyZr I used it in the back between 2 windows🤣 and it work for any car🤣 www.screwfix.com/p/cooke-lewis-straight-extendable-shower-curtain-rail-aluminium-chrome-1100-2000mm/6767X?tc=QT7&ds_kid=92700046986170840&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1245725&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9LnmzJeM8QIVDdd3Ch001Q05EAQYBSABEgIKdfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Where does anyone see a near crash here? For me it is a normal situation. A bit of oversteer counteracted by a bit of opposit lock. For me - just another day at the office... nothing to make a fuz about.
I don't think you were near crashing, you looked like you had it under control. Well done.
That's a lot of opposite lock 😁 Good effort with the save.
Well held and you stayed calm! I did very, very similar in my GR at Silverstone. Squeaky bum time!

No, it can be end really bad at the tire wall. In case of snap steer. Tire wall is so close.
Absolutely
Well done, drove the GR four at the nürburgring, such a fun and capable little car.
Well done buddy….that’s the the way to do it!
Mark of a good racer, driving at the edge while still have some form of control
Really good save!
I take it your not wearing them pants again!?
Good catch!
Think I clenched a hole in them, nipper valve was on full chat

Next time stay one the gas and drift it.
sweaty balls of steel activated
No luck, all skill 😎
I feel sorry for your pants
It’s easy but at that speed everything changes
Good save !!!
Very brave you didn’t lift at barcroft. Assume your car is standard with ps4s. What’s your quickest time on that day?
I'd say stupid not brave haha. I shredded the PS4S' at Anglesey so I replaced them with Eagle F1 Super Sports and managed a 1:38.55
@@StottyZr is that better tyre than PS4s? Thinking to replace with cup2 soon. 1.38 that is very fast. I did 1.41 in my channel.
