Truth be told, they did this with the NFL first. They showed contempt for the American fan first, and tried to bring OUR football to England first. Not to mention the NFL has 8 home games in a 16 game season (I think it's 9/18 now). The PL has 19 in a 38 game season. So the effect of shipping one regular season game overseas is actually more to the NFL than to the PL. All that said I still think it's a horrible idea.

Ridiculous idea. They want the big teams only. Let them have teams like burnley vs bournemouth (no offence to them) and see what attendances they have.

  • @matthewbryant958

So really they only want to have the big teams there, they probably couldn’t name every premier league team, more than likely only the top 6

Notice how he only pinpoints marquee fixtures, that is the main issue. Luton vs Burnley won't make the big money and as such this will never happen because it's unfair to all teams across the league.

We need to take epl games to America , two weekends in the league should be played in America , this will solve the issue of home/away , example Arsenal vs Man Utd in maimi , 2nd leg Man Utd vs arsenal in New York …. We already are used to international break … another two weeks wouldn’t harm us…. Plus’s more money for the league … please bring the games to America 🇺🇸 we need to watch it live

Just imagine, the biggest games in the calendar for Liverpool and United, where both stadiums are rocking, the chants, the passion, the taunts etc.. imagine that being taken away to America, where probably only a few hundred fans could afford to go to watch, with no diehard fans there.. absolutely ridiculous idea, and it must NEVER ever happen!! For us fans that's the highlight of our season playing our biggest rivals..

Give games to the Carribo Cup to lower teams that need the dosh, but no, they want that global draw. The Americans are more or less admitting their MLS is not a worthy product. Focusing on the EPL just adds insult. You can't relocate the soul of the EPL.

You wont get the same atmosphere that the fans make. If it was Liverpool vs Man utd, no way would it be the same intensity as it would be in usa as it is in England. It'll be more like a preseason atmosphere game.

Simon explained it clear and simple. The league just like anything when created has some parts. You take those parts off it would crumble. It wont be a league not to mention the league has an owner. I am not an expert in legalities of the sports but I can imagine you make a product you own your product. I would be curious to understand the details of the ruling word by word rather than the context. Is it leaving it open for European teams to play anywhere they want, then that's fine just as Simon suggested. No conflict here. but hard to imagine they'd be able to dictate to a league where they play their games. It's home and away, simple as that!
