North London derby not in London 😂
It’ll be in London City, Ohio
@@SamTurtonsamsamsam999 or London Ontario, as a compromise?
Premier League belongs in England. America has MLS
nor in England and not even in Europe!
Sums up the absurdity of it in just one sentence.
The contempt for English clubs fans is just outrageous!
The contempt for the English full stop.
@@BristolMatt Who gives a stuff about someone on some small insignificant isle.
Truth be told, they did this with the NFL first. They showed contempt for the American fan first, and tried to bring OUR football to England first. Not to mention the NFL has 8 home games in a 16 game season (I think it's 9/18 now). The PL has 19 in a 38 game season. So the effect of shipping one regular season game overseas is actually more to the NFL than to the PL. All that said I still think it's a horrible idea.
@@sohoartscafe Sounds like you do 🤣
The big clubs could fill a stadium in any country to be honest , there is plenty of money for them to make, so why are you English fans so pretentious? Nobody is saying your teams should move permanently ffs
I’m an American and I agree with Simon. EPL doesn’t need to play regular season game out of England. It will only benefit the promoter’s pocket and will take away from the home fan.
Whos cares if you are American?
LOL! Regular season
I’m English, 😂not PL games maybe FA cup games
Tf is a regular season premiere league game?😂
There's a summer "season" in the US... why would there be any need to ship any of these games in a *domestic league* abroad? If anything, make it easier for Americans to come to the UK to watch PL matches. It's an absolute rubbish idea. It's all about the money innit
This is absolutely insane. I’m an American premier league supporter and I DO NOT want to see this.
Same
I saw an advert for Americans only, living in America, for tickets in the Kop, flights and hotel. They had a block of them, so when will it start interfering with why people love the sport… the darn atmosphere from a knowledgeable and noisy crowd?
Such a disgusting suggestion. This is the same thing Americans do with their helmet rugby where a team can just up and move to another state, they should keep it.
Helmet Rugby 😂
Except American football and rugby aren’t the same.
@@StylistecS well call it American rugby then, cos nothing about it makes it football
@@libby4608 no. Do you tell Australians to stop calling for sport Australian rules football? Do you tell the Irish to stop calling their sport Gaelic football. All of these sports are under the code of football.
@@StylistecSit's called football because the ball is a footlong 🏈
Does Jim actually ever listen to anything anyone says or does he just repeat the same thing over and over?
Learn how devils advocation works. If they agreed, we’d have no convo (despite them agreeing)
He talks like a 5 year old child
@@robleeuknhl3345 .......that's an insult to 5 year-olds.
Please get rid of Jim white, awful presenter 😴
Jim completely agrees with Simon but can't say that because it would be really boring!! He's playing the villain for entertainment purposes how people can't see this is strange he's the Simon Cowell, of the football World
I know Jims's job is to play devils advocate as a host but that was a weak attempt...
😂 Bet he wouldn't support Celtic v Rangers in Bumfuck Nebraska.😂
@@hammerticthat's because nobody would ever put it in Nebraska. It's all about $$, not punishing the teams.
this is the one time one would ask Jim to check the lenses of his glasses if they are rose tinted, seriously.
Get Forest Green v Fleetwood to go over. They won't know the difference.
Shyaddup. The PL is huge in America.
😂
So you think we're so dumb?
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂🤝🏾
Agreed. It should always be a given that every team plays every other both home and away, otherwise one team in each of these games is forced to concede home advantage. The States (and everywhere else on the planet, I think) already get to see more football than we in the UK can due to broadcasting restrictions etc. You've either got to be able to get to the games, of take your pick between the few games that Sky etc choose to show each week.
Unreal. I'm an American and I do not want to see this happen.
I'm an American and I dream of going to England to experience the game how it should be. They should NOT have them in America. It would suck
Yes it would.
They can have a Burnley vs Luton 😊
It’s still will be packed
Leave Luton alone ya bollix.
Luton have been amazing this season , always a good watch
US sports are franchises, world football are incorporated into the towns and cities. Games that count would lose interest, and the game would suffer
Us sports have communities too don't be ignorant
I agree 110% - NO!!! Not a chance....
EPL games will not be played in USA, but what I can see happen at some point is a new separate cup or new separate trophy involving EPL and MLS teams, the finances for that might be too big for clubs to resist.
Lol as if you get a say 😂
I feel sick!🤮
Why don't they play an NBA-playoff match in China.
That'll never happen!
There will be riots just like when the ESL tried to be done if this goes ahead. Get stuffed! If you want great football in the states, develop your own MLS
I am sure that Leagues which are struggling like Laliga and Seria A will start it and once they find the profitability, epl will be the Johhy come late. Just like epl was reluctant to join uefa and European union.
@@tomodul2619you mean the leagues that have a new and restarted hooligan problem? It’s not going down well is it. This is really for Saudi and Qatar not American anyway. If United move a game over there, riots will happen
Who writes these titles? Not native English speakers presumably.
Thank heavens I'm not the only one who notices the title of the video.
Where Oh where are the English???
If they ever move United v Liverpool from being played at Old Trafford or Anfield, then I'm done with football.
exactly!
Teams will miss out on home advantage.
How’s the 39th game have any meaning.?!…..the PL is 38 games
Isn’t that what the PL summer series last summer was? Why push it further
Because the smaller teams don't get to take part.. what, do you only root for the big 6 to do well?
@@nhd6128 chelsea, brighton, fulham, brentford, newcastle, aston villa were all in the US last year for pre season, it's not just the big 6
@@matthewm3869 exactly, and I’m pretty sure the teams would change every summer, so if that’s not enough for them then they can continue with their helmet rugby
The nearest club to a franchise in England is MK Dons. They play in front of crowds of under 7,000 in a 30,000 modern stadium in a city of over 250,000. We hate franchises in sports in England.
Already the rest of the world can freely watch all the 3pm kickoffs - imagine they now get all the big games live too 🙄
This is ridiculous
Beyond ridiculous. Americans should leave football alone and face their helmet rugby.
As an American and foorball fan as a whole, I'll tell you right now that domestic league games belong in their own country. The fans here would never be able to create the type of environment and energy that clubs like Newcastle, Liverpool, Madrid, Inter, or the like have at home. I dream of going to England and sitting in the stands watching the top clubs play each other and soak it all in.
Give the Americans Sean Dyche and Gareth Southgate. The very best of English football.
Would Liverpool give up an Anfeild fixture to play in Miami? Hell NO?
Who cares what Liverpool would do 😂😂
If it was against Burnley? Yeah, why not. Give the lads a Miami vacation with a kickabout
Liverpool has American owners, so yes.
Stupid idea! Premier League is the ENGLISH league and should he played in England! The USA have MLS….
Who would be the home or away team? How do they expect fans to pay thousands to attend a game? I’m sure Liverpool or Man Utd would sell out a stadium over there, but would Sheffield United or Luton? Why should only certain teams be expected to go over there and not others? All 20 teams should play to the same rules and regulations. 19 home fixtures. 19 away.
Fans should seriously cause uproar if this is ever approved
To takeaway home & away fixtures against two teams is to change the premier league. Create a summer/pre season league is what they should do if they want it that badly
The day they start shipping competitive premier league games overseas is the day I genuinely stop watching the premier league.
I actually have no problem with taking FA Cup games to the USA. They play FA Cup games at neutral venues all the time. But you can't take an EPL game and play it in a neutral venue. The entire concept of the EPL is 19 games home, 19 games away. Whoever has the most points at the end wins. Playing a game in the US would compromise the sporting integrity of the league.
What can the season ticket holders of the home team playing in America expect, as a way of compensation.
Always thought it would be a good idea to play league cup games abroad at the start of the season
Can never ever let this happen.
And people criticise middle Eastern owners...
Last comment about Klopp 😂😂😂
They get preseason games already, to even request actual league games be played in America shows a fundamental lack of understanding and respect
Simon is 100% on point. The EPL is a sanctuary, an institution (as was the old Div 1), its ours, screw that lot! They only do these daft NFL games abroad because they want to expand that silly game into markets where only 1% of the population even care. You stick to your side of the pond and we'll stick to ours. If you want a few meaninglessness daft games in July/August then go for it! Other than jog on
Jim - Rich Eisen used to be on ESPN, and now does his own show...
Liverpool supporter in Tampa - I don't want official matches here; preseason tours are good enough. I'd rather go to Anfield during the season (although we DO have better weather hehe).
How many times have you been to Anfield? A change is good as a rest!
@@tomodul2619 been 6 times & visit Liverpool about every other year; usually in the summer. Playing the Cavern in late May/early June.
Get ready to change the game to "soccer".
You guys came up with it first anyways! 🤣🤣🤣
Soccer am and soccer Saturday. Eh the English coined the term in the first place
It's an extension of an ungrounding of everything, where anything and anyone can be whatever you want it to be, and for everyone. It's deeply insidious, because something or someone _is_ because in part of what it is not and whom it is not for.
Not a chance
If it happens it will be total disrespect for the supporters. They’ll have less games than before to see their teams all so the PL and clubs can make more $. All at the expense of the local loyal supporter experience.
Wrexham, Swansea, Cardiff, Newport,
I rest my flimsy and poorly thought out case
No EPL games abroad at all, especially derby games. I don’t want to watch us in the NLD play Arsenal in Cincinnati 🤦🏿♂️🤣😂
As an American fan of especially European football. I would never want to see a UEFA match played over here. We should have our own type of tournament if clubs want to come here and we can celebrate that. Simon is correct to point out that American football and baseball and basketball for that matter are tiny media ventures compared to the global reach of the beautiful game.
The “World Series” always cracks me up
If Everton played their home matches against Liverpool in the US they would not have any points deduction!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Home and away is crucial in an open competition which we don't have in the US. Playing league matches outside that construct is a ridiculous ideas. However if it was played near me I would go. But I still agree with Simon.
Pay these clubs enough and they will play anywhere, fans can watch on tv as far as the clubs are concerned
That means Fifa got paid ALOT......Such BS, Celtic/Rangers, Madrid/Barca, City/United, and so on. Those stadiums, the fans, the cities make those games unique, special. Playing these games outside of their respective locations is absolutely nonsense, it's all commercial. Stop selling your souls, identity for the almighty dollar.
hell no Pl should only be played in England
United should play their home fixtures in a world tour whilst the stadium is rebuilt
I do think la liga/Series A dropping to 12 teams, teams play eachother 3 times...one game at home, one game away and one game internationally would benefit those leagues, the premier league not so much.
Season ticket holders would be incandescent if the big games were played overseas. I can’t see smaller fixtures getting sanctioned, either, if for example Ipswich get promoted and a game of theirs is played overseas you would be robbing their fan base the opportunity to go and see it live, after years of being away from top flight.
I agree with Simon, a tournament could work but why stop at going to the US, why not Asia and the Middle East, setting up a rotation. But screwing with the domestic leagues isn’t going to float with fans.
Give them Palace vs Burnley they’d love that
So if a Liverpool v Man Utd Premier League game is played in NY, which club gives up their home game? Or do both games get played at neutral grounds? So now the biggest "derby" of the season for each club isn't played in front of any home supporters. Not feasible.
Will my season ticket be valid in the states
The only reason the nfl play outside the usa is because they need to grow the game, because they want a world cup style tournament
As an American I’d love to see English and European football in America just don’t let them play in shitty stadiums that are turf like MetLife for example don’t play there that’s where acls go to be torn
This is a ludicrous idea, but that doesn't necessarily mean it won't happen...
Maybe the League Cup final could be played out there...? Might add something to the tournament, and wouldn't be such a slap in the face to season ticket holders.
what happens to all the clubs supporters do the club take them with them and how many times a season
PL clubs already have busy schedules , this would just make it ten times worse .
I dont want it. Keep the home games at home!! I can enjoy it from my TV at 4 am from Cali lol
Dropping? What bizarre way to express this. Why not use "playing"? It's clearer. This must be the work of The Intern.
Simon is usually on top of it, but saying the NFL is out of energy is ridiculous.
It’s called the English premier league not the English American premier league. If they want to watch a game come to England
Ridiculous idea. They want the big teams only. Let them have teams like burnley vs bournemouth (no offence to them) and see what attendances they have.
So really they only want to have the big teams there, they probably couldn’t name every premier league team, more than likely only the top 6
Notice how he only pinpoints marquee fixtures, that is the main issue. Luton vs Burnley won't make the big money and as such this will never happen because it's unfair to all teams across the league.
Okay, so as an Arsenal fan, I dont mind this as long as all the "home" fixtures happen in the Emirates😅😅
We need to take epl games to America , two weekends in the league should be played in America , this will solve the issue of home/away , example Arsenal vs Man Utd in maimi , 2nd leg Man Utd vs arsenal in New York …. We already are used to international break … another two weeks wouldn’t harm us…. Plus’s more money for the league … please bring the games to America 🇺🇸 we need to watch it live
Just imagine, the biggest games in the calendar for Liverpool and United, where both stadiums are rocking, the chants, the passion, the taunts etc.. imagine that being taken away to America, where probably only a few hundred fans could afford to go to watch, with no diehard fans there.. absolutely ridiculous idea, and it must NEVER ever happen!! For us fans that's the highlight of our season playing our biggest rivals..
Jim answering the value question with a question. odd. The only similarity with the Super League situation is that fans would be outraged
Imagine needing a win to stay up on the last day and your players have to fly to uttah to play Luton at home 😂
I live in the US. Loved EPL & Spurs and I don't want to see EPL to host official games overseas. It is like you take the body away from its soul.
Why not play league cup final over there or something, will give a new edge too it which it desperately needs
I watch NFL and the only reason it comes over here is because outside the US no one else really cares, It's not like that with football. And lets be clear we haven't had the biggest NFL games come here like Ravens vs Cheifs but they want our big premier league matches? Get lost
😂 trust!! They probably don't even watch the Jags in the US, but we've got to have them here every year. Send them West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday and we'll keep our PL here
😂 Someone gets it, they have tried to make any fan outside of the US support thr Jags because the US don’t care about them, I wouldn’t even give them Wednesday v West Brom. They can have Forrest Green v Wrexham broski 😂
@@danielbriggs6482lol this is pretty true.
This is ridiculous.
Well spoken Simon!!
Give games to the Carribo Cup to lower teams that need the dosh, but no, they want that global draw. The Americans are more or less admitting their MLS is not a worthy product. Focusing on the EPL just adds insult. You can't relocate the soul of the EPL.
You wont get the same atmosphere that the fans make. If it was Liverpool vs Man utd, no way would it be the same intensity as it would be in usa as it is in England. It'll be more like a preseason atmosphere game.
Jim loves the sound of his own voice without making any sense
Jordanite = Top LAD Proper Clobber 💯 Facts
Gianni has just returned home with 8 suspiciously large and heavy suitcases.
Simon explained it clear and simple. The league just like anything when created has some parts. You take those parts off it would crumble. It wont be a league not to mention the league has an owner. I am not an expert in legalities of the sports but I can imagine you make a product you own your product. I would be curious to understand the details of the ruling word by word rather than the context. Is it leaving it open for European teams to play anywhere they want, then that's fine just as Simon suggested. No conflict here. but hard to imagine they'd be able to dictate to a league where they play their games. It's home and away, simple as that!
Give them the charity shield and then come back.
I would bet even most Americans who follow the Ptemier league wouldn’t want this. Personally I hate that the NFL puts regular season games outside of the US.
Only way to do it would be in April may with 2 clubs fighting for nothing top 6 can't be involved as they'll be fighting for Europe bottom 6 relegation so it'll be Palace vs Brentford in vegas
Massive fan protests if they try this. Worse than the super league idea.
Can't put into words how much I hate the idea of this
Goes to show he doesn’t watch the premier league when he mentioned Chelsea vs man United maybe 10 years ago mate it would be a big game
they have big fanbases in the US, they would be big financially
Jim White just doesn't get the point
Sorry but the associate football teams, especially the ones they would want to watch, have 60+ games each then the players have internationals to play...many more games than the NFL plays.
NFL puts some of their games in other countries....
As a American, I hate when sports team here go overseas and play. I don't want Premier League teams playing here unless it's preseason tour.
I know NFL players HATE playing in England/Germany.
Ridiculous. Only Americans can turn up with this rubbish.
Who even wants that? I’m not even sure the American football fans who really understand the structure of the Premier league want that. Other leagues might for the money but the premier league isn’t necessarily lacking there
people complain about saudi owners but they seem to have an understanding and respect for the cultural significance of the sport that american owners and businessmen do not
I could jus imagine a team having an unbeaten record at home for 2 seasons only to go lose it abroad😂😂😂
