They had to put down wilder as being finished to prop up Fury’s biggest name on his resume outside of Klitchko. In actual fact, Wilder has always been like this.
Wilder has always walked around the ring, backwards, thrown next to no right hands, looked old, not engaged remotely and turned up for a payday? Such a stupid comment. I concur wilder never had a vast amount of boxing skill, but he had speed, concussive, unorthodox power and a semi decent jab. Most of the top 100 could do what wilder did against Parker. Let's not let agendas get in the way of facts. Wilder is shot to pieces
@@mikeh5656 I hear ya. That was just a poor strategy from wilder. Later when he started to be the ‘old wilder’ it looked more likely he could land a good shot. That said he’s a poor boxer that has cherry picked to the title. He only fought fury the first time because he thought he was finished having seen his performances leading up. Wilder is rubbish. Any decent boxer would beat him. Even at this best. The only decent boxer he ever fought before fury was Ortiz and he was bloody 78 years old.
I watched it. There were 💯 empty seats and you coule hear the echoes in the arena for all the fights. Maybe it's just me. What did everyone else think?
Are Jim and Simon being daft deliberately??? Of course it’s a completely different atmosphere compared to the UK. Uk crowds have a whole plethora of Big Boxing events over the years, the sport is well and truly established, it’s a new market in Saudi Arabia, as we say casual fans, the Saudi Arabia fans are completely new to the sport, and culturally there’s difference between the Saudi tradition and UK traditions. The booze dose play a part in it, maybe they have a relaxed booze policy in Riyadh I don’t know, but I’m happy they keep the crowd disciplined and they remain respectful and sober
In Saudi Arabia, it seem really fabricated, it’s just fan boys of celebrities and sports men and women. For the Saudi people its fan boy moments, they will never understand and digest sport as it is in the UK. Football, cricket, boxing and even darts, its grassroots level and well established culture the fans are immersed into and love. Will take time, no amount of sports washing and pumping money can ever buys that. The 23 rd card seemed too inflated to me, overdose, could have been better executed, better execution and organised, no doubt it’s good for the boxers being paid well and matches being put on
Frank that was the best event, value wise, ever in the history of boxing, please keep them coming! I dont give a flying fuk who's in the audience if thats the value we're getting.

Why cant Frank Warren just be honest the fights were good the atmosphere was shocking and made the event a little bit boring. The crowd helps make the fight were the fights as good during lockdown with no crowd so Frank Warren seriously thinks the fights during lockdown had the same buzz about them.
I totally agree with Frankie boy here. I rather watch fights than what the crowd are doing. We have been crying out loud for some time now that big fights are not being made and the Best are not fighting the Best . The Saudi's are investing a lot of money into getting Big fights and the Best fighting the Best and we have talk sport being critical of this ? I just do not get it ? Surely due to the Saudi investment they are entitled where the fights take place ?
It's a bit pathetic in multiple ways tho...1. The only way boxing can actually get the best to fight each other is a Dictatorship bribing them? A place where forced marriage was legal and women were only allowed to vote a few years ago? 2. The atmosphere will always be terrible their football league is even worse. 3. The issue of the best fighting the best could be fixed in days IF the governing bodies made a simple rule change than boxer's have to fight opponents ranked within 10 places of their own ranking instead of taking bribes to allow people like wilder to fight opponents ranked hundreds of places lower than him for years or fury fight Ngannou

@@fearassassin5207 you'll refer to the thing you already said and that I responded to? Yeah, people did still watch boxing during the lockdown, and it was worse. My follow up question to you was "why have crowds at all now". If people don't care about them, it would be much easier to just hold a fight on a sound stage. It's because people do care about them. People who watched those fights during lockdown commented that it was weird and worse. The fighters who fought in those fights said they hated it because they feed off crowds. You don't speak for anyone. You may not care about the atmosphere, but that does not mean others don't. You can be perfectly fine watching a movie on your 27in crt in your dingy little living room, others may want to see it in an iMax for the atmosphere. It's a perfectly valid criticism of Saudi Arabian fights. Some people may also not want to look out and see a bunch of human rights violators in the audience. Or hear fighters licking the asses of war criminals in every press conference.
Hes bang on - the atmosphere is just so poor, it would be so sad if AJ & Fury wasn't in the UK and i dont think it will be - they should give something back to their fans, its not as though they will get peanuts
@@michaelrb9837 You'll find the fans didn't make either fighter, the fighters trained with their coaches and built themsleves to a point long before fans had any interest, they developed their talent over years to the point where people wanted to pay to see them so the fans did not make them. Saudi also pay flat fees before ppv revenue so that is not entirely true. Fans only pay a percentage of fighters purses and even then that doesn't equate to the fans making them, fans buy ppvs and tickets for their entertainment, if the fighter wasn't entertaining to them they wouldn't buy it, so it's a purely transactional thing. Get over your self entitlement.
Great event I was there they’re not a rowdy bunch but they did get behind it. Frank speaking facts Takes time they only just got big sporting events in Saudi
Takes time for what? Saudi only stopped forced marriage of children and allowed women to vote a few years ago...you think they're going to start letting their working classes go to sports or enjoy a beer? 😅
I loved the event loved seeing Jai Opetaia fight and seeing Dubious come full circle as well as AJ looking a lot better I couldn't care less about crowd noise! My only compliment is how late the fights started to get I think it should be way earlier and they shouldn't of cared about the football game
Great points. I was only disappointed in the lateness of the final fights. Was a bit ridiculous to be honest. But overall, I can only hope to see more mega events like this. A step in the right direction.
You should care what the fighters think. Many fighters said how much they hated fighting in closed halls during the lockdowns and their performances suffered because of it.
These Saudi events look pretty to the eye and they have created a positive impact in some aspects, we would have never seen Eddie and Frank working together had it not been for this middle eastern money, but yes the lack of crowd atmosphere is a big problem in combat sports where it goes hand in hand, it’s the crowd that gives it that big time feeling and can even influence how fighters fight in the ring, can you imagine trilogies like Ward vs Gatti or Bowe vs Holyfield with silence in the crowd? Lol, there were times in that big Saudi event where you could hear a pin drop even in the wilder and Joshua fights, it definitely is a problem but with so much money flying around out there I don’t see anyone complaining about it. What we need is a big vegas or Wembley fight to breath some soul back into the sport.
Would like to see AJ fight someone who will seriously attack him and throw some leather. Last three AJ fights have been pretty sedate in terms of pressure for AJ. Great that he looked good against Wallin, however, I would like to see AJ v Ruiz. Ruiz would come in fit and sharp in the third AJ fight and would seriously pressurise AJ. Frank has to accept criticism on the Saudi crowd and general atmosphere because there has to be something done about it. Losing his rag and mentioning that TalkSport doesn’t have to watch the fights and broadcast because Simon is questioning him is utterly ridiculous and dare I say immature on Frank’s part.
Agreed with aj but in fairness he was due to fight whyte that would have done that. He’s a top fighter and probably even better now if has found the perfect balance between boxing and punching
Simon is spot on with this one, there's simply no atmosphere that comes across on the TV, there was more atmosphere at Wolverhampton civic Hall with Tyler Denny as main event, fact

Frank Warren has got the patience of a saint talking to those two. 🙄
They had to put down wilder as being finished to prop up Fury’s biggest name on his resume outside of Klitchko. In actual fact, Wilder has always been like this.
You're 100 percent correct
Absolutely correct
Wow you're smart

@@paulfienga9466more interested in watching the fights than what the crowd is like
The atmosphere was garbage. Fact
It will never be a great atmosphere over in Saudi EVER. They don’t care about any of the sports they are putting money into.
Couldn’t agree more , was funny Simon being very quiet towards the end kinda think he realised he’s being made to look stupid 😂

Credit to Hearn for opening the door for boxing in Saudi - and saving the card with their fighters.
It was like lockdown fights in Hearns back garden
Why cant Frank Warren just be honest the fights were good the atmosphere was shocking and made the event a little bit boring. The crowd helps make the fight were the fights as good during lockdown with no crowd so Frank Warren seriously thinks the fights during lockdown had the same buzz about them.
"You could hear doors shut"
"One with an atmosphere" Simon is super hilarious 😂😂😂
At least we are getting to see some big fights now.
Come on the scraps in the crowds at York hall make the night.

@@combinhisheadpiece6717The fans made Fury and AJ dummy we pay their wages kid
Bricktop has a point, its more about the fights than the atmosphere.
Simon says he felt like it sounded like a lack of atmosphere then Warren disagrees with what he feels.
