They didn't actually own the 80s, they weren't around long enough. They had, what, two albums while they were at their commercial peak? It's too bad they couldn't get along because they probably would have been a first tier act for another 5+ years. But when they broke up it automatically relegated them to the nostalgia circuit.

Grandma plays some awesome guitar licks! Hard to believe I'm not listening to it at 19 anymore in Detroit. I was always made fun of for liking all girl bands.The video for "Simply Irresistable" had me playing it over and over again.
They can still hit the harmonies & play their parts. They're better than most bands I've heard from this era in terms of sounding close to what they were.

What's astonishing is hard the riff rocks on acoustic in the original recording. I enjoy the Bangles version more, and Vicki Peterson is an excellent guitarist; but Paul Simon banging that riff on 12-string accoustic is extremely impressive,
I just love it's the original four California girls playing on top of it. There isn't extra back up players or or musicians in the background. It's just the four still sounding and playing so well together! Oh, and having fun.
It's so great the just see and hear a great, great band without sparklers, rockets, fog machines, explosions and torches all over the place. Just good, hard played MUSIC done by wonderful performers -- The Bangles! Thanks ladies!
True garage band sound. Keep it simple and rock it. That's the way it should be. They all played well and sound great. All four of these ladies are in their 60's. I've seen a lot of old bands who didn't need to keep playing in public. These ladies NEED TO keep playing. Great job.

Most ppl don't even know that this is a Simon & Garfunkel song that came out in the late 60s. I saw S&G in 2004, and they sounded so damn good and were so spot on it was amazing. You don't hear much of them today even with all the nostalgia, but to me they are up there with the best of them for their era.
The Bangles were a band, for sure. When I first saw them in the early ‘80s, Go-Go’s were all the rage (and now in the RnR HoF). But their singular talent was Jane Wiedlin; not so, the Bangles, who were-a BAND!
*SUCH* a great little band. I feel like the music industry chewed them up in the late 80s, but at their peak they were wonderful. Check out their instrumental "Bitchen Summer" which rocks in a very similar way to this track.

You would appreciate them even more now, after all these year when most people forgot about them or didn't take them seriously as a live band. I am one of those people and glad I was wrong... :) Maybe because they were marketed as a sexy band, like most female bands and artists nowadays, but they proved they can play.
It is nice they finally stabzlized the bass player since Steele left. Now they are back with Annette Zilinskas who started with the band before Michael "Micki" Steele. Annette has been playing with them since 2018 and even though she does not sing, her bass playing is on point.
Susanna Hoffs is 60 years old at this performance. SIXTY. YEARS. OLD. How? Just...how? And the best part is, the whole band hasn't lost a damn step in forty years. That's unreal.
I would say she is even more beautiful now 😳, it defies logic! Such elegance poise and actitud. She is a close second to Audrey Hepburn, the most beautiful women to have lived. A true lady ❤
