That was an amazing live performance. They can all still play and sing. I was even impressed with Annette coming back after 30 years away from the band a few years ago. She does a solid job. They still have amazing chemistry. Hard to believe these ladies are in their 60's now and still doing it so well.
Girls still smiling at each other and playing with one another. You know they had to know how special this was. Same four that founded the band and had their first concert 39 years earlier. Very few bands get to keep playing that long afterwards.
The drummer and bass player are a great rhythm section. Every song they are solid. I loved the bass line on that one song, that sounds a lot like the Beatles "Taxman". The harmonies were also great. She's the best bass player I've seen the Bangles have, since Micki left.
Great Concert! The drummer and bass player are damn good. Anyone that knows about how important a rhythm section is. Every song, they are on it! I think Vicki said the bass player is the original one that started the band with them. I guess they have some kind of chemistry there. The harmonies still sound amazing. Not bad for all these ladies being in their 60's. A very underrated and underappreciated band. I hope they get their day in the light soon. It doesn't look like they've played since and since they asked their founding bass player back for this; you have to wonder if this will be the final Bangles concert in history. If so, they did great.
Bangles have always had great bass players. Micki Steel, Annette, and even Derrick Anderson when he was filling in. Debbi is just a gold standard on drums!
They all sounded and played so good. Might be my favorite concert since Micki left. Really impressed with Annette coming back out of retirement and playing a solid bass. This band is the stuff of legends! Or just full of legendary members!

Just great rock with some of the best. Ah. Feels so darned good. They were great then and they are great now. Thank you for all the music. Love y'all! I'm not crying, you're crying.
@@royharper2003 A version of it, yes. California 60's rock. That was rock at the time. It might not be what you call rock today, but when this was recorded; it very much was.
I am clearly late to finding this performance. They still play and sound great. I was particularly amazed an Annette's playing. So solid for not being in the band when most of these songs were written. Bravo to all the Bangles
She was on the Paisley podcast and they asked her about that. If it was hard learning an entire catalog of songs from the band, after she left. She said it was just the number of songs to learn and she had a very short amount of time to learn them. She said the actual bass lines were very simple and easy to learn though.
What a great performance. The bass player is amazing. They're all amazing. The production is great. The camera person is ALWAYS in the right place. Love this.
The bass player is their original. Annette Zilinskas. After Micki called it quits for good, they asked Annette back for a reunion show. Things were just like when they started the band. Then they asked her to join the band again and here she is.
She's great as well. But she's retried from music. In fact recently in an interview, she said she has zero interest in music anymore. Annette (the original bass player) is great as well though and is better than what they had at bass after Micki left. @@tomcrown69
Sadly not only has she said she wont ever come back to the Bangles, she just walked out on them in a show in 2004. The second time she quit the band. My understanding is something happened and she doesn't even communicate with anyone involved with the Bangles anymore. @@tomcrown69

The contract out for us being there went to donation to ECTLC.We worked days before the event, days of the event and days after. This day I was at a establishment on the grounds that faced the stage. This was a very good spot and I along with those at this stage...there were various at the Del Mar Racetrack with other great bands throughout the days and nights of the event just had a blast.
Back in the 80s they were dismissed by many as a "passing fad". Wrong! They still rock, and they're still getting better. And Hoffs without high heels or make-up is still hotter than most of the top female vocalists out there.
Annette Z is a very underrated bassist. I always loved her funky and very Beatles like bass lines in her early days as the Bangs/Bangles. That being said, the Bangles had the best bassist of all time in Micki. Annette is a great backup bassist to fill in for her though. She's also one of the best vocalist, but never sings in the Bangles. A bit of a surprise.
@@RockabillyQueen That's weird. Micki was a great backup and solo vocalist with TB, but Annette is NOT used for the vocal harmonies nowadays, I don't understand why!!!
This live performance will probably remain a kind of ‘the Rooftop Concert at 3 Savile road (London)‘ of the female Beatles. ❤👋 Of course I hope I'm wrong and see them play together again.
And damn, plays a very good bass. What chemistry to just step in some 30 years later and keeps the Bangles machine rocking! Impressed to say the least.
A lot of people don't know this. Annette Zilinskas got together with Brad Laner and they created an early genre of Shoegaze and created a band called "Medicine". Annette wrote all the lyrics, including the hit song "Aruca". Sadly when they took what they created to the record company, a label signed them that was in direct competition with her bands label. So Annette was forced legally to drop out of Medicine. She's since rejoined Medicine, just like she has the Bangles. Check out the Bangles revolver sounding song "Dead Time Bummer Blues".

Vicki still rocks, good looking and brill guitar player
Priceless
Great Band ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for being the Bangles. Good memories!
I like the Bangles.........a underrated group.
Just great rock with some of the best. Ah. Feels so darned good. They were great then and they are great now. Thank you for all the music. Love y'all! I'm not crying, you're crying.
Nice too see Johnny Cowsill there
Forefathers say girls be silent and woman also, Four Bangles, girls at the time, lightened my soul up more than men and machines ever could.
Absolute legends, pure raw talent. What a real rock band! sounds like.
you call this rock?
@@royharper2003 A version of it, yes. California 60's rock. That was rock at the time. It might not be what you call rock today, but when this was recorded; it very much was.
Debbi can still slay Going Down to Liverpool
So refreshing to hear a live band , no tricks just live and raw and sounding great , love it 🎸
It's so cool how they take turns on vocals.
Excelente!
Love the honesty of the sound.
The drummer is gorgeous.
I wish Micki would come back. She is one of the world best bassist male or female. Micki is the Bengles without her it’s not the same.
Love Micki, but the Bangles still sound great without her still. @@tomcrown69
I love the Bangles!💟💞💝💟
I swear they just get better. Solid rhythm section, lovely guitars, and sweet vocals. 😄
I was there working crowd control for ECTLC a ministry from El Cajon.
Super concert, super girls!
Back in the 80s they were dismissed by many as a "passing fad". Wrong! They still rock, and they're still getting better. And Hoffs without high heels or make-up is still hotter than most of the top female vocalists out there.
Nothing wrong with high heels though....
You need your eyes checked
@@Ricardo-cl3vs Bass player still rocking heels.
I heard the whole concert, amazing girls
That drummer was badass
Vicki doing a great job with Chris Bell's epic guitar lines on September Gurls.
Good to see this as a full on human performance! Nice!
Great bassist
Annette Z is a very underrated bassist. I always loved her funky and very Beatles like bass lines in her early days as the Bangs/Bangles. That being said, the Bangles had the best bassist of all time in Micki. Annette is a great backup bassist to fill in for her though. She's also one of the best vocalist, but never sings in the Bangles. A bit of a surprise.
@@RockabillyQueen That's weird. Micki was a great backup and solo vocalist with TB, but Annette is NOT used for the vocal harmonies nowadays, I don't understand why!!!
@ my guess is maybe her voice doesn’t blend well with the other three. It happens.
I love the Bangles!
Chills. Whoa. So good.
This live performance will probably remain a kind of ‘the Rooftop Concert at 3 Savile road (London)‘ of the female Beatles. ❤👋
Of course I hope I'm wrong and see them play together again.
Glad they got together for some funness. Be great if they toured again and did some small arenas...
These babes still shine😊.
Still rocking! And looking like they are loving it 🥰🥰🥰
Annette Zilinskas - Bass Guitar ... so cool she would come back to fill in for the departed Michael Steele.
I didn’t realize he’d passed away... 🙁
@@grahamstrouse1165 michael steele is a woman. She retires
you can always tell those people who don't know much about the band. lol. @@vegobond007
Susanna is so cool fun to watch.
Thanks to all the Bangles for their great and sweet music. Susanna is just an angel from Heaven ....that's all I can say in words.
Great little Gig, great musicians, great vocals harmony, sweet Sussy, great lead guitar, love it ! ❤
Love this group
Sound great and look great
