Not metal. And of course it "holds up" great music is great when it's released, its great a year later, it keeps on being great 5 years later, and STILL GREAT 50 years later. Great music is timeless.
Love Vicki, not only was she good looking, but she was the most rocking of The Bangle girls. Love the way she looked in this video and the Walk Like and Egyptian video. She gave this group energy during performances...

I just met Debbi on Wednesday night she is drumming for Matthew Sweet on his tour She is very lovely and badass on the drums ! I love the Bangles ! I wish I had seen them live back when

Micheal steele... 😍😍😍 when guys had posters from Motley crue or poison ... I had Micheal steele the sexy bass player from the bangles. Glad I was lucky to see the bangles perform soooo many times.. always kicked ass shows!
THIS WAS APPARENTLY the "Christmas Special" for the relatively short-lived "Top of the Pops (America)" series -, which premiered on CBS on Sept. 25, 1987 and ran for 26 episodes. Those episodes combined video from the half-hour U.K. version of the show, hosted by Gary Davies, with an additional half-hour recorded from the Roxy nightclub in Los Angeles, hosted by Nia Peeples (whom we see introducing this segment).
IKR! Rediscovering them after a long time and I am completely amazed at their vocals and musicianship. How did I not have a crush on Vicki when I was a kid?
Rediscovering them as well. WOW! Wow is all I can say! You know at the risk of sounding like grandmother time, this came out at the beginning of my senior year. I still love the Bangles! Idk how I missed this live performance, but I must say it frickin rocked! Still rocks!
coolest ladies of rock and roll-saw them a few years ago at the House Of Blues in Boston-i got all their autographs and some great photos-they ended the show with their cover of the 1960s song "Pushing Too Hard" by The Seeds. Susanna's side glance (sexy as it was) was her way of hiding stage fright, she would look at one person on each side of the stage to avoid looking at the crowd. Oh that I could been one of those people. It simply became her trademark. :)
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have ever been so high that you just wish you would NEVER come down and in the same time, you PRAY that you can find a way to stay high and live. I guess this is you. I have had to help friends quit cold . I have never hurt for people so much :( This is my favorite song by them. It is a wicked subject to get a hold of. They did it.
Love the Bangles. Funny how towards the end of of video 3:40-3:46 Vicky kept nudging Micki Steele to Kenny Loggins Micki got all shy and awkward hahahaha!
Michael seemed to be ticked off at Vicki. Wasn't that Kenny Loggin's wife and child next to them? I don't think think that was Stevie Nicks. I could be wrong. Kenny looked bewildered too.
nicky clue eyes 29 I don´t think Vicki pushed her exactly against him. She was just playing rough. Just a second before (3:39) it's seen that pushes Susanna too, even makes her wobble. But when she went against Micki she got very hard, it seems that she even hit her in the chest because it seems that it hurt her. That's why she gets upset, but Micki is very calm and tries to just reassure her with her hand. It's just Vick playing rough with Mick as was normal in her. It's something I miss about Micki in the band: the dynamic between her and Vicki, especially offstage.
@@SacredFire777 Watch it again and see that Vicki nailed Michael right in the boob with her shoulder. That's why Michael cringed. I don't think she did that on purpose, she was just being playful and didn't realize where she bumped her at. That looks painful. Ouch! Poor Michael had to just try to keep smiling through the pain. Gotta love live TV!
Here we have a drummer would not only can sing but also play the drums standing up. To bad we don’t have someone today who could learn from this kind of music and integrate it into her path to stardom.
Damn, seen some live vids, saw them live a lot but never doing this song, jeez, they absolutely killed it, they really did become a fucking fantastic band. So sorry that this occurred right before they imploded and ended, they were wailing. Would have loved to had a whole cd produced by Rick Rubin, they deserved one hard rock record. Still, gotta say, new one's great, so much better than Doll Rev, but I miss Michael, still great, the Peterson's rule, but not the same sans Miki...love Bangs
This is kinda like they used to do on the midnight special. The song itself is the studio version, only it`s instrumental, they`re singing the vocals, it`s obvious.
I watch this video and compared the ending, especially Vicki's voice in the original video with movie clips. Vicki's voice and Michael's harmonized lower in original video, while in this live appearance Vicki's voice goes up octave and harmonizes up higher with Susanna and Debbie during these last three repeating lines. Always loved the sweet harmonies and their musical talent.

I was waiting for more songs by them with this heavier direction. Sadly that was not to be.

The song is recorded but you can acatually hear the girls sing over their recorded studio vocals. Makes for a kick-ass and unique sound.
Time, time, timeless song, performance, and band. ❤
I love the Bangles, all four of them
I know this isn't their song but they sound pretty tight playing this song live back in the day and now. They should have had more material like this
jimmyjambhere so your saying they should be a cover band?
i was just saying i think they sound better with more of a hard rock sound.
They are brilliant at mime
The vocals are live but not sure about the playing. They played it live at SNL and it sounds even better. The vid has been removed.
Yooo fucking slayer! 🤘🏻

"Hazy Shade Of Winter"
(originally by Simon & Garfunkel)
Time, time, time, see what's become of me
While I looked around
For my possibilities
I was so hard to please
But look around, leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
Hear the salvation army band
Down by the riverside, it's bound to be a better ride
Than what you've got planned
Carry your cup in your hand
And look around, leaves are brown now
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
Hang on to your hopes, my friend
That's an easy thing to say, but if your hopes should pass away
Simply pretend
That you can build them again
Look around, the grass is high
The fields are ripe, it's the springtime of my life
Ahhh, seasons change with the scenery
Weaving time in a tapestry
Won't you stop and remember me
But look around, leaves are brown now
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
Look around, leaves are brown
There's a patch of snow on the ground...
