"Its just that easy folks"
I was going to say the same thing.. smh
The Marksman saw this comment as soon as he said it lmao
Damn you beat me to it
Me: Yea... I’ll be on snare thanks
Oh it's a cooking show
that seems difficult with all those chains in the neck, lot of weight.
“It just that easy folks”
Me: drop my sticks while playing
This is why I play snare lol
Same
Went from snare to tenors and after watching this, I'm considering switching back. LOL But really though, tenors are fun.
+Score One Entertainment yeah I actually played tenors for 2 years at my school then I switched to snare my junior year
+Chezzter but yeah tenors are really fun but it requires a lot of hand and eye coordination
I was snare for my junior junior year of high school and freshman year of college. Tenor for my senior year of high school and sophomore year of college.
"It's just that easy, folks," - Bill Bachman
Instructor gold at 9:10-9:21...
The part that made me learn how to play 3s.
Sean LaMontagne triple stroke roll?
Deuce Andrews yes.. that is what “3s” means
That's such a gold advice! I literally can't get it wrong again
I played ubiquitous illin-ness for my drumline audition and messed up the lick. Too nervous. Didn't make tenor line :(
For a second I thought he was playing on tortillas

"his ubiquitous influence was felt by all the family"
You seem to be around all the drumming videos 😂
"I'm from the east coast and we do tend to play paradiddlediddles there... it is what it is."
2:48 "FIIIiiiIiill"
"It's just that easy, folks."
11:13 "Oooooh"
He’s so good that the purple part of the pad doesn’t look like it was hit at all
"It's just that easy folks" O_O gimme a few months to practice....
I love how he says: "real Simple"....Amazing!
I'm a bass player what the hell is going on here
Same here, bro. Same here.
Peter Warner I’m a bass player that wants to play tenors
@@kitkatkid1976 for the love of god, spare yourself the back pain
@@kitkatkid1976 or don't, tenors are fun asf
1:04 "Its just that easy folks" BITCH THAT IS NOT EASY!!!
i was judged and met bill bachman yesterday and he's actually really really cool.
@bill Bachman, for Christmas I'm getting new drum sticks, and probably money. If I have enough I will get tenors and try to get the books you recommended, however I've only played one year in school, so I have to learn cross over fives and scrapes but I did know what they were st least, also thanks for the video, but now I will practice on my drum set and pretend they are tenors
11:50 the first WHAT
yo that triplet roll into the 3's was cleeaaaaaaaannn!!!! It sounds so satisfying 0:58
Someone please turn on the auto-generated captions and tell me the interpretation of drum speak isn't hilarious.
+Hudson Burgess LMAO!!!!!
para did the dildo
Hudson Burgess is
Hudson Burgess I LOVE YOU FOR THIS
Dude you are an incredible player and teacher!!!! Subscribed!!
Nice ! I'm thinking about retiring with marching Tom's and a back pack marching across the southern States
Ubiquitous=omnipresent=god=drummers for Jesus. Makes sense.
this was unexpected and amazing.
“I’m from the east coast and we tend to play paradiddle diddles”. That’s pretty much correct. 🤣
Brilliant B.B.
any one else notice that when he broke it down part by part, the 4 paradiddle-diddles before the 3's was different from when he played it through at the end? look at the 1st count.
That's because at the end, he played what's actually written in the actual sheet-music itself. The notes you see below the video, are the ones Vic Firth transcribed based on what he was teaching. So I conclude that when he was teaching that measure at a slow tempo, he had like a brain fart or something, but later, when he started playing it at the actual tempo, his muscle memory played the actual correct part for him. It's fascinating how our brain memory tends to hiccup and mix things up in comparison to muscle memory. That's why they say repetition legitimizes.
Nice!
Why is it considered cheating if the drummer listens for the pitch in drums to help learn the parts?
Maybe he meant that a miskate is more easily noticed from a real snare, where the pitch change with the position of the sticks on the head... Maybe
I’m sure the is mostly for tenors, if you are learning by listening rather than reading the music, on the pad you won’t be able to tell which drum is which based on drum melody.
i forgot to give this a thumbs up nine years ago! here's two! 👍👍
Can practicing this way, help in drumming on full set? I'm just learning, any ideas ? You guys kick butt. You'd be awsome set drummers.
0:51 what da fuq
Yeaaa that’s why I’m a snare
Am using quad pad to develop open hand set technique. Works.
this is why i play tenors
I’m a horn player but like how do you even move your hands that fast hello is this magic?
Not Mr T it’s just by building up chops after a couple months of chopping out you’ll see that its pretty easy moving that fast
repitition, repitition, repitition. like the other dude said, keep chopping it out and speed comes with time.
it's true, all the time, East coast!
I love those cross 5's
Bill Bachman: 2:48
Guy named Phil: 👀
this is sending me
Can you tell me where the third arm comes into play?
I don't know why, but it always screws me up when he says paradi-di-da-dle instead of paradiddle-diddle
do they have any rudamental rams on the timpani
Bachman deserves that shirt
My friend in México :) Ubiquitous Illin-ness
I play the tenors and I’m just *WHOOSH*
What's the purpose behind rudimental ram? Is it just practice for actual drumming?
Is there a compilation of these licks written out somewhere?
I’d love to learn this lick it’s pretty cool but it’s not “just that easy folks”
"Just that easy" he says!!! :D
did anyone actually find the cross five lesson on vicfirth
1:04 “it’s just that easy folks” Only thing I knew how to do was the first measure
WOW
finally some Q love!
Does anyone know if vic firth removed the cross fives page?
Holy shit dude!!!
Ubiquitous - More than one place at the same time.
What's is that stand he is using
Drummers for Cheeses is my favorite festival. Nothing better than hundreds of people playing cheese-related rudiments in unison.
1:05 "Its Just That Easy Folks"
Is that a small or large Vic firth tenor
pad
'O.o
Wow!
I had my headphones loud and the intro scared me
"It's just that easy"
Sheet music wrong at the end of the cross five @5:27?
I think so. I just noticed that too
Hold my beer..... ...
Ok never mine....
🍺
What is he playing on
The music at 7:32 does not match what it says in the book
What sticks are those
holy shit are the only words i got for this
What pair of sticks is he using?
what is that instrument even called
Plumbley quads
multi tenor drums
quints
tenors
ah cheers
If there is anyone what for some reason like I am still watching this over 3 years can someone tell me what size quadropad is this?
Rub a dub idk what the size is called but vic firth has 2 quad pads: the one in the video is the smaller one, with only 1 spock in the middle, and then theres a bigger one, with 2 spocks in the middle
purplesprite I got it thank you for the reply
2:59
...Does anyone actually know what video (the jesus festival thing) he was talking about in the beginning? If it was written for that, I bet it was pretty bad ass
😂so sick
measure 17 in violent tenor cream doesn't have the same paradiddlediddle part.... why??
look at 7:24 and at 10:28
JC Calhoun I noticed that same thing. It's a basic paradiddlediddle of 123322 THEN two sets of crossovers with the 131122 131122 then a right hand cross to 433322. I'm glad I'm not the only one who notices.
Oh easy okay here I go uh thank to you now I'm wet with my own effort of trying to do this deadly solo for 2 hour can't even get pass speed for second full yet first one was easy but second one is way advance
I can’t take any of these videos seriously with that shirt
It's just that easy folks
"It's like a snare drum; it's monotone and dull" 😂😂😂
And this is why I play quint toms
what is that instrument called?
Marching tenor drums, quads, quints, sextets(if there are six drums), and Tenors.
Anyone know what sticks he's using?
+Blain Haskin Probably Bachman's
his own signature sticks
sheet music?
Good
"You big with the illness."
That is something vanguard would play😂
holy shit….
Vic firth show ur hand in slow movement
OPIE!
Those 5’s
The shirt tho😂
Easy....... What more like hard
Violent tender cream
2:20 well your pads arnt toned.. but the goods one are quite I bit.. ://
Did he really say just that simple LOL
Umm.. Can you please upload a video of you playing it a bit slower and demonstrate all the techniques and stickings? I'm a slower learner.. Actually I'm learning by myself using the internet! HELP!
I agree ALOT, and i'm a multi percussionist...
"It's that easy, folks!"
Well, if you're talking about giving up on snare drumming, then you're right as rain!
did he say easy?
Yes he did c:
