  • In this video lesson feature, Vic Firth artists & educators teach you a difficult "lick" that will incorporate a wide range of techniques, rudiments, hybrids and stick tricks! Each rudimental ram is broken down by the author, with the music printed on the screen so that you can stop & start the video and watch it played at a slow tempo.
    If you're already an accomplished drummer and are looking for a challenge, then you'll have a great opportunity to learn from some of the best in the world!
    Stay tuned for MORE rudimental rams - and subscribe to our channel for updates on new videos posted DAILY!
    About Bill Bachman:

If I have enough I will get tenors and try to get the books you recommended, however I've only played one year in school, so I have to learn cross over fives and scrapes but I did know what they were st least, also thanks for the video, but now I will practice on my drum set and pretend they are tenors

    any one else notice that when he broke it down part by part, the 4 paradiddle-diddles before the 3's was different from when he played it through at the end? look at the 1st count.

    • @danielapollo
      @danielapollo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's because at the end, he played what's actually written in the actual sheet-music itself. The notes you see below the video, are the ones Vic Firth transcribed based on what he was teaching. So I conclude that when he was teaching that measure at a slow tempo, he had like a brain fart or something, but later, when he started playing it at the actual tempo, his muscle memory played the actual correct part for him. It's fascinating how our brain memory tends to hiccup and mix things up in comparison to muscle memory. That's why they say repetition legitimizes.

    Why is it considered cheating if the drummer listens for the pitch in drums to help learn the parts?

    • @vetlerradio
      @vetlerradio 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Maybe he meant that a miskate is more easily noticed from a real snare, where the pitch change with the position of the sticks on the head... Maybe

    • @nestorlam3024
      @nestorlam3024 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m sure the is mostly for tenors, if you are learning by listening rather than reading the music, on the pad you won’t be able to tell which drum is which based on drum melody.
