The intro solo is just out of this world, leading into a powerful, foreboding verse... and that harmony section that I just can't get enough of. Bit of a hidden gem with the other masterpieces in PoM and the other albums of the golden 80s, but a classic in its own right nonetheless. Cheers, and here's to a healthy year!

This a wonderful song with great lyrics! I have a little story around this album. I was 16 in 1983 when it came out. I was fooling around in a some kind of a arcade and across the street there was the vinyl store. Friday evening it had Piece of Mind packed outside the store! trying to find the right shelf. I went back in the arcade borrowed money from everyone I knew in there and bought the album on the spot. Went back home, never came out in the weekend and by Monday morning (back to school) I knew the whole album by heart! Well played Nico!!!

This is one of Maiden's best lyrics of all time along with Infinite Dreams. Musically too, a perfect blend of power and harmony. Clive Burr was awesome but Niko truly took the band to a whole new level. Thank you!

Still Life is such a hauntingly beautiful song! What a gem of a song! You did such a stunning job capturing the sound and feel of both Davey and Adrian! This is my favorite song off of PoM, and one of my favorite all-time Maiden songs. I always end up loving everything Davey co-writes. The upbeat parts make you briefly forget what the song is about. 🤔I often wonder which parts Dave contributed, aside from his solo. I’ve always assumed that he wrote that eerily beautiful intro. It’s a shame they don’t perform Still Life, live. I don’t even think they performed it for the World Piece tour. At least we have the footage from Maiden England 1988 at the NEC. Again, amazing job, as usual! 😯🐟

Brilliant brilliant stuff! And yeah I don't get why they didn't play it on the ME tour cause that was a definite highlight of the original set. I adore this song! Maybe it sounds strange but I hear elements from DP, Scorpions (Uli Era), even... Bach! And it's more strange that I like to hear it from my Piece of Mind 1983 cassette with that foggy sound after all these years 📼.
You know what... I don't think it's strange at all and yeah there is a certain magic to the sound of those old cassettes. I guess it's nostalgia but I do really enjoy listening to these albums that way every now and then.

That solo intro, its got " Woodstock " written all over it and the backing rythym sounds like water dripping off a ledge into a pool below in the cellar of an abandoned structure 😃 😀 😄 or ripples on a placid lake washing ashore in the dead black of night 😃 😀 😄 weather by design or chance, it's a marvelous introduction, it's filled with texture, from: Scranton, Pennsylvania 👩

Lovely tone Nico, it's always spot on for lead and rhythm. I love the bass backing for the opening, that pattern and progression is classic Harris/Maiden. Also really interesting seeing/hearing some of the lesser known tracks.

The new camera angles were not lost on me! Great from a performance perspective. Dave and Adrian do everything perfectly to fit the song here.
