@@LicksOfTheBeast Yeah. I would have been quite happy for them to drop "Fear of the dark" (a massively over-rated song) of even "The Trooper" for them to play that.
@@theutopiantrainer I hear ya... but for a lot of people seeing them for the first time a song like that can't be left out. They would have to do like Springsteen and play 3 hour sets in an ideal world 😄
Makes me laugh when some say Maiden were losing the plot with this album. As far I'm concerned this was their pinnacle! Great job covering this song. Absolutely stunning effort!
I love in the Maiden England version how at the end of his solo Adrian holds the note while Dave comes back in with the melody harmony. Adrian sits out the first bar and then comes back in to play the harmony and what a difference it makes.
I'm glad somebody else noticed that. I think it's a more punchy return to that riff, really makes you think "ooh yeah, they should have played it like that on the studio release!" at 4:57 of that track for anybody else that wants to hear it.
Lets be honest , it's a beautiful song . seventh son album, is a masterpiece in riffs Rhythm guitars , solos , vocals , Adrian was at his peak here . along with dave they made the album Amazing! ! ! 😍
That WONDERFUL harmony near the end will always haunt me! Glad I can play this too, but man, my friend, what a musical PRODIGY we're talking about here! Just absolutely loving I get to enjoy your skills and talent regularly!
Finally someone who deserves to be on TH-cam. Someone who's done their research and knows how to play the songs properly before uploading. Made my job much easier working out the song, too. Thank you!
The whole album is remarkable. I saw your breaking down video of Infinite Dreams and it made me appreciate this song even more! I know Maiden is rich in instrumentation ideas which go well with the storytelling, they just put you in the zone. I have been watching your videos and this one, along with the breakdown of the song my top one for sure.
@@LicksOfTheBeast The album covers of Maiden are the best when you spread them and you see the whole artwork, just fascinating. It is intriguing to me, the back of this album with those frozen figures of the previous albums. Could that be a hidden message for Adrian leaving the band after Seventh Son? I don't remmember hearing rumors back in the day. This is my favorite album to relax and listen to on Sundays afternoon, I believe is a combination of Infinite Dreams and the last day of the week to come back to work the next day, kind of happy/melancholic harmonies. You got some great videos though man!!
Dave Murray’s playing on this album is off the charts! Even though he’s not credited with writing a lot of the material I feel like it was a showcase for him.
This is the absolute balls my Brother... What a great job you did here... This was a superb album and what a Live show this tour was... "Up the Irons" Anybody watching that never had the chance to see this tour, there is an incredibly produced Iron Maiden concert called "Maiden England" which has a lot of great tunes on it including this gem... Thanks for sharing Brother!!!
Absolutely amazing...this song has so much going on its crazy! My personal favorite maiden song of all time. Love it live on Maiden England as well. Great cover! UP THE IRONS!
That was amazing, excellent playing! Love both guitars, the feel, tone and - of course - this absolute masterpiece of a song. Cheers mate, awesome channel, keep up the great work and Up the Irons \m/
Amazing to watch it played, all those sections played in succession, its all about memory, remembering all the parts for each section and all the phrases, and playing all the transitions and bridges smooth, that's what makes maiden, amazing, " the loneliness of the long distance runner " is the same way, 👩 great job from: Scranton, Pennsylvania
I get goosebumps every time that I play or listen to those power chords with octaves on 1:26. Beautiful detail that they thought of when composing this masterpiece. Nicely played, my friend!
Yeah this is a nice feature, but I don't know if these are exaclty octaves or third / minor intevals, like during Where Eagles Dare in the middle part.
@@Ced-Gauche I think one guitar does octaves on the power chord. I think hehehe At least, that s how I used to play it. But I went by ear not using tablatures or anything, so I might be wrong.
@@guilhermelonskispacheco7644 Sounds to me like a minor third harmonized melody, but that jump at the end of the melody line touches that higher E once, I love it because it makes it sound much wider!
Perfect playing. I love those guitar melodies (harmonised), it’s that that gives Maiden their distinctive sound. Well done. I love this channel, I’ve only just found it. 🤘😁🤘🎸
Thanks man!! Sadly I don't think they will considering they didn't play it on the Maiden England tour. But I guess we can always enjoy the original Maiden England version :)

Muchisimas gracias!! That is the main reason I do the covers like that... so that they can show the little details - Glad you're taking full advantage of it and that it's helping :-D Cheers!
God I love this song. First track I remember as a kid learning all the lyrics to because I had the 7 inch single version from maiden England and listened to it about 700 times a day!
Same here!! I have the picture disc single of the Maiden England version with Still Life as the b-side. I ended up wearing out my Maiden England VHS though 😆
Man you knocked this one out of the park! Such a tasteful song with so many really nice little fills, runs and embellishments. I always found it a really odd choice for them to drop this and Still Life when they did the Maiden England revisit tour in favor of songs that were post SSOASS.
hahahaha nooooooooooooooo I want these videos to be motivating - not discouraging!! Then again, when I see what some people do with Dream Theater and Polyphia covers on here, I sometimes feel the same way ROFL
Wow you play that beautifully, that was the song that got me into iron maiden when I was 7 and im mow 44 😂 you just made me want to pick my guitar up and get playing again
Great stuff and I love the channel! I can never decide if Somewhere in Time or Seventh Son of a Seventh Son is my favorite Iron Maiden album. I have a request: Could you make a video about the riffs of Seventh Son of a Seventh Son or even the melodies of Seventh Son of a Seventh Son? One of the things that I have always loved about the album is how it changes from up-tempo and major sounding to foreboding and minor sounding; I think that songs like The Clairvoyant and Infinite Dreams are a great examples of what I am talking about. I would love to know more about what's going on with some the theory behind these moments! Great videos!
Thanks man! They're both very unique albums and both awesome... 🙂 And I do plan on making videos of the album riffs for all the albums so definitely stay tuned for that!!
A very unique song for maiden.Did dave write a lot of these licks? since he is a big Hendrix fan and those licks have a very strong Henrixy vibe in them.
This is amazing, what a masterpiece this song is. Also possibly Nicko's best drum track from the album IMO. P.S. Where did you get your T-shirt from? :o)
It's such a shame they never play this song live again, bacause it's one of their best. Thanks for this great cover.
Yeah I was a bit disappointed they didn't do it on the Maiden England tour in 2012... such a beautiful song!
@@LicksOfTheBeast I agree, I was hoping that set list to be a lot more like the first Maiden England, I was dying to listen Still Life live
