For mamas stressing about not having one!!! Freezer stashes are nice BUT I just want to say that not all mamas need a freezer stash! Unless you're working outside the home or need someone else to feed your baby frequently, you don't need a ton of frozen milk put away. A little as backup for baby's hungry days is great, but don't pressure yourself to have 100 bags of milk. Mamas are under enough stress as it is lol. 🙏🥰
This is great to know! I was so confused because I thought if I’m with my baby 24/7 and nurse what would be the point of having a stash? I’m still confused on wether I need to pump or not because with my first we breastfed but even after her feeding my breasts would constantly leak milk.. maybe she wasn’t getting enough? Or maybe I was just producing a lot
Totally agree!! I am away from my baby frequently enough to where I feel like I want a freezer stash put away for him, for when I'm in the office one day a week or if we go on a trip, but I can put pressure on myself to pump lots of milk and have enough left over to store. I feel like it's almost a hoarding mentality sometimes for me to where I want to have as much as possible stored even though we have a decent amount now. Because I don't trust myself to produce enough in the future or something. Lol as I say this it is 3:30 am and I got up to pump (woke up on my own naturally, didn't set an alarm or anything) because I get like 4 times the amount that I normally do during the day pumping between feedings.
As a brand new mom, staying/ working from home, this comment is very reassuring. It may seem obvious, but for me, I was under the assumption that breastfeeding meant building stashes no matter what. It’s what I’ve always heard. I keep a few in the fridge, just in case, but I don’t even get enough to build a freezer stash yet and I was beginning to be discouraged. Makes me feel MUCH better to know it’s not necessary for all moms!
You’ve inspired me to start pumping again! My son is 6 months and we moved twice in the past couple of months. 10 minutes every morning doesn’t seem that bad so I’m going to try it!!
This is what I have done with all 3 of my girls too! I only did it until 6 m with the first two but am still going at almost 8 m with my 3rd since I am donating to my nephew. I feel like it is such a good way to protect your milk supply since we are always on the go. I have used three different types of Medela pumps and now the Spectra, which is by far my favorite.
The exact same thing happened to me. I tried pumping one side and thought something wrong with it. I was so stressed out since baby gotta eat! I drove back to the hospital and lactation nurse told me the same thing🤦🏻♀️🤱🏻 I’m glad you include this tip in your video and no we were not dumb! It’s a first time mom thing😉
Wow! I have the same pump.. exclusively pumping for the past month and after watching this I realized I’ve been doing the letdown/regular settings backwards this whole time! 🤦🏽♀️ Glad I watched your video LOL
I am 35 weeks pregnant with my second daughter and I had the Medela pump in style with my first. I did not make enough milk at 12 weeks to keep her fed. I did get to bank what I had pumped prior. I did choose the same pump you have and hopefully I will be able to make enough this time to keep this one fed before having to supplement with formula.
I have a 4 month old and I wish I would have pumped more and stored a bigger freezer stash. As a working mom I'm struggling to keep up with daycare milk and milk for grandparents house. So if your a new mom BUILD A STASH!
I hope I can do this :) I’m expecting my first baby - due in November. In addition to donating your excess I’ve also read that you can blend it into foods once they start eating solids.
Super pro tip: because that one side “plug” is so hard to get on, I used a clamp on one tube if I just wanted to use one side instead of messing with the provided plug!
So informative, thank you!! Thinking of pumping for my second. Also, in the beginning not sure if its an indent or a lump in your neck near the bottom of the neck. Just wanted to point it out in case it is a lump, could just be lighting!
I’m pregnant with my first, so this might be a complete newbie question. I think I’m going to get the same pump; are you able to pump directly into the bag, or do you pump into bottles and then pour into the bags? Also, do you get enough milk pumping to fill two bags, or do you combine the milk from both sides into one bag?
Dont know the answer to your first question becsuse i perfer to pump into bottles. But yes, you can combine milk from both breasts as long as they are the same temperature. So if you just pumped those can be combined but you cant combine them with one from the fridge. If you need to do that put everything in the fridge to cool before combining
Just add in more 10 minute sessions (however many suits your needs) in the same 24 hour period to get a larger stash for the freezer. Double pump (two sides at once) for maximum output.
I'm exclusively pumping for my daughter and I did with my son. I very much dislike it but i know its what's best for my babies so I suffer through!! Lol. I love love your new haircut btw!!♡
A simple and great idea! Thank you 🙏 Can you share what bags you liked the best? I saw you linked the Lanoshin and saw the target brand in the video, does the up and up work the same? How do you get it prepped to give to your baby from the freezer? Thanks!
Hi, my baby is currently exclusively breastfed. I’m returning to work soon and want to know how to build a stash. I have a medela but don’t pump. I want to start pumping but don’t know how many times a day I should do it to be able to feed my baby. Could you help me? I would love to hear your opinion or any tips you have for me! Thanks 🙂
You need to pump when baby eats. So i would start adding an extra feeding now to just only pump and save for when you return to work. Then you need to pump when baby would eat. So if baby will eat 3 times while your at work. You need to pump those 3 times
Store as much as you can I had a goal of 1 year and my body stopped ✋️ at 9 months you never know every pregnancy is different thanks to my storage I fed my son for the full year iam so happy I stores extra so store store store.
All this is nonsense it all depends on hormones if your hormones are not in place all these routines just don’t work, just don’t give people false hopes they pump through the day and don’t have enough to feed their baby

Pumping is the worst and I am an exclusive pumper. It will be the happiest day of my life when we’re done!
Molly Haase saaaame. I can’t wait to wean when I have enough stored away.

Don't have a baby...and am single...BUT LOOK AT HER HAIR!! Nice!! 💁🏼
was thinking the same thing. No kids either for me. Maybe one day!!
I’ve been doing this same routine now.. I remembered from your newborn routine in the past. ♥️ thank you for sharing!
I’ve been building mine and was about to look up videos like this and my notification went off 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😍
I hope I can do this :) I’m expecting my first baby - due in November. In addition to donating your excess I’ve also read that you can blend it into foods once they start eating solids.

I love the mom cut!!
At first glance, I thought it said pumpkin routine 😂😜🎃
hahaha me too

Totally thought it said pumpkin routine LOL PSL anyone??? Thanks for sharing! I miss these days!

My baby is 7 days old - helpful tips - hope I can get a big milk supply - would like to know if you take anything for bigger milk supply ??

I love the lansinoh but hate the target brand. So many times I go to thaw a target bag and their is a leak!!!!
Ooh! Yes! So excited for this!
Only 10mins wow! How much do you get out? I pump for 30 Mins to get like 2oz and if it’s first thing in the am I can get around 4.
Thank you for sharing this. I just recently had my baby and she’s a week old already. I started pumping for her because of same reason.
Do you freeze two ounce bags?
Haha! I totally made the same mistake with not plugging in the little stopper 😂
When did you start pumping ?
Hi, my baby is currently exclusively breastfed. I’m returning to work soon and want to know how to build a stash. I have a medela but don’t pump. I want to start pumping but don’t know how many times a day I should do it to be able to feed my baby. Could you help me? I would love to hear your opinion or any tips you have for me! Thanks 🙂
in the video she said that she pumps 1 more time than her daughter nurses. So, her daughter nurses 6x per day and she pumps 1x= 7 stimulations.
You need to pump when baby eats. So i would start adding an extra feeding now to just only pump and save for when you return to work. Then you need to pump when baby would eat. So if baby will eat 3 times while your at work. You need to pump those 3 times
Can't breast milk only be stored in the freezer for 6 months?
Kristín Lilja Sigurðardóttir she speaks about donating it in the video! 🤗
What bottle do you use when you give Hayden a bottle ?
I know there can be bottle and breast confusion
I'm wondering this too!
Store as much as you can I had a goal of 1 year and my body stopped ✋️ at 9 months you never know every pregnancy is different thanks to my storage I fed my son for the full year iam so happy I stores extra so store store store.
Love this video! I was self conscious that I wasn’t pumping enough per day because I despise it 😂 but we basically have the same routine!
Did you pump at all prior to her being one month old?
Love this! Thanks for sharing. I’m not pumping but this is helpful if I decide to start! ❤️ fellow TH-cam mama
I get milk from that facebook group and its awesome!!! Thanks to all the mommas who donate!!!💖💖💖😁😁
which Facebook group??
how do you unthaw/warm your breastmilk?
Run the bags under warm water in your sink. Takes about 4 minutes to unthaw
I got really excited because I thought the title said “my pumpkin routine” & thought it’d be all pumpkin inspired recipes. 🤦♀️
All this is nonsense it all depends on hormones if your hormones are not in place all these routines just don’t work, just don’t give people false hopes they pump through the day and don’t have enough to feed their baby
loving your new hair!!
