Where was this video two weeks ago? 😭 Just finished two weeks yesterday. Thankfully I did some of these tips and while my daughter and I are still learning this dance together, breast feeding has slowly but surely gotten easier. Btw I 100% agree that keeping her awake is by far most annoying/difficult thing ever.

Thanks, I'm almost on my due date and it's nice to hear someone who thinks like me about schedules and practical stuff. I feel in my country anything that isn't feeding on demand is shamed and guiltied upon but I feel in my gut (and my brain) that it doesn't make sense for us.

Really helpful tips, Becca! I am currently on the beginning of week to breast-feeding… And I have to admit I cried many times during the first two days. All of that said, it seems to be getting easier by the day. Good luck to all the mamas out there, trying to get their breast-feeding down! ❤ you’re not alone!

I nursed my daughter for just over 2 years (she’s 3 now). I’m pregnant with my second and due in April. I found this video super helpful as I prepare to nurse again in a few months. We too struggled with ties that needed revised (and went undiagnosed until 8 weeks) causing major pain for me. I remember so many times thinking and saying “this is not how breastfeeding is supposed to be”. I agree with you-I think we are led to believe nursing is this natural thing that comes easily. For many women I know, it is a major struggle the first few weeks/months! Thanks for all the info on what you’ve experienced and learned 😀

I was taught to feed on demand as well as never go 2 hours without a feed. I had help from many lactation consultants as well. They always say do what feels right to you and baby. If you do well on a schedule that is perfectly fine. If you feed whenever baby wants thats great too! I was even encouraged to pump after baby feeds to encourage more milk production. Every bit of advice was helpful and it all works. So when I was a new mom it helped me to be confident.

As far as the SNOO, we transitioned her into her crib at night around 5-6 months..we put her in her crib for most daytime naps so she was really used to sleeping in there, so the transition wasn't bad at all!

This makes sense. My baby was cluster feeding she wanted to feed all the time . She wanted to stay on and it caused my nipples to be cracked and bleed . I had to stop to let my nipples heal and use formula. I really really didn’t want to do that but I was exhausted .. I’m hoping to redo breastfeeding after my nipples heal and my milk comes in .. I been hand expressing just to keep my breast going ..

    • @sd11tj

Put some breast milk on your nipples and use earth mama nipple butter you can get it on Amazon. Also get some collection shields that way your nipples can get air and heal quickly. My baby will be 3 weeks tomorrow that cluster feeding stage is a beast

I really want it to work for me this time.
Baby 1 I didn't breastfeed I was 16 though so that probably had something to do about it.
Baby 2 breastfed 6 weeks but I mixed formula and expressed alot and I didn't get a really good latch.
Baby 3 about the same as above but with a latch and trying alot more. About 6 weeks I stopped because expressing with older kids and a newborn everything took twice as long.

This video makes me so sad. My baby is 5 weeks old, during the day eats every 1-2 hours and 4 times overnight. I breastfeed, pump in between, and our baby also has formula after feeds because I find it impossible to make enough milk and he tries to feed to the point where he starts to cry because he’s still hungry. I read the Jack Newman book. I saw 2 lactation consultants. It’s so hard and this video makes it sound like its so easy and great.

You got this mama! The beginning is so rough! (In case she doesn't have a chance to respond, and just coming from a mom who's been there. Feel free to totally ignore :D I'd restart the 2hr clock after every feed with mine. Baby will let you know if she/he needs to eat sooner. 7-10 days old is a pretty common time for a newborn to be going through a growth spurt, could be eating more frequently to help your milk supply catch up to baby's new increased calorie needs.)

I don't like babies , it would be easier when I have my baby to like them . I don't think their cute either.. is that really a requirement to care for your child? Cause the mere description of describing breast feeding makes me think bad things 😐 I wanted to start a family but when I got pregnant finally I'm not so sure about it anymore. I wish I liked babies - I really want to love this baby . The Bill's and stress just makes it worse and I can't talk to anyone because its expensive.
