I have made tops knitted and crocheted and there is something so fulfilling about marking something you can wear and enjoy for years and when you go some place and wear your creations and someone asks you, where do you get that this beautiful think you wearing and you can say “thank you, I made it” its just the best feeling of such an accomplishment. I made my Mum a knitted top. She's recently moved into residential care, she will be 93 in mid-July. Sadly one of my brothers emptied Mums house and threw it away. Well it went to a thrift shop, but I don't know where!
But I'm just going to make her a new one as she wore it regularly and not just when I was popping in for a visit.

I have never crocheted a top for myself before, but i have just started making a versatile scarf/shawl/shrug with crema worsted in poetic hues. It is soooo sproingy-squishy-soft so far, and it's like crocheting with a delicious cord of happiness with every stitch. I am about 1/4 done and already snuggling with it.

Now I don’t know why I thought it was too hard in the past. I picked up crocheting during Covid and only made bucket hats. Cardigans are the best. Some I finished in a week and others took months- it all depends on the stitch pattern. So convenient for spring and summer to just throw on.

The first top I ever crocheted was the Confetti DK pullover. I made it after I saw it in one of Chandi's lives. It was so cute, I couldn't resist! I had never made a garment before, but I loved it so much that I have made a few others since then.

That is such a cute top! Yes, it's going on my never ending list! I've started the Pompaeo (sp) top, alas, other beautiful designs keep popping up that I MUST MAKE NOW!!! It's not even half way done. I'll get back to it. The Crema yarn is a dream! I've been working on the Mou Leipeis poncho and I was getting it done quickly until I got to the seaming and I kept sewing it up the wrong way. So I'm taking a break and making my last Creery sweater for my other niece.

My favorite top I’ve made is my off the shoulder moss stitch tunic/sweater with colors inspired by Haku from Spirited Away. I am extremely hot natured, but I wanted something with weight to wear on anxiety days. So I made this with Lion Brand’s Coboo yarn and went up a hook size to make sure I had more open airy feel. The main color is white and then as you get towards the end of the sleeves and the waist section, I slowly shifted from the white, to a light turquoise, and then finally to a dark “blue jeans” color at the bottom. I love it so much.
