I was looking for Legion keycaps removal video, because I want to clean under the keycaps. Thanks for showing the zoom-in keycaps and the removal procedure!
So, I just bought legion 5i pro yesterday (yes the laptop is literally 1 day old, and I notice that The "M" button is a bit recessed, like, it literally sunk. So I search for a way to remove the keycap and found this video, I manage to open the keycap, and I found a little piece of plastic stuck on the frame between M key and space key, the plastic seems to be a byproduct debri coming off from the chassis. Top tier quality control Lenovo have there :@
similar case with me bro, I just bought a Legion Slim 7 few days ago and my problem is in F and G just like your M button. So I come to this video but I still not brave enough to pull those buttons, wondering if I could push them again in its places. Yeah, what a poor quality control. by the way, is the button working properly after you take that debris out?
I just tend to buy spare keyboard assembly. I did it for my previous gaming laptop Asus G1Sn, and also bought for Lenovo Legion 5. Found one on AliExpress, not for exactly the same model, but it seems to be the same. It costed like 35 EUR but now I have full set of keycaps in the language I want and a lot of spare parts. Which is a good thing for gaming equipment... Thanks for showing keycap removal!
in My mind watching this: Get to the point... if you found a fix then jump to it than making a video that is 10 minutes long with perhaps 1-3 minutes of useful information X_X Trust me take this as a positive feedback so you don't get further hate from others by doing it more.
I have a y530 and my l key is feeling weird when its being pressed of course i dont use l that often so i dont care but its good to know that you can swap the mechanism
In my case i took off the case of the button and I ve found some broken plastic but it didnt belong to anything, nor mechanism or button or rubber..everything was intact but yet there was some kind of plastic blocking a function of a button, feels like it was stucked :D
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help figure out a problem with my laptop W key. It recently started not to work all that well whenever I press on the key it doesn’t type or register unless I press on the key really hard and was wonder if anyone could give any tips or videos like this one that could help me fix this problem. I have a Lenovo Legion 5 laptop
Hi! Do you think this would work for laptop keys that aren't exactly sticking, they just... don't work about half the time? My T, Y, left Shift, cspslck, [ and ], Numlock, and specifically the 4 and 8 on the keypad just stop working sometimes lately. I've tried compressed air and it helped ever so infinitesimally. I'm willing to give anything a try at this point!
Nothing bad will happen if you just try, as long as you are careful enough. So go on, and let us know the results later. P. S. Big keys, such as Spacebar, Shift, Caps Lock can be tricky. So you better get some additional info on how to remove them before doing anything.
My new lenovo legion 5 backspace key popped out and for some reason some times when i turn on my computer my screen remains black forcing me to restart the laptop to see the lenovo legion logo on the screen. Someome had this problem before ?
I am not sure if I can explain more than video can show. Please watch that part with exposed mechanism once again, and keep in mind that you have to HANG it on those metal hooks or whatever they are called, and then pull down a little and push it into keyboard.
I bet it's just a poor production quality, that's all. They put all the money into hardware, and to decrease production cost, all other parts of the laptop are being made from stuff they can find in the cupboard under the stairs. P. S. Did your try that key swapping? Or you just returned it or something? I really wonder if it helped someone else or I just got lucky.
@@angrylee Some time after the key had started getting stuck I tried cleaning the button up. I'm not sure if I had done something wrong or was it just a coincidence but shortly after, 4 keys on that side of the keyboard stopped working. I returned the laptop to the service for free as it was still under warranty and they replaced the entire keyboard.
Lenovo Keyboard sucks......... My backspace displaces itself frequently....... thanks for the zoomed in view...... I was trying to figure out which side of the white retention is to be seated down.

My Legion Y540 also had that problem but with the S key. I feel like they do it on purpose.
