That dark purplish/blue spot after pressure treatment is a pressure mark where the plastic optical layers/filters are damaged. I see it all the time in field monitors that are prone to rough treatment and damage. I've also seen dead and hot pixels or pixel groups spontaneously fixing themselves after leaving the monitor alone for a while, only to leave such a pressure mark behind. It's very clear what the cause of the dead/hot pixels was in that case. Groups of dead and hot pixels can be caused by displaced or damaged spacers in the crystal layer of the panel.

I appreciate the lesson around monitors. However none of these suggestions worked out. What did it for me was to play around the refresh date of the monitor. It was set to 60 hertz and by switching from 60 to 75 and back, the dead pixels revived (they were stuck). Hope the suggestion works for you.

Stuck pixels are weird. Had a couple of them in the past and was able to fix both of them because they were just stuck. A quick Google search for a pixel exerciser which basically is a little box that flashes different colors quickly to exercise that pixel can be placed over the bad pixel and surprisingly if it is just stuck with a color on it, in my case it was green both times, it does fix it. Neat quick easy do-it-yourself fix.
Dead pixels truly suck though. usually a certain number of them have to be dead or you're just forced to use it and rage.
EDIT: after watching the full video you reminded me that I once had to massage a dead pixel back to life as well. Yes really weird but it does work. I had a stuck pixel once and I tried with a microfiber cloth very carefully and gently massaging the small area it was located at being careful not to press too hard because you don't want to see a rainbow effect on the LCD and damage your display. Massaging the pixel I can confirm also does work as well. I've done it, it worked.
So the tldr version for anyone who has trouble with a stuck pixel of a specific color, try the j-screen fix he recommends, I've had it work in the past. I've also had massaging the pixel work as well. I would try Jscreen fix first to avoid touching the display. As long as the pixel isn't completely dead the good news is knowing the right information as he provided in this video you can take Brian and fixing it yourself because often you might get lucky and you can. Good luck everyone with stuck pixels, we feel your pain.

Classifications wanting to make it look as if dead, stuck or hot pixels are common or natural doesnt make it common or natural. Defective pixels are inacceptable.

I once had dead pixels on my screen too, but it wasn't the monitor. It was the gfx card's memory. I always saw 2 dead pixels next to eachother on my windows desktop, which had a wallpaper image on it. After pressing F5 to reload or refresh it, the dead pixels were suddenly somewhere else on the screen. Also, when playing video games, some triangles were cutting through the entire screen. All "broken" triangles had one corner (vertex) pointing towards the 0-point (world center) of the game world. All due to some memory-locations being damaged. No way to fix that. :P

Yes, I'm overqualified for quality control... That's over 500 ppi 😂) I've been able to return the device for a refund and get a new unit. I've brought home quite a few monitors and TVs from the trash (bulk trash, twice a year the city will haul away almost anything you put on the curb), and of the ones that worked, almost none of them have any dead or stuck pixels. The dell monitor I'm using right now used to have a dead pixel, but it seems to have gone away. The other day I grabbed a 40" Toshiba TV that works great, but has one green pixel that is stuck on. I tried lightly rubbing it with my finger, but that didn't do anything. I'll try that website and see if that helps.
One thing I've noticed is that the majority of monitors work just fine, as long as the screens aren't physically damaged. On the other hand, TVs are a crapshoot. Smaller TVs (20-30") often work, while larger TVs (40-60") often don't work at all, or have something wrong with them. I found a 60" Vizio with half the backlights burned out. A 50" Samsung with no sound and a purple tint to the picture. A 50" 4K Samsung that started glitching after about three hours. I've found three 40" Samsung TVs that work fine. One has a glass screen and a glass stand, so it weighs a ton. One has such a thick bezel around the screen that it looks like it should be a 50" TV. And one is pretty lightweight, but has no stand.

I had this debate (warrantee for dead pixels) with Sony rep in Sony store when buying my TV over 10 years ago. He said the same thing, below is our debate
Sony rep: "the price would be way higher to ensure zero pixel faults",
Me: "wow that many are sold with broken pixels?"
Sony rep: "no it's very rare don't worry"
    Me: "how rare?"
Sony rep: "I don't know exactly but I've sold hundreds and never seen a TV I sold have a dead pixel."
Me: "so let's say 1 in 100 at most?"
Sony rep: "oh way less than 1 in 100"
Me: "then at 2% to all your TVs, that's double the sale price not you cost to produce price of all the TVs you have to replace at most and you can refurbish or reuse parts so that should if anything make you a profit overall and you get to brag zero pixel garentee on all your TVs"
Sony rep: "it doesn't work like that"
Yes it does, either the failure rate is way more than 1% and many many consumers are dealing with this or they can easily garentee it cause 2% is just £20 on a £1000 TV, that s so little they could legit swallow that cost and still make money on the TVs ( as proven by sales prices)
I don't buy the excuse it needs to cost allot for zero pixel protection the only valid argument for not providing it is the e-waste but given they can reuse the parts and refurbish Vs many customers throwing it out entirely earlier than they would have it if was fine also adds to e-waste so that's even debatable

You know what I find really ironic? That for every "upgrade" to technology, they seem to introduce more and more defects that are considered acceptable.
USB was hailed as a giant leap forward over dedicated ports, but it has a lag issue that dedicated ports didn't have. Yet, despite this issue, it's still considered better.
LCD panels can have dead or stuck pixels and this is considered acceptable by manufacturers. When was the last time you heard of CRT manufacturers considering it acceptable for their screens to have dead spots in them? Then there's the issue of LCD screens not always updating fast enough to keep up with all the action. Oh and the fact that LCD screens can only display a single resolution, so setting them to anything else will result in the image being scaled up or down to fit the panel's native resolution. CRT monitors used to literally change the resolution to match the signal, so the image was always pixel perfect. Oh, and LCDs don't work with light guns, light pens or any other such tech. But they're better!!!
Computing power has made great leaps forward, but you know what it can't do? It can't read an analog signal as well as a 45 year old Atari 2600. "Well, that's because of analog to digital conversion..." So you're telling me that in the almost half century of "progress", we've lost the ability to accurately read an analog signal? Seems like that would be a huge problem in the scientific field, the medical field, and many other applications. And wasn't the 2600 display composed of pixels? So doesn't that mean that the 2600 converted the analog signal of the paddles into digital data to draw the screen display? So why have we apparently lost that capability?

Came across this whole looking for info on IPS screens since my brand new MSI came with a stuck red pixel. Took a few shots with my cheapy USB microscope and JScreen seems to be helping a bit so I'm going to run a full screen video I also found on TH-cam overnight in hopes that kicks it into gear. If the "noninvasive" attempts don't do it, it's going in for an exchange.
