Thanks so much for recommending this restaurant! I actually visited and had such a great time there. I really loved all the dishes and drinks there, especially the traditional obanzai. Yuka was super nice. When she knew that I became aware of her store throughout your video, she was very happy and said that there have been other customers like me recently as well. The atmosphere looked so fun, and it seemed like everyone in there was having a wonderful time. Perfect representation of a successful restaurant owner.
Been waiting for another Day in the Life Video! Obviously scheduling, filming and editing on top family life is time consuming so thanks for all the hard work!
it definetly seems like she got herself into the perfect line of work for her personality! she looks like she has so much fun and enjoys being around all of the customers and returners. AND on top of that she already has her own "large" apt in the heart of the city. shes a boss woman for real!!!
Wow! This has to be my fav Day in a Life episode. Love Yuka-san’s energy, positivity, determination, single-handedly managing her business, interacting with her customers, engaging with her staff, working non-stop all night, earning well to pay rent, salaries to her staff to owning her home in Tokyo and carrying everything with her beautiful smile. Gorgeous! 🫶🏼
She is a clear headed, goal oriented all rounded person. On surface, it’s a izakaya selling alcohol but in fact she created a third place within the community. I wish she keeps up her energy and attitude!
aww, even though this is an "establishment of the night" the vibe is so cute, all the staff seem like great friends and a great team. Plus it's so admirable seeing Yuka run her own business, all while wearing a Kimono! Also the way she carries herself and how she interacts with her customers is so friendly and humbling, really inspiring :')
Totally agree. I would absolutely go to a restaurant like this, despite not drinking alcohol. Good food and friendly staff/customers would make an amazing night.
this is not what you think of as adult-only place, this is just a place where people gather for food and drink, not your typical western bar. There are places like that in Japan but they have a different name like Snack Bars where people do goes to mama-san and flurt.
This is incredible. I’ve always known that Japanese hospitality is the best in the world and this video shows exactly why. I love how she takes the time to personally send off the customers, ensuring they’ve fully left the area before returning inside the Izakaya. Also, Yuka is so graceful and elegant. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful video!
What a beautiful video. The standard the young woman has set for herself. The upholding of tradition, the determination, the excellent attitude. Great profile Paolo. This is excellence.
absolutely adore this community she's built and the comfortable atmosphere she's created with her restaurant! all the hard work shows in everyone's easygoing smiles and singing haha
You know this is no ordinary mom and pop shop! So much elegance and class just by looking at her. Also the location of this restaurant in dead center of Ginza means it’s one hell of a restaurant to be there! Kyoto dishes are lightly flavored compared and has such delicate taste so I can tell it’s no ordinary Izakaya. I came back to the U.S. after a week in Kyoto and I realized how much sodium is used and how vibrant American food is since my palate got so used to the delicate flavors of Kyoto. I couldn’t use ketchup or salsa at first since it was way too strong of a flavor.
Yuka is so amazing!!! I met her in New York years ago and when friends of mine visited Japan she was so kind to meet us, show us around, and even show us how to make delicious vegan snacks. I'm so happy to see a successful and fulfilled businesswoman thriving!! She is such an inspiration and her izakaya seems awesome, I wanna go once I travel to Japan next year!
I cannot imagine getting so little sleep. Its seems that in Japan its quite common to sleep five hours or less every day. this sounds really tough. I have a lot of respect for Japanese people!
Wow, how amazing for her to achieve her dreams and make a name for herself! Love the atmosphere she upholds in her Izakaya. Very friendly and comforting. Congrats to her and her business. I wish her all of the success! Thanks Paolo for another great day in the life!
I found the short version of this video on Facebook and loved it so much I went to look for your TH-cam. I was THRILLED to see it had a longer extended version. Thank you for your time making this content, it makes my heart so happy to be able to 'visit' this place I can't get to.
I loved to see a businesswoman working, she takes care of everything and are nice with customers. Kudos to her! the place seems like a very fun place to spend the night.
Really great video. For a couple of years I used to date a girl in Japan who worked at an izakaya. The routine in this video was pretty much exactly for her and wow, she worked late. Usually got home around 2am-4am.
you really could see and feel that she is not only doing it "for work and earning money" but she really likes it and loves what she is doing and this pure energy also kinda pushes her staff :-D and the customers feel that as well
Ok but I LOVE how everything about this lady screams CLASS. 😍 Love to see a woman in a leadership position, thriving and empowering others. I'm her fan now.
This is one of my favorite eps and ive been on a mini marathon of the channel today. I can see why she’s doing so well. Great food, excellent service, steady group of regular customers. This would be any local’s dream restuarant to have close by.
I love this series, always makes me in a good mood. I've 7 episodes behind tho. So that's good I got many to watch, haven't watched in 11 months... strange, I must have watched older episodes
Thank you for making all these videos. Japan is such a precious place. I admire their work ethnic, politeness, and just overall aesthetic. Very beautiful culture and people.
Something I really find cool about Japanese culture (well, what I've learned watching Paolo's videos 😅) is that small business owners are always committed to customer service, they are very kind and so respectful, which is very different from my culture (I'm from Latin America, specifically I live in Colombia) where small business owners (not all of them, but a great amount of them) are quite rude to customers and very lazy, like they don't care about their businesses, they are just worried for their wallets and bad paying to their employees. Great videos Paolo, always waiting for more content
Went to Japan last year. I am 62 and "hit" a lot of places like this. I am so amazed by Japanese culture. Just the best! I think I will split all my time between the states, Mexico and Japan. You get the best of everything...a bit of the EU too. Great vid! Thank you
Finally get to see inside a real "late night" restaurant. This is so great the atmosphere is excellent. No one would feel lonely walking into this place.
Out of all of the day in the life video's you have done, this by far happens to be my personal favorite one yet. I just loved how community oriented this izakaya truly is and I can't wait to step foot on it one day, and if I do, I hope to gift this wonderful staff a bit of Spotted Cow beer from Wisconsin.
Your videos are always fascinating! I really loved this one. I know it’s a small glimpse but it seems restaurant kitchen culture is much healthier than in the US.
I’m so inspired by her work ethic! Everything is throughly thought out and that perfection in details show she really cares about her customers from her heart. Thou tremendous work load for one person!! I wish her all the best❤
This is probably my favorite Day in the Life video! Her business acumen seems extremely accurate adding that to her people skills, perfect mix for entrepreneurship.
I was enamored with her tranquility of her work ethic. She makes it look so smooth and elegant, while zooming around to her customers and managing everything. Its like watching a ballet, or listening to a symphony. A social butterfly would be the correct term. Yuka has definitely earned her restaurant and it shows in her work ethic and it shows how proud she is I cannot help but sincerely appreciate what she does daily. Paolo, this segment was on top my friend. I hope you do a future episode for an update on Yuka in the future.
I have experience working in hospitality for 10 years and I will say from experience, finding such places is rarae and once you do. They are a real gem of a place. Man, I remember such a place. I couldn't stop working there. The energy there was magical! Augh...this brings back memories. 🥲 Also, this place looks like a very chill place for the Japanese to open up. Rarely I get to see them be this 'wild'. Huh...interesting.
I would like to thank you for making these videos. They not only show a glimse of how Japanese lifestyle is, but you have showed many places to go that are not "tourist traps", giving us the real deal with food and entertainment and anywhere else one can visit properly while visiting Japan. Keep up the great work.
I love the alpha female spirit within her. 💗 Respect🙇♂ Yukaさん、お疲れ様です。 あの素敵な場所をいつかフィリピンの方々にも見てもらえたら嬉しいです!!! Thanks, Pao, for showing us this side of the world. More Power to you!
I was invited by a coworker to this place a while back. It was a lot of fun and Yuka-San as well as the rest of the staff were very nice! I haven't been here for a long time, but I'd love to come back!
Wow, that is a tonne of work man. She literally does everything. How does she even manage? Great episode by the way. So lively and I have never seen this side of Japan night life despite being to Tokyo so many times. Will want to explore this scene the next time I visit!
When she said "who want's a beer", I paused the screen and got a beer from the refrigerator. "Kampai!" From an American, currently on business in Germany, who lived in Japan for 14 years, who works Kuwait, whose house in in the Philippines!
This is really well done! I thought it was impressive that you were able to capture the vibe with the camera without disrupting the flow + the interactions of the customers. And it was really interesting to see her life as an izakaya owner. I can only imagine how much she pays in rent!
She must have some ancestors from Poland :) drink with customers all evening and keep a clear mind, bravo! The coolest thing about this restaurant is that it gives the impression that it was a party organized by friends in their own apartment. Everyone is having a great time, the owner joins in the fun instead of standing there with a sad face and tapping her foot when they leave. I would like to have such a place near my place of work or residence.

With the hair, makeup and Kimono just getting ready for work everyday is a massive effort. Nevermind actually running the business, very impressive
Thank you for this recommendation, we went to her restaurant a couple of weeks ago during our trip to Japan and it was phenomenal! Yuka was so awesome, the food and experience was incredible
This video along with Moe and Sutan’s day in the life video has to be my favorite in the series so far. They portray the traditional Japanese culture so beautifully, and I adore the kimono’s
Yep! Have you seen the one about Day In Life Japanese Casino worker with Kento? Another really terrific person doing a splendid job!
Yuka is incredible. She carries herself with such poise, and you can tell that her staff and customers are not only friendly with her but deeply respectful of her.
Loving her Charisma. She was meant for this. I wish she succeeds further and further in life.
This is my top 10 day in the life episode. Loved it.
Good food, good atmosphere, good people, good fun will make for a successful business. Everyone seem to be enjoying themselves so much. Employees seem to enjoy working there too. Great video!
Yuka-san is such a wonderful, passionate person! She deserves all the success with how consistently hard she works. More power to her, her staff, and her customers ❤
Yuka is so awesome I love how positive she is, very hardworking but also has a lot of fun doing so
Wow, how amazing for her to achieve her dreams and make a name for herself!
She seems so friendly. The staffs and customers interaction makes me so happy. I wish other countries have staff who will be friendly like this
i respect this women a lot very elegant, hard working, nice, i hope she gets lots of succes
you really could see and feel that she is not only doing it "for work and earning money" but she really likes it and loves what she is doing and this pure energy also kinda pushes her staff :-D and the customers feel that as well
She puts in so much effort before her official work actually starts. It's a lot and you can tell she really cares about what she does.
Yuka makes me think of Michiba Rokusaburo. Quietly exuding tradition, attention to detail, and pursuit of excellence. Traits of a modest legend.
I love this series, always makes me in a good mood. I've 7 episodes behind tho. So that's good I got many to watch, haven't watched in 11 months... strange, I must have watched older episodes
These day in the life videos make my day! Thank you for your passion and kindness and showing us these places in an informative and respectful way.
She's delightful, and it's so heartwarming to see how much she honours her grandmother.
My favourite videos you do are the "day in the life" and "behind the counter" series. This was a 2-in-1! Excellent!
Went to Japan last year. I am 62 and "hit" a lot of places like this. I am so amazed by Japanese culture. Just the best! I think I will split all my time between the states, Mexico and Japan. You get the best of everything...a bit of the EU too. Great vid! Thank you
Dang Yuka is a boss. She has a no nonsense yet personable aura.
Finally get to see inside a real "late night" restaurant. This is so great the atmosphere is excellent. No one would feel lonely walking into this place.
We need more content like this!!! I watched this with pure joy, love the positive energy and the daily life of their jobs. 👍🏼
Wow! I loved this one. Yuka is so graceful & so hardworking! Wishing her more & more success.
Good way to start the Weekend, Day in the Life!
her energy is so laid back and chill
Out of all of the day in the life video's you have done, this by far happens to be my personal favorite one yet. I just loved how community oriented this izakaya truly is and I can't wait to step foot on it one day, and if I do, I hope to gift this wonderful staff a bit of Spotted Cow beer from Wisconsin.
I'm forever jealous of Japan and it's amazing culture. I get to visit Japan for 2 weeks per year and it is never enough.
She walked so confident, what a amazing woman to look for
Yuka is such a strong, classy, intelligent and hard working woman. Really admire her. She is so well rounded in all areas
Yuka is a real one. I wish her the best on all her endeavors~
Japanese culture is so beautiful. ❤
She seems so powerful and composed it’s really impressive
This day in life might be my most favorite one, make me want to write a story on it, that and the bread and ramen maker.
I love this video ~ wonderful to see such a successful business woman and how much her guests appreciate her service ❤
I salute her. Lover her energy amd hospitality and a hardworker too. She really enjoy it!
I love how the Japanese puts a lot of pride in anything and everything they do. Prfoessionally and personally, what a great culture.
This looks like so much fun! Thank you for sticking it out for a long night to make this video. I miss Japan and hope to go back soon.
I have experience working in hospitality for 10 years and I will say from experience, finding such places is rarae and once you do. They are a real gem of a place. Man, I remember such a place. I couldn't stop working there. The energy there was magical! Augh...this brings back memories. 🥲
Also, this place looks like a very chill place for the Japanese to open up.
Wow! What a woman! It’s true how either you’re married to a person or your job. In her case, her business. Mid 30 and still going strong.
I love the alpha female spirit within her. 💗 Respect🙇♂
Yukaさん、お疲れ様です。
あの素敵な場所をいつかフィリピンの方々にも見てもらえたら嬉しいです!!!
Thanks, Pao, for showing us this side of the world. More Power to you!
I was invited by a coworker to this place a while back. It was a lot of fun and Yuka-San as well as the rest of the staff were very nice! I haven't been here for a long time, but I'd love to come back!
I think this is one of my favorite episode of a day in life from Paolo. Simply amazing.
This was one of your best episodes yet. Keep it up Paolo!
The hell 😮 she drinks and gives the hifi level service with stable compusure
She's got one of the most GENUINE smiles I've ever seen! Another great video, Paolo :)
I've owned a bar for nearly 30yrs...and If i drank with my customers as much as she does.. I'd be passed out before midnight.
What a wonderful yet very different style of a restaurant. I'm surprised more people don't want food all night. another good one palo
