I LOVE this place! Love the location. Would love to make this my home.

That would make a gorgeous home! Fix the flooring where the termites damaged it, treat against future termite damage, and make a few updates (kitchen andtake down partition in front room) and that would make a splendid home. It saddens me to see such nice places, especially with that much noty pine in them, being abandoned and left to rot.

I certainly can see this being a home again and it is really strange it has not been given another chance!!! Hopefully someone gets it and makes it shine again! :-)

It was like a holiday rental. That little cubby in the kitchen looks like it was originally for wood and the shelving unit next to it was originally a fireplace or wood cook stove.

Hi UI!... You are one of my favorite abandoned structure explorers, as you do a great job with filming, and that includes your audio style. What a neat, little house/business. Love all the fireplaces, and the wood throughout. Will look forward to more of your videos... Chuck

That log cabin feel in that place was really Kool. The paper lantern shade is called a Chinese lantern shade. It's unfortunate someone has gone in and messed up the floor. That place definitely was transformed into some type of business. The partition was probably added in that huge room. The location is the best. Love this place. Thank you so much for sharing with us.

Love the extension to the house. Great view too. I believe the shelf part in the kitchen was a fireplace at one time. Too bad about the termites. That place would still be liveable.

Hi Sharon :-) Yeah something must be worse than meets the eye and you could be on the money with the termite. Such a nice spot and very in tact house the is doing nothing but gathering dust and cobwebs now. Thanks for watching :-)

The Bathroom door is so neat, and that fireplace mantle, 💗. I saw that little pass thru sliding door/cubby and thought, sample goes to next room for testing. So many possibilities. I like a good drive to nowhere in particular and then finding something unexpected like this. Thank you for sharing.

This house has great bones. I love those hard wood floors. I think it started out as a family home. When the family moved out it was turned to an office or public building for the park. I love the large Windows and fire places. At least it got a second chance at life. Now in the name of progress it will be torn down eventually. Great explore, sort of a boring style home. I am glad you document these lost lonely places.

Great little gem in the woods. I enjoy watching your videos. This little place definitely has big charm. I lived in a house growing up that had a very small closet in the upstairs bedroom. B&B, hunting cabin, equestrian club, info or meeting place for walks, treks or even neighbouring farmers to meet while they all pool together for hay making. Whatever it was used for it's a really neat piece of history and I hope they use it again someday.

Very tasteful little place! The room in the back must have been the living room, or what you might say, the lounge? Japanese lanterns. To me it looks like a hunting lodge, all the wood, and the Housekeeper cabinet and all. I think the little pass way is to slide tea, food or drinks from the kitchen to the dinning room or the parlour for the head of the household or guests. Just think back when the front of the house was built, things were done differently in those days. I would put that mantle piece in my house even if I didn’t have a fireplace, witch I do. The type and quality of the wood is outstanding!

Oriental Moon lantern, unusual choices in lighting fixtures, I would take a pop at 1885-1905, originally a settlers residence, re purposed as a business retreat. Named doors indicate public access, as you see in public spaces. The character of the wood is stunning.
I would guess conference center, The rooms feel like meeting spaces. We could ask the Ghosts i suppose. Well done

That opening would have been a "pass through" from the kitchen to the dining room, where "mom" could just pass through meals instead of carrying them all the way through the house, avoiding spills. That little closet in the "kitchen" was right next to where there should have been the fireplace (but now looks like shelves, the mantle still intact though), where wood/kindling would have been kept. And did you say "pest management"? That would bring a hearty laugh as the floor boards look to be eaten by termites lol That's probably why they went out of business. Couldn't even keep pests out of their own offices, couldn't be very effective anywhere else lol. This was a lovely little structure. Would be nice to see it as a home again. The addition was nice but the original house has all the charm. Thanks for uploading.

Hi FrankiesFancy thanks for watching! I think you may be right regarding the little window, seems very logical and convenient. Haha the pest management was a bit ironic, maybe that was the straw that broke the camels back and they though lets just start over somewhere else! Makes you wonder who owns this now though! Could be made a nice home again for sure! :-)

Very nice knotty pine❣ like my kitchen.
The lamp shade looks oriental. Very nice fireplace. Love it!
You think they wanted central heat and air coming up from the floors? Looks like it.
It would DEFINATELY make someone a nice home after termite removal and just a few renovations.
    Beautiful wood!
As always thank you for the free video tours.💝

I agree that the one fire place was beaut, the house don’t look as if it would need much fixing up but! If there is termites in the flooring that’s a different matter ☹️

I had one of those paper Homebase Lamp Shades Round White Paper that came folded and you pull it out, I'm Amazed it didn't cause fires back then before L.E.D globes that dont give out heat, Retro 1970s/80s. This house is Amazingly confusing, i can't figure out what it was used for like you P. I adore the woodwork, hopefully someone salvages the mantelpieces, doors and windows before the termites chomp. So cute on the outside. Thank you P. X hugs to "N"

What a beautiful find!! Perhaps the floor damage came from heating devices? And if it is termites they can do extensive damage that isn't seen till its too late. Even at that, if treated and repaired I believe this building could be restored to a lovely home. Thanks for sharing this great find :-).

    • @urbexindigo5164
      @urbexindigo5164  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Donelle thanks for watching :-) Yes the unseen damage by termites would explain why such a nice place has been abandoned and in a beautiful location too. Structure looks in really good shape so someone could make this their home again as you said.

Hey guys thanks for watching! :-) The camera I have been using of late is a Sony Nex vg20 and the lens is E mount 10-18mm wide angle great for inside homes. I also use a fisheye lens to get some of those motion sequences. But there is also a post production trick I use to sharpen the image. So the camera is quite good but I also sharpen the image in the editor. I will put all the details of the other bits and pieces in my "About" section on my channel :-)

The "hatch" was to pass food from the kitchen to the dining room.
The paper light shade in white very popular in the early 90's and fashionable during that time.

Maybe it was a small restaurant of some kind. The opening from the kitchen to the dining area would be where orders ready to serve would be set. Would probably need a laundry room to wash tablecloths, napkins, and wait staff uniforms or aprons. Appears they blocked off what was part of a front room previously to use for storage or supplies. The kitchen once had a fireplace which was boarded up and shelves were made in it. The small door to the left was probably where wood was kept for the fireplace. Yes, I guess my imagination ran off with me on this place. Nice find. Enjoyed this video.

They were very popular paper lampshades in the 1960's 70's. You bought them flat and popped them open. Every second house had them. They came in various sizes. A cheap way of decorating. When new, they looked quite good.

Those things are called "ugly" hehe!
Maybe the place was related to the park you said was close by. The reno's look late 80's early 90's when parks got alot of funding to do stuff?? The little window in the wall was servery hatch into the dining room. Maybe national parks own it? Be a nice house for sure.

Haha yeah strange lighting fixture selection! I think you could be right, seems to be some sort of information or meeting offices. The names on the bathroom and laundry suggest a public or work gathering venue. Thanks for watching mate.

Very remote but a stunning location.
4:53 maybe they were making a Retreat.
    Cheap paper lampshade 😁
I think they ran out of money 😁
The back extension looks like a reception area.
    Its a mystery,....intriguing
