Abandoned- Lonely old country farm house on a hill left to decay. What happened here?

  • Hey house lovers and explorers!
This video I am still out in rainy cold Victoria where I found an eerie looking old 30`s bungalow style farm house that sits on the side of a hill.
Vacant for a long time it seems probably the late 80`s or early 90`s. The old place is weathered and weary but has cool old things left including art deco features and also old wainscoting which made me think it was added to at some point in the 30`s.
The place has very old sheds that were made of logs and I really wonder about who lived here and if they passed away leaving the home to just decay away gradually.
This was another cool explore for me and I hope you all enjoy it too. Cheers for watching :-)

I love how you get excited finding a treasure in the middle of nowhere. It’s a shame that with time people pass and the children move away. The home must’ve been beautiful In it’s day, now left to decay and nature takes it back. That is why I watch these videos. I have the chance to visit things I would never would have had the pleasure to view amazing homes. Thank you for sharing your hobby Paul. It truly appreciated.

Thanks for your surprise find. I watch Urbex videos from all over the world. Sometimes it makes me sad to see the homes abandoned when someone passes on or has to leave a home. My place will be like that, I like that you share architectural and mechanical details in your videos.👍

Agree with you, Frank. Paul really does an excellent job pointing out the architectural features and the associated era's - such as the door handles migrating up and down the door. My Auntie's house was a pre-war and all the doors had the handles high up! We were told, as kids, it is so we could not get into the lounge to eat the "visitor's" biscuits and chocolates!

I can see kids playing on the swings running around giggling, as I imagine how this home would have been.
The carpets were pretty for a farm house.
Also how old is the womans weekly! One classic mag still a good read.
There's nothing like a Canadian club by the fire while camping to warm the soul!!!!

What a neat home. So sad that someone has left it to rot away. Here in the US, many places have a significant lack of affordable modest family homes like this. If I could find a property like this with the house in better shape, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Great video, as always.

I remember ripping the old linoleum up to replace it and finding newspaper under it. Daddy would save it to read later on as reading material was not in our budget. We moved into old houses and fixed them up in exchange for the rent. Nothing as bad as this one but some were in pretty bad shape. When the landlord decided it was nice enough to charge rent, Daddy would find another and off we would go again. This was a nice little farmhouse when it was in better shape.

Forests of cypress grow in the swamps of the American south. Under the moonlight, with Spanish moss and ground fog, the swamps are terrifying. Lots of frogs too. Thanks for the memories. 😊

hi, Paul. I just love the. videos you respectfully show, from Australia. I loved Adelaide, but so sad about such history being dumped away, and these country ones sure show the other side of life: hard work for very frugal living. this place looks comfortable originally, ( except for outhouse!). it is very simple tho, and make do feeling to it. good grief , the livingroom looked as tho it had the same linoleum as my husband's upstairs bedroom, when I moved in his farmhouse. it was very old. 26 years later we tore it out, and there was a beautiful old wood floor beneath!!! thank you for a reprieve and historical journey, also.

    Hi Paul
This place has seen better days. It’s a small cottage. It looks like only 2 people could have
lived there. I only saw 1 bedroom, the one that had the wall pulling away from the house.
Hey Paul I live on Long Island in the state of New York, I was just wondering what the time
difference is? I figure about a day and a half, I’m just curious. Getting back to the house
all of the rooms are small. And it is really secluded from other homes. Maybe these people
who lived here were hermits. Inside the house they had a bathtub but if you had to go do
business you had to go outside the house to the outhouse. I give the video 5 star rating.
