For my turkey burgers I grate in an onion for moisture and then I like to season with worcestershire sauce, dijon mustard, parsley (or cilantro), and garlic as a base.
May I just say that I found Preppy Kitchen a week or two ago (I'm a weird teenager who likes cooking videos), and this has already become one of my favorite cooking channels? This man is a treasure trove of beautiful content and he's really entertaining Thanks for existing
You are/were an amazing teenager. What you eat now determines how you live and feel as an adult. Also you will be a badass cook sooner than you think. In a few years you know.
I love adding paprika to my turkey burger and pretty much the rest of the ingredients you have here. :) BUT, for me, it has to be a truly Spanish smoky paprika. Look for paprika de la vera. This spice can produce some delicious tapas too... sautee mushroom with it. A Spanish aioli with mayo, garlic and paprika de la vera - which I love to serve with simply roasted sliced potatoes that have a sweet kiss of a brush of olive oil and salt & pepper.
Hey John! I don’t know if you will reads this but my name is Nadia and my family loves the lemon tart I made from your channel. But, my uncle wants me to sell him a Lime tart and a lemon tart! But I really just trust your recipes so could you make a video on lime tarts by July(11) because I will make them then and sell them to him July 12
To ensure that the meat cooks evenly, make a thumbprint indentation into each patty before it goes on the grill. The indentation helps the patty hold its shape-rather than swelling-as it shrinks during cooking.
I tried your receipt today. I made minor changes. I eliminated the Worcester sauce. Instead, I used a tablespoon of olive oil and 2 scallions (green onions) instead of the onion powder. And I added Jelopino pepper (I like things spicy) and more herbs from my garden ( basil and cilantro). I gotta tell you, it was super delicious. I wouldn't want to eat it any other way. Thank you so much!!
We saw this in Cooking Light magazine (JoAnn Stanford). You should try it. It's more tasty than hamburger. Ingredients for burger: 0.25 cup chopped green onions 2 Tbsp fresh orange juice 1 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce 1 tsp peeled and finely chopped ginger 1 garlic clove minced 1 lb. ground turkey breast cooking spray 1. Combine first six ingredients in a large bowl. Divide turkey mixture into 4 patties. 2. Place the patties on a grill. (Though this works well in a frying pan.) Cook 6 minutes on each side (or until done) Special sauce ingredients: 0.75 cup reduced fat mayonnaise 1.5 Tbsp finely chopped green onions 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard 1 Tbsp honey 1 tsp fresh orange juice 1 tsp low sodium soy sauce 0.5 tsp peeled and finely chopped ginger Combine all ingredients for special sauce Make ahead and refrigerate 2 Tbsp per patty Serve on whole wheat buns

I just subscribed a day, or so, ago. Everything on the channel looks yummy. Joke question: Can you show you us how to make chimken nuggets for good doggos?
I made these today. I didn't add the egg, but they were delicious. One other minor change. I didn't have Italian breadcrumbs, so put a tablespoon of Italian dressing. the next time, I think I will try a Cajun turkey burger or a Buffalo turkey burger.
I use small bottles for my spices, especially garlic powder. I have little space for things in the kitchen and my garlic powder clumps up easily, so having a small container makes it easier to finish before it gets hard. Sorry John 😅
I saw the tongs but then "the" spatula made a reappearance. I'm sure it wasn't the same one that made contact with the uncooked or partially-cooked turkey, at least not without washing/sterilizing first. Salmonella is not your friend, esp. for children. No cilantro or parsley for us but otherwise great recipe.
Ohhhhhh my goodness. This is my way of making hamburgers all the time for many many years. I add nutmeg and allspice and a little cinnamon to this and to almost all my food. This is our traditional middle eastern way.💖💖💖😊

I like to buy large spice bottles as well. I have a Sam's club size jars of chili powder, garlic, onion etc. any spice I use often I buy bulk size, it's actually cheaper in the long run and I might as well.
Great recipe as always but have to disagree about herbs and spices. I think it's better to buy small so that you have a regular turnover and always have fairly recently bought for freshness and flavour.
When I make turkey burgers I add sausage which helps flavor fatten up the turkey seasoning with fennel seed garlic powder onion powder salt and pepper panko bread crumbs and blackening seasoning top with cheese of choice and a toasted bun is a must
It’s true about the small spice bottles lol I need the big bottles that’s why I never put my spices in nice clear labeled bottles lol. I’d be having to refill too often. 😅
Just made this and the burgers were awesome!! Thanks! Also did a cranberry / aoli sauce (mayo, sea salt, minced garlic, lime juice, cranberry sauce), with feta and spring mix greens. It was a great salty/sweet combo.
cant go wrong with diced bell peppers, jalapenos, and onions/shallots. Sometimes ill go with taco seasonings if i plan to use avocados and sauteed veggies
John, I love your recipes. One thing I do when adding cheese to my burgers is fold in each corner just a little, so you don’t waste any melted cheese on the frying pan.
I just made these & they turned out super yum! I substituted crumbled gluten-free table crackers with some Italian herb mix for the pre-seasoned bread crumbs and it worked great.
I made this recipe last night for dinner and my husband grilled the patties ………OH EM GEE. Sooooo delicious ! It truly was , “the opposite of dry!” Thank you so much for sharing 💕
how did you know I currently have a pound of ground turkey I need to use!! lol
Perfect timing!
This was insanely good I have four kids all of them approved!! 🎉❤ Thanks John!
Tasty also with a half teaspoon of poultry seasoning. A hint of stuffing flavour.

A small tip. Leaving a dimple in the middle of any burger patty does help to combat the shrinking. Thank you for the recipe!
