Hi Alison, I am so happy that your channel popped up in my feed. Finally I have found someone who can explain things brilliantly and so easy to follow. I’ve been binging on your videos. Thank you so much for sharing because you have made this old girl who is just starting down this road of abstract and mixed media very happy. Maybe now I’ll stop making a mess and nothing else. So glad I subscribed. 😊❤
Maria. Thanks for letting me know that you are enjoying the videos! Great to know that they may inspire and help you on your road
I’m finding your videos invaluable to my own work. Thank you!
thank you for letting me know!
I could watch this over and over again! Love the process and the reflective commentary!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you, Alison. That’s a really helpful tutorial.
This is fabulous… thank you for sharing. I loved seeing the development through and beyond the awkward stages. Loved the layers and explanation as you applied each piece. I learned heaps ❣️
This is just wonderful Alison. Thank you so much for the tutorial I’ve learned so much and would like to do this myself. What a gem! Very grateful x
Thanks Lorelei!
I’m going to be coming back to this wonderful tutorial as often as I need to soak it all in. It is basic knowledge to acquire no matter what media you are working (0r playing in🙂) Thank you for sharing this…this knowledge will be something I will use everyday, consciously or unconsciously 😀
great to know you find this helpful in your own practice!
I learn so much from you. Thank you.
Just superb! The way you explain the thought process behind not only which piece but why you chose it is what make you a talented artist and a gifted and generous teacher. Thank you for my many “Aha!” Moments.
Lesley Anne--you are welcome--glad you enjoyed the video!

Wonderful to hear and see your thought by thought and piece by piece process. I love the finished piece! Thanks for a helpful tutorial.
glad you find it helpful!
Really wonderful video. Truly enjoyed watching your process and listening to your thinking as the piece evolves intuitively. Thanks so much !
Thanks for sharing your process. Your work is fascinating.
Beautiful loved watching this
I love what you do so much. Thank you for sharing .
Sue--you are very welcome--thanks for letting me know you enjoyed the video
So intuitive
Great composition and value study!
thanks Lindy!
Love how you teach !!! 🥰
Thanks Kerri-Ann
I haven’t recovered from your last video of mark making where after 10 layers the painting looked nothing like the layers…. It was painful to see favourite s covered up as you acknowledged. I don’t quite understand why you would collage a black block instead of painting it on. I need work to deal with feelings of wasted paint, wasted effort and mistakes. You’re incredible.
great questions....I find collage often helps me simplify--not having the brush in my hand takes away so many choices
I can see tomorrow I will be painting on tissue paper to be prepared to try this. Thank you. I seldom simplify....this will be a challenge.
Thank you for such a useful video,I enjoyed it very much.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you!!
glad you enjoyed this!
This is exactly the video I needed.
(:
great! Glad you found it helpful
Your collagen value painting looks great. It turned out fabulously.
What did you use for tissue paper?
Sandy F.
I used plain white tissue paper;
What is the matte medium you use that sticks the tissue paper to the surface? Like a clear Gesso or a “Mod Podge” glue type product? I am glued to this video. Fascinating and very inspiring. Thank you for posting it.
I use golden matte medium.
Nice
This seems like part 2 of something prior. What is the Prior video that shows how to make this?
I didn't film the first part of this. But the process was part of demo I did on monochrome painting, working with black and white (and midtowns) with an emphasis on building a full value range.

Hello, Is this on fabric, or paper?

@@alisonwatt8570 thank you so much… I tried to see if you had a previous video on the marked tissues… they were gorgeous…
Sorry I miss your course but I’ll definitely be there next time…l
