1200 sounded like a really good deal actually. You did what you could with what you got from the customer, hope the machine works nice and that he comes back for at proper rebuild!
I'd've probably sent that thing packing as soon as he said that he wanted to cheap out. Sure, he might've been upset but I couldn't have it hanging over my head if the engine failed. A good reputation takes a lot of time and effort to build, you're very blessed to have that. It's kind of a rock and a hard place (no pun intended 🤣), but that's just my 2 cents. Thanks for doing the best you could for him, and here's to another year of great content! 👍
Ir's not right. You requested maintenance and gave Rock the authorization to do so. You won't find anyone better or cheaper in this area! PAY THE BILL!
At least you filmed it if the guy gives you grief you can give him the link to your video , On that repair i would of told him to pick it up your in a no win situation
All the Niche stuff ive used has worked really well. 1200 is a good quote in my opinion. Id love to have you go through my 05 500, id have complete confidence in your work. Never have i saw gaskets, valves, wheel bearings, overall just neglect/lack of knowledge on engine repair as what this person done and dropped in your lap.
I would definitely do what makes the customer happy with the understanding they get what they pay for and nothing less or you could give him the guaranteed of 30 seconds or 30 feet
wow, if i lived in america or wherever you are i would totally work with you im currently rebuilding the top end on my 1996 honda 300 and your videos have helped me quite alot.
Can only do what the customer wants to pay for. Documentation of what was needed and recommended is the way to go. Thats how i do it with my small business.
Nice who’s fields and tractors family property? Love the trails around your place wish you where closer I’d be a regular customer prolly since I do powersports and so do my friends😊
You were pretty damn generous to the customer! Maybe you'll head out to MT Washington on June 29 for NH ATV Day, I'm sure riders would love to meet you.
I have Polaris Sportsman 500 2004 have to work on if every week I have a toggle switch for the fan because the fan doesn't turn on by itself anymore but other than that it's a pretty good working machine.the headlights don't work on it had to put a light bar on it lol n my kids always drive it hard n go all out of it lol
That’s a tough one for sure.. I do repairs on mowers and atvs too and I make them understand that if it’s not done how it should be then it has a concrete warranty.. leaves my concrete no more warranty.. enjoy your channel. PS. Your to cheap on labor! lol
People tell me I’m cheap on labor costs with the mechanic work i do but as long i make it worth my time i like to think I’m priced fair and i stay plenty busy as well
Atvs are a luxury item. $1200 was more than fair and to get any type of warranty is an extremely fair price. If he took this to a dealer i am sure his bill would be north of $5,000. Hopefully the motor lasts a good while
$1200 seems more than reasonable. I had the top end rebuilt on grizzly 600 and they charged me $2400. Sure wish you were closer. By the way, my grizzly has 14,165 miles on it.
The owner probably figured throw it back together and sell it to some unsuspecting buyer. How's the reliability of the polaris 570? Seen any major issues?
Yeah that's a tough one, but i was taught like others im sure to do it right or don't do it at all. I want to fix my own stuff right especially someone else's, I don't get why someone would take a chance and not pay to have it done right.
Man! I do those top ends for 1,400.. Included is wiseco piston new bore, new Valves, valve job, oils on tranny engine diffs, Fuel lines and such, If it needs more than that price starts to go up more.. Good job tho but you're barely making money on labor 🙏
@@rockspowersports yep, The thing is doing a budget build when you tell the customer you can't help him if something goes bad they'll agree just to get a good deal but at the end of the day when 💩 hits the fan they'll still be unhappy ☹️🙏
I would tell them the problem has to be fixed right or not fixed by me, If it blows up most won't remember what you told them. It's not like you are high priced, I would have let it sit until I could afford to pay you to do it your way
The customer just wasted money by doing 1/2. 1 thing with ATV's you're out in the middle of nowhere I would want to be as reliable as possible. I would've found the money somewhere or it would've waited tell I had it and had the job done proper. But that's just me. If u want to play u have to pay.
yes if the customer don't want to spend the money to do the job right i would put it back together and till him to come and get it that you ain't going to risk your reputation on a half ass job.Yes they will be upset with you but end of the day is your business there are more willing people out there will pay to get the job done right, wouldn't want something hanging over my head knowing it could fail
You do stuff super cheap and with this i see exactly that bad spot you're in. One thing I realized in business is you can't keep helping people out like this because you're running a business not a charity. Then when it breaks you get a bad name when all you did was bend over backwards for the customer.
That's all of them today. 45 minutes gust to get to the spark plug It's ridiculous. You can't see what's going on if something's starting to leak or come loose plus you can't get all the mud off the engine Oh but it looks so much better😂 Much rather have the whole engine light open.

What an amazing bargain at 1200, never mind the $635! I wish you weren't in the next state over!

Do you know of a way to clear codes on skidoo without buds

If a person dont take care of their machine, they cant be upset when the machine doesnt take care of them.
