Dreams is the first app I've ever preordered. I know that's kinda unnecessary for a digital app. It's not going to "limited quantity" at launch, but I love Procreate and am thrilled to support the Dev team! I am so, so excited for this app. Similarly, I have little to no experience in animation, but my daughter and I have started making plans. Her first demand is a video of her with Fairy wings.
I feel the same way about preordering as well but I did yesterday! I’ve been super excited about this for a while! Only a few more hours until it releases! Can’t wait! Like a kid on Christmas morning! lol

Pretty sure there were other people explaining to others how it works in the background, there are iPads with dreams on it there. So the chatter is only logical.

Hi! I was there, and it was kind of a drop-in space rather than a lecture hall that you book to enter. There were a few dozen iPads out specifically for people to try Dreams while Lisa gave her demo at the front. The speakers amplified her voice so anyone at the front watching could hear while folks at the back played with and discussed Dreams with ProCreate staff. It sounds rude on video but I promise it was a lovely atmosphere!
Thank you Lisa for this demo! When I watched the official demo I was blown away, but also not sure if Dreams would be something for me. It looked like something that true animation lovers would want. But with this demo my mind is exploding with possibilities. And it also expands the ways of being creative just for the fun of it. I just pre-ordered and can't wait to try it out myself!

Hello Lisa, thanks for this amazing tutorial. I have a question. Can we export video in .gif format in case we want to export animations with transparent background? It is there in Procreate. If no then can we expect this feature in future since it is very basic feature needed in an animation app.

you gave a decent explanation for frames and key frames! so keyframes are what my teacher called “the storytelling frames/poses”. Each key frame should give a good example of what’s going on in the story, (almost like a storyboard), and just by those key frames you should have an idea of what’s going on in this animation before adding in like in betweens and such. You explained it well too!
QUESTIONS Wow!! The video you created is amazing! I'm brand-new to ipad. I have 10th gen 10.2. The main reason I got it is to draw, paint, design jewelry etc. Procreate is amazing. Which apps do I need along with Procreate. Also, do I pay for Procreate? If I do, is that for all time, for a year?? Do you have a video answering these questions?
After you're done animating over a video, if I wanted to zoom into a part of the video, is there a way to make it so the animation is grouped with the video? So I don't have to manually move / scale the animation frame by frame to match the video?
I wish Dream version had animated filters, the "noise" is static from what I saw. I wish also Dream would import 3D to paint object and make 3D animation with animated painted filter, with easy rig (something inspired by animoji), this would be a dream, I never saw an app doing it.
Great demo. Thanks for all your videos…I made my first animation over a video clip, but I cannot get it to export without random black screens. Is this just me? I’m using my iPad mini. I also can’t seem to group videos with animated tracks.
Glad you are enjoying the videos! I think the issue with the black frames is one that has been acknowledged by Procreate: folio.procreate.com/discussions/4/10/58120 I just did a test grouping a video track and animation track and that worked for me. What was happening for you?

It would be great if people could be able to transfer the animation to finalcut pro and DaVinci resolve to edit into a full-length blue ray movie that they did on Procreate Dreams .
When I export my video, the audio works and the animatios works too. But the image of the video shows as white picture only? How do I fix this? Can you help me? Í´m very frustated
Depends on the video file. I had no issue using Prores 422 files for video in Dreams. It was surprising how easily it worked. You can always use a USB-C SSD too if you need more space.
Awesome presentation, although I wish whoever did the level on this mic (and/or the plugins chain to tame it) was a bit more aware of the volume and the harshness of the top end. I should know, I sound like Daffy Duck on RedBull without any processing...
The fact that I keep finding doppelgangers for people I know yet I have not found someone who looks like me makes me sad. (Lisa looks exactly like someone ik that's why I put this in here)

The program filling in all the frames in-between keyframes is called tweening, which fills in the ‘tweens.. (short for in-between)

Procreate has not said you can do that this time. You can import a PSD into Procreate and you can import Procreate files into Dreams.
