Agree about the two 1 liter water bottles instead of the bag. I've never had a problem filling up a bottle, even from a shallow water source. And it's easier for me to filter the water this way.

Great video! So glad you posted, instead of scrapping it. You didn't mention it, so I'm guessing the knee was good on day 2(?) Btw, "IT Band" would be a great name if you ever gather some other computer/network guys to play music with. You can even switch from guitar to pump sack bagpipe! I picture the group playing in places with chicken wire in front of the stage. And when you're camping, hook up a practice chanter to the pump sack for guaranteed solitude! It's nice that such a pretty area is a state park, and didn't have to become a Superfund site. I'm sorry for the loss of your uncle. Your way of remembering him is very cool, and even benefits people you may never meet.

Looks like a beautiful area! Have you ever popped your bag liner using it to inflate your pad? Ive got one of those, and they just feel so flimsy. So sorry to hear about your uncle. But you're absolutely right, he's still there, with you. My father passed at 34. Barely 34. And he was a larger than life persona that people still talk about today. When I hit 35, it kinda rocked my world. Every day, I am reminded that he didnt have this extra day. If he had, what would he have done with it? What kind of impact would he have made? It keeps me productive and adventurous. Thanks for the video! -Dandelion

At 50 years old last fall I suffered a heart attack. And recently I signed up for trail stewardship on the river river trail in Southern Illinois. I'm taking care of a section of it and will be doing overnight backpacking on that section and who knows? Maybe next year in 22 I may even attempt to do the entire trail. Happy trekking
