I actually like the thought of Jensen Ackles as Batman a lot. 1) because I’m a huge Jensen Ackles fan. 2) because he’s old enough to have realistically fostered the 3 Robins and mentored Batgirl before Damian. 3) he already has a wealth of experience with the source material, and 4) he’s proven that he has the dedication required to do this. He was Dean Winchester for 15 years, and has also expressed a desire to be live action Batman. Edit: he can also do the voice really well. For those of you that haven’t heard it, PLEASE go watch The Long Halloween
There were 3 actors I strongly agree with, Alan Ritchson (1) Ben Barnes (2) Aaron Taylor-Johnson (3) but I would love to see Aaron as James Bond more than Batman.
I am going to be honest: Since David Corenswet is being cast as Superman, finding someone lesser known for the Dark Knight is something I am a bigger fan of. In all honesty, my favorite name thrown around is Ethan Peck, grandson of legendary actor Gregory Peck, whom some artwork of Bruce Wayne was modeled after. Not only does Ethan look the part, but he's physically big, friends with David, and I can buy seeing him going into stories like Court of Owls, Hush, Red Hood, Tower of Babel, Public Enemies, etc etc. I did buy Alan Ritchson for a minute after seeing his physicality in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, but he'd also make a great Green Arrow going by that performance. Maybe one day I'll do my casting and my version of James Gunn's DCU from what we know so far, but for now, I'm going with Ethan Peck.
For sure, Peck is my choice for DCU Batman as well. Good actor, his work on star trek is great as Spock, he's got the right build (and chin) like you said, he's definitely got the voice, around the right age to look similar to corenswets superman or play a litte older, and he's even said he wants to play Batman, I just hope his agent gets him an audition whenever casting begins
You guys are making a choice without looking at the height of the characters in the comics. In fact, David is 6'4ft and Batman logically should be 6'3ft, and putting Alan as Green Arrow makes him bigger and taller than Batman.
@@imed-ha77 I really don’t like to be so worried about heights of fictional characters but it was weird seeing Bruce be taller than Clark in the Snyder movies And I shouldn’t have a problem with Green Arrow being taller if it’s the right actor for the role But sometimes characters and actors heights and physicality should be considered like ai couldn’t imagine a super tall and muscular actor like Alan Ritchson playing such an agile character like Green Arrow and same when people suggest really tall people to play Nightwing (an acrobat) and Hal Jordan (a pilot) in the real world people in those areas would not be over 6 feet probably (I’m assuming)
@@imed-ha77 nah I think these guys could each do a pretty good job and if I was basing anything off looks it’s that these guys are all still young enough to play a father and be Superman’s peer unlike a Jon Hamm or Jensen Ackles But most importantly it is that they all look heroic unlike a lot of the past Batman actors not that there’s anything wrong with past choices but some of them have gone for a little bit odd like Michael Keaton, Christian Bale and Robert Pattinson I think this James Gunn will be the first to completely show him as the proper hero without hopefully losing what other actors have done in the more serious/grounded versions To conclude I have listed a bunch of tall guys but I think each could do a good job and I’ve seen them be able to play Bruce Wayne and Batman in other roles
Adkins is still my pick to this day. He’s a little on the older side now and hasn’t had the big roles but he has the look, physicality, and actual martial arts skill to be able to do the stunts. He’s my dream Batman over literally any of these other guys. But I know Gunn unfortunately won’t pick him. Deathstroke is a good mention though and I could see him pulling that off.
I never thought of it but now I can’t get over Aaron Taylor Johnson as Batman. He’d be amazing. He’s the right age, the right physique and he has the presence to play one of the most intimidating and complex superheroes.
The trend for batman is usually a well-known leading men whereas sups actor tend to be unknown, this is to create the dynamic that while they operate on the same moral code, Batman can go and do beyond what a mortal can do whereas Sups act within the boundaries of a man even if he is a god amongst them
@IWannaUnaliveMyself i respectfully disagree. watching him on Supernatural for 15 seasons showed a lot of his talent. but it wasn’t until The Boys when i was sold on this casting. he changed his whole demeanor for Soldier Boy and it showed me he can pull off Bruce
Jensen voiced the character only a handful of times. Even when asked if he would play Batman, he replied, "I don't know." Also, he looks nothing like Batman. The other candidates look more like Bruce Wayne. Since Jensen voices the animations, you want him to play Batman. You are all stupid.
Brandon Skenlar for Batman, Everyone on the list are too old and James Gunn already confirmed on a thread response that “Batman Superman age or couple years older”
Brandon Skenlar is only 33 years old. A Batman that young with Damian Wayne as Robin and a fully functioning Bat Family wouldn't make a goddamn bit of sense. Given every choice he's made so far, I'm pretty sure James Gunn is gonna try to keep things close to the source material. Batman will be in his late 30's at the youngest, early 40's at the oldest. In the Grant Morrison comics that James Gunn is basing DCU Batman on, Bruce Wayne was 42 years old.
@@ryancurrul7208 agree. Second choice would definitely be Gyllenhaal though, just out of curiosity as to how he’d play Batman. Nolan actually considered him for Begins back in the day!
Taron may be slightly too short to play Batman, but almost no-one complained that Hugh Jackman was WAY TOO TALL to play Wolverine despite looking the part physically otherwise

Say Pattison was DCU Batman or say The Batman stuff ended and the DCU Batman was by himself I’d be cool with a classic grey and black suit But also I wanna see a blue live action batsuit finally done right as well.
If I had a dollar for everytime this fancast gets brought up I would be as rich as Elon Musk and my answer to this fancast is always no. Dude can't act and has no range 😂
There’s 2 camps for Batman. One camp believes Batman should be really built up, power lifter like wrestler, a brawler. The other camp which I may firm believer in is Batman should be lean an Acrobat or gymnast. The reason, why is he created and uses the grappling gun as one of his main weapons. Why not fully utilizing it as more of a gymnast build. I really like Alan. I thought his Hawk in Titans was awesome and reacher was great. However, I believe Jake Gyllenhaal would be what Batman would look more like not built up like Alan. so my belief Jake Gyllenhaal would make a great Batman.
Wild idea: Never show Batman as Bruce Wayne. Always have him as some mysterious force of nature in other peoples stories. Then cast a different actor each movie.
that would take away from him being only human with no powers. and im pretty sure james gunn will wanna make a origins movie for each hero. superman first.
My DCU fan casting. Chris Pine as Hal Jordan. John Boyega as John Stewart. Tom Bateman as Batman. Matt Ryan as John Constantine. Austin Butler as Green Arrow. Adelaide Kane as Wonder Woman. Aldis Hodge as Martian Manhunter. Tom Cavanagh as Reverse Flash. Grant Gustin as Ray Palmer The Atom. Luke Evans as Sinestro. Alexandra Daddario as Zatanna. Zoey Deutch as Black Canary. Liam Hemsworth as Aquaman. Jharrel Jerome as Cyborg. Ashton Sanders as Jefferson Jackson Firestorm. Ralph Fiennes as Professor Martin Stein Firestorm. Maxwell Jenkins as Wally West Flash.
I like pretty much every actor that people have suggested to play the DCU Batman, but I still fully believe the actor who does get cast will be someone who isn't being fancasted. It's a neverending cycle of fans fancasting actors, then they cast an actor who nobody expects, leading to people going apesh*t (Keaton, Bale, Affleck, Pattinson), and I would bet money the same will happen here (regardless of whether its a known or unknown actor). 5’9 Batman is good when you don’t have to stand next to 6’5 Superman and a very likely same height or taller Wonder Woman. Brandon Sklener for Batman, Theo James is a good option too
I really think Alan is the best pick to play the character he’s hot off of reacher right now with that show being one of the most streamed shows on Amazon. If they casted him as Batman it would get a lot of eyes on the dcu and a lot of butts in seats when the movie released
I think Scott Adkins would also be a pretty good fit for this role since he might have the best martial arts skills out of everyone else , which is what everyone wants from batman , tbh .
I would say yes to (Alan Ritchson) as batman BUT he would make a GREAT AND I MEAN GREAT captain america. Also Jensen would be a good red hood I'm just saying.

Never considered Theo James until you guys mentioned him but I really like the possibility of him playing Batman. Dude showed he could be a really good Bruce Wayne in the Gentelmen tv series
ackles always gone be the number 1 choice imo he looks 35, already has the batman voice, he has played a gritty superhero, and played one of the world’s greatest “detectives” for 15 years
Scott Eastwood I haven’t seen enough from him to say “wow he is a great actor. “ Just because he is Clint’s son doesn’t mean crap. I don’t see the Charisma in him. Batman takes three things. You have to get the human side of him. The Dark Knight side and the Billionaire playboy mask side. My disappointment with Robert Pattinson is that he played a playboy in Cosmopolitan but who he did Batman, he didn’t do his Cosmopolitan performance as Bruce Wayne. That would have been perfect but Matt Reeves didn’t want to go in that direction. Also I feel the movie was too realistic. We need the gothic Dark Knight version back.
I could definitely see Ben Barnes as Bruce. For my pick, I would throw David Giuntoli's name in the ring. He does look like Bruce and has voiced him in Soulf of the Dragon and The Doom That Came To Gotham. WOuld love to see you do these videos for other characters like Wonder Woman or Green Lantern.
Jake gyllenhaul is an unexpected pick but it would certainly be interesting to see. I also like Theo James, Richard Madden but Aaron Taylor Johnson would be cool too.

@@somerandomfan2096 WAIT, REALLY! Looks like he was born to play this role!
@@CM1_SonicAndOtherStuff yes really and Jake Gyllenhaal Said He Would Love To Play Batman And Jake Gyllenhaal WILL PLAY THE DCU Batman!!
Scott Adkins & Patrick Wilson
Aaron Taylor-Johnson has BEEN my 1st pick from the beginning, I thought I was the only one that saw this
I just want a stand alone Batman Beyond movie 😭😭😭
Dont forget about michael fassbender. The man knows how to make people feel both sorry for and terrified of him.
I would say yes to (Alan Ritchson) as batman BUT he would make a GREAT AND I MEAN GREAT captain america. Also Jensen would be a good red hood I'm just saying.
Alan was basically already Batman in reacher, he would do amazing as Batman plus he’s built for it
Ritchson as Batman. Madden as Bond.
Ritchson as the New Cap in the MCU. I agree Madden as James Bond
Brandon Sklenar as batman. Ritchson as security guard . Madden as mr. Bean
Jensen voiced the character only a handful of times. Even when asked if he would play Batman, he replied, "I don't know." Also, he looks nothing like Batman. The other candidates look more like Bruce Wayne. Since Jensen voices the animations, you want him to play Batman. You are all stupid.
Never considered Theo James until you guys mentioned him but I really like the possibility of him playing Batman. Dude showed he could be a really good Bruce Wayne in the Gentelmen tv series
What about brandon Sklenar
ackles always gone be the number 1 choice imo he looks 35, already has the batman voice, he has played a gritty superhero, and played one of the world’s greatest “detectives” for 15 years
Rupert Grint!
Jensen Ackles should be Batman
Alan Richtson !!! After all the comic projects his worked on throughout his career, it’s time it’s deserved
That’s cool and all but Dylan o Brian would be the perfect night wing
Scott Eastwood is so underrated
Would Oliver Jackson Cohen be a good choice in playing Batman similar to how Christian Bale became Batman?
No he doesn’t look like Bruce
No.
@@NY1of1yes he does
Scott adkins being the batman is something I've dreamed of since a child
As a black man there is no need for a black Batman. It’s ok.
Reacher is that dude though!!! 🔥
Alan ritchson would killed it.
I agree 1000%
Pattinson was amazing as batman would like to see more of him although he probably wouldn't fit a light hearted batman
we dont know if they are going to a light heart batman
My top 3 picks.
1. Alan Ritchson
2. Oliver Jackson-Cohen
3. Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Jack Black
Grant Morrison uses they/them pronouns. Happy commenting!
Karl urban !! I'd love to see him as batman I think he'd kill it !
Josh Hartnett
Nice dark horse pick
Nah
Thad Castle as Batman would be kinda sick no lie
Nightwing, Red Hood, Jason Todd, Batgirl, Cassandra Cain, Spoiler and The Signal are my most wanted Bat Family characters!
There is only one actor who looks just like Batman and is comically accurate, and that is Scott Adkins.
Jake gyllenhaul is an unexpected pick but it would certainly be interesting to see. I also like Theo James, Richard Madden but Aaron Taylor Johnson would be cool too.
I can't wait for Damien Wayne!
Jensen ackles is the current best actor to play Batman ... period 🗣️
Tom Ellis should play Batman in James Gunn dceu movie
Gosling. He won't do it, but he is THE choice.
