My daughter teaches kindergarten in Portland, OR and she asked me to crochet some food for their play kitchen. I sent her a few things but I’m always looking for more patterns. I love that this book has different ethnic foods and since her class is multi cultural I have to get this book. I’m also sharing your video with her for the teaching tips❤️
I’m an art teacher in KY. Class sizes are too large for anything larger than a club for instruction. I really appreciated your daughter’s suggestions for the PreK & K-1 students. Thank you both ❤
Hi, Elise! I absolutely loved this video! Just recently purchased that book and I'm so excited to incorporate the amigurumi projects in my curriculum. I'm a mom of 5 and have been homeschooling for 15 years and counting. One of the many things I love about homeschooling is that you're always learning new ways to teach. Thank you and to your daughter Megan, for sharing your knowledge! It's obvious you two ladies are beautiful inside & out.😊
I love this!! I’m also a crochet homeschooler (we’re going into our fourth year) and recently started making food amigurumi to use in my home daycare. This video has such great ideas, thank you!
After watching your video I ordered the crochet cafe pattern book. I love it!!!!!! I have made a ton of food for my classroom play areas but this pattern book adds so much character to them!!
I am not a home schooler, but my kids have had a play kitchen since the age of 1. Now at the age of 7 it is still the thing that is played with the most, we are talking on daily basis. In my culture it is a staple of childhood, boys and girls have a play kitchen. I have chrochet a lot of stuff for the play kitchen and it's a joy to see how a new item recieved. I personally think that teaching our little one to cook, having them along in the kitchen is basis for establishing a healthy relationship to food. Mine has been with me in the kitchen since they were 3 months old. Touching ingredients, smelling them, tasting them, biting them. Play food is important! And a play kitchen is NOT just for girls!
That's wonderful! My kids always enjoyed playing in our play kitchen when they were little too! Two of my kids (one boy, one girl) really enjoy cooking now! 💓
@@EliseRoseCrochet it so cute when they are busy in their little kitchen corner cooking up all their favourite food. I think I will have to buy the book
I loved this video so much! All of the patterns are so cute! As a homeschool mom myself I thought all of your educational tips were great. I have five children ranging in age from 23 to 8 with four beautiful daughters (ages 23, 20, 15 and 12) and one adorable son (age 8) and have homeschooled now for 20 years. This is definitely a video I will share with other homeschool moms as well! ✏️ 📃 🧶❤️
That was so exciting!!! I just loved how that book was packaged and all the little goodies inside! I'm so glad that you found the channel!! Amigurumi addicts forever!! 😂😂😂
So adorable 😍 you must be so proud of your kids. That’s so special that you were able to be their teacher. Our daughter is homeschooling her three kiddos. I can’t wait to make them crochet food & share these ideas with her. Love your videos 😍 my husband goes to sleep every night listening to your voice because I’m watching your videos in bed before I go to sleep 😂 ⭐️
Awww! Thank you! It was such a privilege (and challenge) homeschooling my kids. I hope your daughter and her kids have a wonderful experience! And my husband falls asleep when I'm talking too! 😂😂😂
Crochet Cafe has been sitting in my Amazon cart since I stumbled across it. This made me stop the video, purchase it, then continue watching your video. Imgoing to have to start selling the things I make, just so I can fund more Amigurumi books 😂
The pancakes are adorable!!! How sweet, to receive such a wonderful gift! I can tell how much you're enjoying it already! What yarn did you use for your food amigurumi? Your daughter is a lovely young woman; she is well- spoken and bright, as well. You must be very proud! 😉 I am MAJOR digging the granny square runner on the table behind you. Is this a new one?? As ever, I love you, girl!
Thanks so much, Violet! This is the yarn I used: www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/paintbox-yarns-wool-mix-aran?a_aid=78bd585e. No, I've had the runner for quite some time, I need to do a video about my granny square projects!
The amigurumi is also good for playing ‘What’s Missing.’ You place several different items on a table or tray, let the child look at them, then turn his/her back while you remove an item. The child then has to figure out which item is missing
So cute! Homeschooling is the new word. Lol. I like the book! How huge! You’re work is so cute!! The latte cup is so cute. Omg! Pies! Ok my favorite. ❤️
This is such a great way to combine crochet and homeschooling! Now I really want that book!! LOL😜
It's a great book! So many cute videos! 🍕🧁🍱

One question I've been trying to answer for myself is what skill level I'm at with crochet.. do you have any good resources for that?
That's an interesting question! I found this article that may help: americancrochetassociation.blog/what-is-your-crochet-skill-level/ ❤️
