I think a lot of people forget that when you make something for "YOU" it comes out much more amazing. Often times I find artists make things for "others" which is fine, but I think the talent shines through the most when you make something you would like!
It does!!! I so enjoyed the just making process 😘
I love this!!! I think one of the reasons these kind of journals are so popular is the delight in "finding" all the secret things. Remember those wooden puzzle boxes from years ago? These are sort of the paper/fabric versions of them. Plus the sheer joy of handling something so obviously homemade. They are the antithesis of sleek, mass-produced, sterile, store bought journals. In fact, the shabbier the better! The cotton string, the pressed flowers, the used envelopes express a joy in the preciousness of resources and history. And this journal is just chock full of life, love and creativity! Thanks for sharing Tonya!

Everything about your journal inspires me! I love all the see thru elements- I can imagine peeking thru someone’s window ( your see they’d ) on a crisp fall evening. I also am intrigued by the different fabrics you used- I tend not to mix mine up as much but you have inspired me to just go for it!

Thank you for sharing the flip through of your personal journal. What fun! Like you I am not a word journaler, but love making books (or any paper crafting) The books are a good excuse for all of the ephemera, i.e. the tags, pockets, envelopes, etc. Your use of acetate is inspiring, and your combination of the materials you used is so interesting. This is the first time you have 'popped up' on YT for me. I will be watching some more of your videos.
