I've always just assumed that Scorponok's bee and Polar Claw's bat were simply hold-overs from when BW was going to use the classic characters, with this serving as their version of the cassette gimmick; which would make complete sense if Scorponok and PolarClaw were originally intended to be Soundwave and Blaster. I think the head-sculpts actually reaffirm that pretty clearly.

Cheetor is supposed to be the descendant of Bumblebee, Terrorsaur is supposed to be the descendant of Starscream, Rattrap is the descendant of Arcee and Scorponok is supposed to be the descendant of either Soundwave or G1 Scorponok while Polar Claw is supposed to be the descendant of Blaster hence the bat and the bee drones.
@rangeetch.lahiri2120 Rattrap did refer to Arcee as his "grandaunt" so perhaps? Primal was always meant to be the descendant of Prime, not Prime himself in a new body. Where was it stated that Primal was supposed to be Prime in a new body?
I think part of the reason why the figure ended up so tight despite being a reissue is that they pulled a Rattrap and recreated the mold, because the molded copyright stamp on the inside of the torso reads 2021 instead of 1996, but that might just be standard for how reissues work, I don't know.
Scorponok is a figure that I never liked as a kid because that scorpion mode does not look anything like an actual scorpion. Somehow, I got ahold of an original one not long ago, because it was dirty cheap, in perfect conditions, and was only missing a missile, and it way surpassed my expectations. Very good looking robot mode and fun in both modes. My only grip is that the bee launcher is really fragile because how thin the trigger is and because of the clear plastic, which it's a well known flaw of the toy, so I don't know why they didn't change the clear plastic for this reissue.
so far this is my only Walmart BW Reissue purchase, precisely because I never got the original and the Kingdom toy is a bit lacking. he's great, but yes the price is ridiculous. Looking forward to Wolfang as well (just picked up a clearanced Rattrap last week)
I have a faint memory of having some KO or generic toy with pincers similar to this and I remember saying that was my Scorponok because I never saw the original as a little kid, not evenin bootleg form like I saw all the first wave of BW toys here in Mexico.
His tail is his biggest weakness, if you're not careful it breaks off easily. This happened to me with my OG Scorponok. I'm happy there's a reissue from him now. I pay for im 76€ but me as BW Fan fuck the Money.
Sometimes, I would expect some random owner of a Scorponok regardless of when it came out to switch the claw arms, as I commonly see the weapon positions reversed. You think so too? And I mean, especially the vintage toy, when the Kingdom version of him can easily swap his claws because of the softer plastics than the old toy.
They would be if the Cyberbee was less hairtrigger and the stopper that does keep it in place didn't break so easily. On paper they're good and not intrusive, but in practice the bee claw completely destroys the Scorpion mode if/when it fails.
@@megatronacepticon actually, I have this figure and the cyberbee gimmick isn't bad, it's the claw that has the two red missiles you've got to be careful with.
I know they did this to make the robot mode impressive but it always makes me laugh that they made a scorpion toy the size of a lobster. If this was a brand new toy in modern-day they'd so retool it into a lobster and make it being to scale to a real lobster its gimmick.

You know honestly you should be part of the toy Making or assessing because because nothing seems perfect. Even to several other people there's always a complaint. I love every transformer ever made. I mean is there things that could be done yes what they didn't and well if we're not doing the toy examination before they go out, What is the use of getting discouraged or not Liking it no matter what
Pretty sure he was more of a blue-grey colour in the show... Also my brother's OG Scorponok toy had its Cyber Bee flushed down the toilet by our little brother. I still don't know why he did it, aside from being a stupid kid at the time...
I first thought that Kingdom Scorpinok was.....okay. Not great, but okay in light of its flaws. But this reissue blows that figure out of the water! So much so I got a second one to replace the bee claw with another missile-firing claw, as I prefer that claw’s “thumb” articulation over the bee’s overly sensitive spring gimmick.

Only optimus and megatron were intended to be old character’s. The rest of the cast was always original.

The original BW Scorponok was one of the more difficult figures to find for most collectors, so it's nice this figure got a reissue

The old molds might be un-useable, they did the same thing when they reissued cheetor a few years back with his gut gun

I remember Scorponok being short compared to the other BW toys I had, by far the shortest of my megas and comparable in size to Rhinox, a deluxe.

Just pick up scorponok at Walmart greenville tennessee for $15 and tigertron for $13 I'm happy have new copy of both

The gimmicks in this figure are fine. They don't hurt the robot or beast mode at all.
It's the intrusive gimmicks that are evil.

The bee breaking is a common issue with the mold.
It’s not that hard to swap the arms around so the screws are showing in beast mode, I did it back when I got the original like 5 years ago.

About £27 ($30) at an online store in the UK at the moment, think the Beast Wars Redos are shelfwarming a little here.
