Rhinox's extreme competence as a Predacon hints at what will eventually happen to him when he gets his Spark forcibly crammed into Tankor. He always had the opportunity to become bad, and when he eventually did go off the walls, things got real bad. At least he redeemed himself at the very very end.
I always supposed that Rhinox was consciously overplaying the Pred role but the reprogramming really did him some harm and contributed to him becoming Tankor.
I'd absolutely love to see an alternate story, where Rhinox actually succeeds in offing Megatron and becoming the new leader of the predacons. There is a lot of potential for that, imagine how Optimus Primal would start acting if he knew he had allowed this sort of thing to happen... sort of like Batman deals with his issues concerning Harvey Dent becoming Two Face.
Part of me wonders if Optimus always knew there was a psychopath brewing just under the surface of our most implacable Maximal. Probably made him stay at the base the last two seasons because it was the only way to contain him.
Nah being a pred is tough, it would drive any maximal to the same kinda crazy. Rhinox said something about it being like having to cram 3 gigs of attitude into a 2 gig harddrive.
@@ChristopherMB87 It seems the Predacon converter machine Rhinox was subjected to made his negative aspects dominant and seems to make a person a dick in general. Its unlikely Rhinox was some mental timebomb or something.
That's what happened, Megatron reprogrammed him, but also took some precautions during making Tankor. He had to make him dumb so that his full dark, intellectual personality wouldn't wake up. Should this fail, he made sure that he couldn't attack him if ever betrayed.
I ain't gonna lie to you, man. Rhinox in this episode, came up with hilarious ways to Outsmart the Predacons, makes me laugh my chassis (That's Cybertronian for Ass) off. Even the reaction to the episode by FoxitronPrime made me laugh too. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like how Optimus's plan was to simply do nothing knowing Megatron had bit off more than he could chew. Rhinox is a genius and probably smarter than even Tarantulus. Not to mention strong. As a maximal that was tempered by his gentle nature, humility, and overall lack of ambition. You take that away and he turns into a sadistic, homicidal prick as we see here.
Predacon Rhinox is a genius, I’d love to see a series where Rhinox takes over which could also possibly set up a Predacon-Maximal alliance between Megatron and the Maximals.
Because he 'wiped' the personality the second time until the Maximals dragged it to the surface. And had Tankor succeeded... well Megatron said it himself "the best victories are seasoned with Irony."
Well, all of us had gotten a sneak peek of Beast Machines with Rinox becoming a Predacon before becoming a Vehicon. Did not know that was going to happen until I saw Beast Machines.
In the original series, the same happened...messing with their recharge chambers, the Decepticons managed to recharge then with "evil energy" (you knew it was evil because the Autobots´ eyes went from blue to red) and itt took a great effort to change they back, specially Optimus Prime and his three main components.
Well in their beast modes, they are like literally almost real living creatures. So I guess it is possible to choke them to an extent. Or at least damage a mechanism that acts for breathing.
afaik transformers are composed of living metal and these are evolved versions of autobots and decepticons which made them smaller to be more energon efficient, so maybe the way their parts move are that way because their forms can allow it
Rhinox might have had the best transformation out of all of them. Especially the first one of the show when he was strapped up
That fact that Megatron tryed this twice and some how expected a different result is mind-boggling
At least he had a failsafe the second time around.
I believe that’s the definition of insanity
@@mechanwhal6590yeah, this incident was likely the inspiration for the incident.

The funnisest thing is how Optimus expected all this, like he knew this was what Rhinox would be like as a predacon lol

Isn't that kinda what happened in Beast Machines?
@@monarched Yep
Very foreshadowing on what was to come in Beast Machines for Rhinox as Tankor
4:45 his snide "Yeeeee~eeeessss" is the absolute best.

Indeed
Optimus letting Predacon Rhinox destroy the Predacons was the smartest move he ever pulled in the entire show.

Beast Wars = The best transformers show ever!
There's something strangely wholesome about the way Megatron sits with and listens to Skorponok while Skorponok relays what happened to him.
Skorponok was the most loyal of the predicons before Inferno came along. He was one of the few who didn't try to usurp Megatron.
