I actually like this concept of cars and wish more such compact cars comes in .. especially living in a city like chennai..its for those people who wants to upgrade from a bike to car. To travel peacefully in traffic within city, its just a couple starting their life, daily office commute, shopping. PS : i own a verna and i know how difficult it is for me and my wife to take it out everyday in traffic, parking issues, mileage, long travel time even a for shorter distance.
True. When more cars of this genre come, the pricing would be competitive.
This car has been priced way too high for a second car But a brilliantly made car nonetheless without compromising on build quality.
It is a lifestyle vehicle as of now.

Commet is really a city friendly car. But only problem is price, it is very high to it's commitment. It's really suitable as 2nd vehicle for city use, But Tigo comes 2L additional then this and it is also easy to handle, since it is hatchback

One small comparison. As on feb 2024 comet ev base is 6.98 ex showroom and Tiago ev MR XE is 8.6 ex showroom.
Remember that Tiago base model doesn’t even have central locking in base model. Comet ev has music system( Bluetooth) too in addition to central locking in base model itself.
So on budget, it’s just buy and drive as far as comet :)
I asked a query why auto gear in CNG version not available in one of ur earlier videos. So far no reply but at last TATA is coming with CNG Automatic

Nonsense have u tried this car . This caters to a diff audience . For urban commutes easy to manoeuvre easy to learn it us literally like driving a scooter so zero learning curve no driver expense for old couples for people who dont know to drive , almost negligible fuel expense and 0 if u have solar power . Easy turn radius easy to park simplified to max and the interiors build quality are 100 times better than a tiago go n try this out first and then blabber
Sir why car company r not launching auto transmission system cars in cng (lpg) models please make one details video....
If you see the power figures of same engine in petrol and cng, there's notable difference in power,which may cause issues in gear shifting. So the same ecu may need two state of tunes for both the fuel,which is costly i think. Also a solution for this is to ride in manual mode,but again,only a small minority rides an amt car in manual mode. So that's why,may be..

EV long way to go. My EV scooter suddenly not moved yesterday night and dealer not picked my call. Got struck but managed somehow to reach home. If it is ICE we can manage with road side mechanic. Support is long way to go.
Exactly... EV infrastructure and service is a problem & with that added cost to an EV is yet to be justified atleast with cars.
When Technology upgrades.. changes ... You need to upgrade your knowledge also. You need to know basic is how your ev scooter works. That will keep you to handle such bad situations in better manner. You need to know where is the MCB , battery voltage level , how to measure it ect.

You said 8 YEARS WARRANTY for Battery motor pack ( Refer 9:40 ).Are you sure ?. I think motor is covered only by the regular 3 year warranty. Battery comes with 8 year warranty.
I'm a tata fan,but the quality issues,and service issues are getting increased day by day and there are many issues with tata's electric cars as well. Eventhough i am a fan, I won't risk it because peace of mind is something that i prefer when it comes to automobile..MG cars are good in terms of build, there's a crash video of mg comet with some other car,and it is safe . Tiago is a car ,i agree, but it should run to fulfill that ,no?

We, as southern people, never discriminate against Chinese products in a political sense but rather in terms of quality. Still, in our minds, we believe that Chinese products are cheap, but that’s not true. China still produces great quality brands that we aren’t aware of.
I think Comet is targeted towards people who buy a second car for their home for city use. Using Comet as your only car doesn't make sense.
I like Electric Cars. But affordable options are very minimal and are mostly city driven. I want to buy Tata EV Cars but apprehensive of reliability. Further I have one doubt about how long will an EV lasts? They give 8 years warranty. If I have to replace the battery after 8 years it will be a huge cost. Do EV have any resale value? I am also hearing that Tata service is poor. Their EV service centres are not the best nor do they help solve problems as they do not have experience in repairs of EV cars. A mini car like the compact is helpful for city driving and single driving. So to take the family of 4 out I have to buy another car.
So is it worth buying an EV now.

If they could reduce some unnecessary luxury features and reduce the cost (biggest drawback) , there might be some good numbers. As a common man perspective, we would think as we need to get more for what we pay for. Which is missing in this car. Also this car is good for second car for those who alreo has luxury cars and want to commute to office hassle free. Definitely not for those who are upgrading from two wheeler. Also some changes is definitely required on the outer designdesign ( example nissan Dayz or Mitsubishi ek x - global platform looks better)
why do we need comet? Tiago EV is a better choice

Spending 10 lacs for this car? There is no fast- charging system & it takes 5 hrs to get fully charged. A single charge one can drive max 200+km. After 5-6 yrs one should consider replacing battery at exorbitant rates. As it is fully electric, one should worry about rodent menace.
MG gives 8 years Warranty for battery. Aside from that it is not that the battery is going to die instantly on completion of 8 yrs.MG comet's global version has been sold in good numbers.
If one runs about 50-60 kms daily the saving petrol cost will be substantial that can fund battery replacement after 8 years & after 8 years battery price will be substantially low.
For example instead of buying celerio AT at about 8 lacs if one buys the MG comet base variant then the saving could be substantial.
The catch is the motor warranty that is 3 years only.
I am not sure how much it will cost.
All in all it will be a great car for specific set of people and no so for common man.
Rodent menace is a different ball game altogether.... very irritating. It has played havoc in ICE engines too costing heavily on repairs.
Rodent menace- in a span of 15 years, I spent around 10k to get electrical repairs for a small car viz Alto. Assume the damage & cost involved if it is for an EV
I think alto k10 is better then comet, I know MG comet is electric. Just saying, with boot space and 24kmpl alto k10 is better

Wheel size should have been larger 14"
Ground clearance must be higher

It is very difficult to get a buy-in for this car in chennai.
It definitely is an excellent vehicle for the purpose, but not an everybody's car like i20 or Baleno.MG had done everything very well excepting pricing.Probably they don't want to sell it to Tom dick & harry.
This must at least have been priced at par with Alto... I think 6l on road would have been a sweet spot.For a second car 10 L is bit too much...
