idea: a series that looks at the debut of new musicians specifically and figures out what potential they have and what their marketing teams are doing for just their debut. you already did something similar with olivia, and i think it would work really well with lil nas x also.
You could also add to that musicians attempting to break through the American market that have made it in other countries (I know she's done a few with Brit artist like Little Mix).

Ariana has always been respectful of her peers. I think Nicki‘s industry advice has helped her and I think Nickis music has inspired her. She was able to dive more into R&B and hip-hop due in-part to her relation to Nicki and to her black audience. She and Nicki Minaj are the best selling female duo of all time and I think that’s amazing since they only have six songs together. I love watching ariana develop as an artist and she really is so close to legendary status. She’s not even 30 yet! Crazy things to come and a long career ahead of her.
I think after Positions the Black community switched in her favor too. Black Woman and Black Gays seemed to have loved her ever since! 😍 That’s when I found that the Arianators started to get more funny too 😭

the truth is, the only reason ariana made it this far is her mom. she’s so lucky her mom obviously has ariana’s best interest at heart, you literally see her mom with her every where she goes. every where. you don’t see that with any other artist. if ariana was alone in this, or her mom pushed her into this bc she wanted to make money off ariana’s talent, ariana probably would have lost it a long time ago and with how eventful her life has been and the endless pressure, she would have been, at best, a B list celebrity. she is obviously extremely sensitive and couldn’t handle the cruelty of the music industry if no one believed in her and supported her through it all. her family is her backbone. she knows this too, that’s why she’s always grateful. it’s so hard to stay in the game and her mom/family always made it worthwhile/easier for her. the whole branding thing is just a marketing strategy that could have been applied to any teen with a little bit of talent and charisma.

She's like 1 reinvention away from being there. I can see her next album bringing her to legendary status. "Positions" is an incredible body of work, but let's be real... It's her "4" or "Lover". She deserves another blockbuster success. Something truly iconic.

I originally knew Ari from watching Victorious, but was listening to her covers and loops and such on her youtube channel, I remember I kept checking in to see if she had new covers and bam yours truly came out!!! favorite era was My Everything where I bought a meet and greet and was front row at her concert!!! was the biggest fan ever. I loved her cause she was feminine, she was different from other pop artists. The crazy talent obviously!!! And how she stood up for other artists encouraging them to be who they want to be. She's always been a woman of respect and humility. And the great sense of humor! Halfway through the dangerous woman era, I started noticing the blaccent, and bits of blackfishing which are now really noticable, also the work she had done on herself. Couldn't get myself over it. But still like her as a person, like her music. Just not a crazy fan anymore.
As an Aussie I really like her music she's not my fave artist but still really like her music but I just find it so ODD she's only ever toured here once & that was for dangerous women. She's always charted here & had hits she's pretty big so I don't get why her team or label don't make her tour down here. I wasn't able to see her on tour bc I was out of Sydney during then as I was in Melbourne but the Melbourne concert was already before that so I couldn't see any of them.

Personally, I think a lot of their success comes from 2NE1 disbanding and an open market available for YG Ent's next big girl group. They became the gen-z version of 2NE1 (I'm not saying they are similar or a copy, lol I cant explain it) but they filled a gap in the market. SNSD, 2NE1, T-ara, a lot of the 2nd gen big groups pretty much died out and paved the way for a new era of girl groups like Twice, Blackpink, etc. With 2NE1 dying out, YG were able to put their focus and money on to BlackPink.
