Soooo glad that someone made a video on how braindead boars are. Having access to two classes worth of cards, a tracking every turn and an inevitable wincon that synergizes with a shitton of treasures is absurd.

This talk still confuses me. It's so stupid.
The idea is that there's a chance that picking the bomb now instead of later won't actually mean you take more damage, but leaving them in will clog up your discover options so you have less choices other than bomb. So if there was some reason it was better to take damage now, like if you had healing, or if the other options you could pick were bad and you wanted to roll something else, it could be correct to choose the bomb and take 5 damage just to get it out of the deck.
@@driftwisp2797But to be clear that is not the reason why he would have done it in the first place, he thought you could discover 3 bombs at once and it would be good to minimize the chance this happening later, where more bombs are in the deck and the chance of getting one turn killed by 10 bombs in a row is higher. But because you can not discover 3 bombs (I think?) this is nonsense.

By reducing the amount of bombs early there is a smaller chance of hitting 3 bombs in a discover later, where chances are you are getting one shot by all bombs in your deck in a row, no? I know that Drift Wisp´s points are also true, I only wanted to mention it.

@ 49:07 They're considered two separate boars (as shown on the deck tracker) even tho they're both 3/3s because one is from the original set that was buffed by +2/2 by Warsong Wrangler while the other was made into a 3/3 copy inserted into the deck through Northshire Farmer.

Nah, the thing is because you are discovering from your deck, there are some situations where getting 3 different cards is impossible, so to deal with that they probably just made so that the "discover from a pool of 3 different cards" rule don't apply in this situation (where you discover from your deck).

Doesn't Warsong Wrangler only give +2/+1, meaning that they must have both been Northshire Farmer boars? The golden boar was probably from the golden Farmer.

At game 10 I was super impressed with fight druid manage to give been at 1 mana for several turns
I feel like duels might be more interesting if you drafted a deck at the start instead of constructing one. Then a deck like this would still be cool instead of getting so much hate. Plus it would keep things much more fresh

@@Somerandomguy524 There are no treasures in arena. There is no incremental deck changing after every match in arena. They are not the same.
I exclusively play Spell Shaman, Secret/Holy Paladin, and Demon Warlock just to balance out the ratio in duels. There are so many druids and boars….something’s gotta be done

50:44 as someone who has played the solo adventure you can 100% get the same card offered twice. There’s an enemy that shuffles cast when drawn card that destroys the top 2 cards of your deck and eventually Brann will be forced to discover on of them.
This happened during the last bomb warrior matchup, mystery solved

The problem I have with boar is that, once you complete the 7, every single boar provides a refresh, so it's literally impossible to keep playing after they get the sword. I had a wild game where I got off Luna's Pocket Galaxy and had lots of high value 1 cost minions coming up, but I NEVER got out of 1 mana because he refreshed his sword every other turn.
It should either be a 1 time thing OR require 7 per sword.
The thing is you would have to make this change only for duels then, as getting sword #2 is sometimes necessary in the boar priest deck in standard. And that is nowhere near nerf worthy
@@sirnick12 Even if we only use cards currently available in standard, it absolutely is possible to summon more than 14 Elwin Boars in 1 game as Hunter. That's two swords- and you have multiple turns of your opponent doing jack and shit unless they're a Celestial Alignment Druid, which is it's own problem.
I like how crowleys concede quote is "You have outplayed me" when that objectively is not what happened lmao.
My favorite thing about Duels is that the Boar package is called Live to Win :)
I started getting Regis videos in my suggestions around Barrens, he does lots of Duels content and I didn't expect to like playing as much as I do. Currently 5-1 on a fresh run with Drek'thar and have 5 C'thun in my deck.

Played a mind tether priest deck the other day and had so much fun face rolling boar decks from 9-12 wins by just playing spells and watching them have no board to interact with

What if everything was the same but instead of the boar counter going to 8/7, 9/7, etc and getting a new sword for every boar the counter resets to 0/7? Still OP but not banworthy?
A) Blizzard does not balance cards around duels. This would nerf boar priest which uses Xyrella for sword #2.
B) Boars are not OP, they are a noob strategy. The skill ceiling is low so it is scarcely seen at high elo barring Brann, who has a much better strategy (rush)
You lose the moment they get the first sword anyway. Boars just need to be banned.
Also @protoss, that is not true at all. Boar is by far the most common deck at high elo.

My favorite duels deck is me playing warlock and looping defile with brittle bones passive(summons volatile skeleton when u destroy minions with spells) infinitely. easy turn 3 lethal
Just like the original South Park Sword, the HS Duels Sword is considered too strong to stay around, and will get removed from the game.

I was recently googling if anyone else thought boars in duels were a little braindead and was shocked that no one else hated them lmao, yeah they started as a cute meme but it's one of the most unfun and stupid decks to play against - there's literally nothing you can do, unless you have 10 transform cards for some reason - you just hope they get bad draws and play all you can, as fast as possible

I just searched 'hearthstone duels boar reddit" and it's practically all hate.
Freeze mage/shaman stops the opponent from attacking rendering the sword worthless, burn/combo decks can just ignore the board, and any deck can take an ancient reflections to beat them at their own game. It's a good strategy to troll noobs but at higher ranks falls off hard as skill expression catches up to "me draft and play boar"

I feel like the best way to balance this deck would simply have the boar counter reset, instead of having EVERY BOAR give you the sword again. It's not like the deck will run out of boars if played correctly.
It's not inherently worse to be forced to pick a bomb later in the game. 2/3 bombs is the same as drawing a card which is the same as drawing a bomb not considering the 5 damage. The one reason (which you should've mentioned if this was your reasoning) is the card that doubles bombs in your deck but even then I think the effect is negligible
if you're forced to pick bombs late when there's more bombs in your deck you could trigger a bomb chain. If you pick some bombs earlier it's less likely that you are forced to pick a bomb late risking triggering a bomb chain.

What is bad about a bomb chain is that there's a risk that you take a lot of damage.

I didn't argue that you should pick bombs early rather than cards that support your win condition. I argue that there's an upside to picking bombs early.
@@tarkamlokar9709 but any bombs in that bomb chain are just damage you would have taken earlier. If you manage to always pick the bomb, you take the same amount of damage overall if you manage to leave all of them until the end. These are the two ends of the continuum. But most games don't last that long, so you usually take less damage if you manage to leave all of them until the end. You also have to consider that the more damage your hero takes, the more you have to worry that your opponent has lethal. Or another way to look at it: would you rather do five damage to the face each turn, or one hundred and fifty damage when your opponent runs out of cards? It might make a difference if you have good healing, or your opponent has bomb synergy, but how does it help you in this ideal example? Why does it make a difference if you draw bombs one at a time as opposed to all at once?

It looks like but mummy Magic is better because you can get the 4 Mana Treasure and dump that on your or your enemys boar then clear and win by turn 3-4. Shadowstep is too slow but a lot more fun i would pick shadowstep over Mummy Magic

I just realized that Elwyn Boar’s flavor comes directly from that South Park WoW episode. If I recall correctly, they had to kill thousands of boars in WoW to grind and level up to beat the no lifer, and then eventually were granted the sword

I can’t play duels. Always everytime it starts to seriously bug out my entire game , menus. Crashing. Everything. Duels mode is very very buggy
