Great video, Fiorella! When we had our house in Molise, we never felt isolated, in spite of living in a tiny village. Compobasso was only 20 minutes away. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, little to no crime and wonderful neighbors. You and Aden are very fortunate living in Montecilfone. So happy for you!
Thank you for all this wonderful information! Thanks to your terrific videos, Molise is now an area we’re interested in for our Italian holiday/retirement home. We’d like to buy a place in the next year or so - hopefully sooner rather later. Love that you are so close to the sea!
Great video - very helpful to do our own comparisons of time. One thing about the ATM at the posta italiana: we have used their ATM with our N26 card, with our Wise card and even with our North American bank card and in each case, we successfully withdrew 200€ and we don’t have an account with Posta Italiana. Post pandemic, I find we are using cash very rarely in North America but it is still very much worthwhile having currency in small-town Italy.
How exciting! The historical centre of Larino is beautiful and the town itself has everything you need! Have you seen Larino around Christmas time? Their Xmas lights are famous in the area! We made a video about it you may enjoy 👉 th-cam.com/video/fejCrA2G6h4/w-d-xo.html
Ciao Fiorella! I know exactly what you mean as we also have such a convenient little village with everything within minutes. In Sydney, I have to get in a car and drive constantly, in bad traffic as well, most of the time! If I get in the car in Tuscany to drive somewhere, it's stunning views and no traffic basically...what a difference! I love it and prefer to deal with individual shop owners than shop in huge shopping malls! It's a far more personal experience in my opinion. Great video! 🥰😍🤗😘
Thank you so much Fiorella, this is a good educational video of the way it is in Italy, they way of life. I bet its great for your health to walk everywhere, unless is pouring and you are forced to take the car.
Very helpful information. Thank you. We visited a small hilltown last year & saw basically the same distance & travel time to Scalea & the beaches. I viewed it the same way, like a suburb in the US.
Thanks for the info Fiorella and Aden,as long as you are not too isolated then you have made a very wise move to Italy with the improvement to quality of life✌🏿☕️🐶
One more question. How easy it would be to rent a little house in one of these small towns for a period of 6 months? We are planning to live in Italy for at least 2 years, but staying every 6 months in a different area of the Country, and exploring the specific region from there. By the way. Your videos are REALLY good. Very well done.
Hi Claudiano, short term rentals are not easy to come by unless they're on places like booking.com or Airbnb. Perhaps try the big realestates as they may have a big pool of rentals
Thank you so much for this video! It answered quite a few questions that I had. I was also wanting to know about your internet and wifi. Is it fast and does it cost a lot? Thank you again. I would enjoy more videos like this in the future as well.
Hi Rene, it depends. Optic Fibre has arrived to our town but we haven't tried it. We tether from our phones and it has worked for us very well to work, to stream television, etc. As each town may have different reception Vodafone, TIM, Iliad are good websites to check for cover.
This is so Spooky, you literally lived a few kilometers from me in Brisbane, I probably would have passed you guys at the shops. I used to live at Yeronga on the street behind the pie shop opposite the railway station. My family is from Molise but I am looking at buying in the North near Bergamo because I am worried the internet will not be that good in the Molise region as I work in IT and need good internet. How are the internet speeds where you live ?
LOL that's so funny Shaun! We used to go the pie shop on Sundays for breakfast. I'm missing their chunky stake and pepper pie 🥧 so much! Please don't disregard other areas of Italy but if you do like an area check if they have fiber. We have installed Fiber recently and it's the fastest we've ever had, even in OZ. I just did a speed test and got 581Mbps Download and 185 Mbps Upload. I should be doing a video about it soon :)
Very informative. For me it is more complicated. I am single and speak no Italian. There are difference comparisons for this situation. I know I could do all of my shopping and the like but would I have friends?
Hi Eric. I think it depends on where you go and how you open yourself to the people in the community you choose to live in. It is said that people in the South of Italy are warmer and the people in the North more closed off. I guess it goes with the territory of having bigger cities, plus their cultural background is different. I think speaking Italian does help, but a good attitude can be translated to any language 😉
Half the people I know wishing to buy a 2nd home in Italy are aware they are greatly restricted by the amount of time they're allowed to stay in a schengen area. Most people from the UK are allowed 3 months in Italy and then they need to leave for six months before they can return. Which isn't perfect. How are you coping coming in from Australia?
Hi GA. We moved hear for various reasons. I should make a video about it again soon, especially since we have been here for about 14 months. It would be good to do a re-cap
Exactly what I was thinking. Why would you move from Australia and go to all the trouble of citizenship. I was born in Italy and left when I was 8 years old so don’t remember much. It is a beautiful country and I could easily live there very well with all my years of work (over 43 years) and still working. I don’t think I could ever get accustomed to that life coming from the US but then again I could be wrong. When you’ve lived in one place for so many years, it’s hard to go back besides I would never leave my children and hopefully grandchildren in the future.
Hi Claudiano. There is free parking near the train station in Termoli. You can identify free parking as the lines are white instead of blue. Blue parking is metered so you have to pay and place the ticket on the window.
I want to buy a remote house in Italy, I like the quiet and want to escape England's weather grey skies that the airlines kindly make for us every day. What is the first thing I need to get so I can apply to Italy to move.?
@@proteus1 We do have sun in the area. Winter's are mild. You need to do your research as to what requirements you need to meet depending on your particular circumstances
Hi Tati. It depends on your lifestyle and what your kids are used to. Do they enjoy big malls, concerts, etc? If so, they may get bored as in the area there aren't big shopping centres like the ones we are used to. Concerts and many activities are usually more frequent in the summer months. We don't have kids and we like a quieter lifestyle while still being connected so it works for us.
Ciao❤ grazie da Texas come sempre
I love how you can walk everywhere, the more you show me the more I love!

We feel the same. It is amazing how even if you live in a small town, you are always connected to bigger hubs.

Thank you so much for watching
I find it city vs country life. Busy vs quiet lifestyle. Fiorella n aiden I think you have your peace. 👍

Hi Angie, that's good to know.
We tried with a couple of local cards and it didn't work, but did not try with Wise!
Thanks 👍
Excelente información, mil gracias Fiorella.
Con gusto 😀

Glad it was helpful Mary
We are in the process of buying a second home in historic district of Larino and your videos are very helpful in understanding the area. Thanks!

We really enjoy it Christine 😉
Great video and info. Where I live, we drive everywhere in the city
That's what I thought would be the case for most people, so all in all, to me it's not a big difference
Fiorella thank you ❤from the heart. I love to look around at the beautiful buildings while you walk. A Sunday trip to Bella italia
I'm glad you appreciate it Katerina.
I love making these videos ❤️

Hi Becky, I had the feeling it was very similar in Calabria and along the coast. Thanks for your insights 😉
That was an excellent video. It answered so many questions and showed how similar it is to the town I live in.
Glad it was helpful Jeff ☀️
Excellent information.
Thanks Louis
I think you did just fine with your move.
We think so too Reet
Foggia airport also has good domestic connections
Thanks 👍
This is such a great video to explain the bits about doing everyday tasks.
Thank you Suzanne. I'm glad you found it useful 😉

Thanks Paul. We feel very close to everything we need while enjoying a calm environment and the support and warmth of a small community ❤️
Thank you, Fiorella! Very informative video. We went to that same pastry shop in the small piazza in Termoli - so much variety!
It really has a lot to choose from Nancy!

Hi Tim Termoli is a beautiful city. If someone prefers a busier town/city and has a higher budget, Termoli would be a great place to live in
