Be still my heart. How I love those dam ships - the varied entertainment, the feel, the food, the tranquity, the everything - a legitimate cruising experience. I'm too shy to speak to any of the officers, though. I scuttle past them as fast as I can, lol
It's 9 months since you made this video but thank you for showing what the Noordam looks like now. We've done four cruises on the lovely Noordam, the last being nearly five years ago (Covid and all that) and we are embarking on our next cruise on the Noordam on 10th December 2023. Very much looking forward to being on board again.
Hi Tony, it seems like this cruise went really fast considering it was 12 day's long. The music that was playing as you went by the Lincoln theater sounded like something you would have at Lincoln center in NYC. It definitely looks like "Old School" cruising . Almost to fancy for me. Great tour of a beautiful ship! As always, thank you for all you do! Safe travels home.
Thank you Tony for this detailed walking tour...what great info for those considering or planning a cruise on this ship. This is the best!!! I did note the lack of music everywhere....you can hear the sea....HAL definitely not for the party crowd...so nice to see the clear blue skies and people finding nice quiet spots to enjoy the views.Tony thanks again for a most detailed tour and clearly you have a respect for the older ships and their history.
@@kathleenhudson8429 yes I realilze that..but it is different in not having it blasting at every venue all day....for me that is a real selling feature for HAL.
Holland America gets a bad wrap for having an older demographic, but they are awesome especially in Alaska. The pool area works really well with the covered roof.
Tony Great tour. I sailed on the Westerdam on an Alaskan tour. Great ship loaded with art and great entertainment. Holland America is a cruise line for classy people not “old” as some believe.
Great video!!! I love HAL ships. The layout/design is very similar on the older ships. Once you go on on one, it’s like coming home-you don’t spend a week trying to learn a new ship. I’m so glad you are giving them coverage. I hope you are invited to more press trips for HAL. It is VERY challenging to find TH-cam videos for HAL ships. They need to show that their cruises aren’t just for grandma and grandpa anymore!!
I dont know it got that reputation. I used to sail HAL in my late 20s early 30s …30 some years ago😂and loved it. I enjoyed the walking tour and yes I am one of those who could do away with the loud ‘Jams’. Just hearing the ocean and watching the wake baby…and interesting ports, my idea of cruising, thx Tony🚢😊
I love all the outside deck areas. I'm done with roller coasters, water slides, bumper cars etc.😊 Going on my first HAL cruise in March and looking forward to more "old school" cruising.
I agree with you. Roller coasters, race cars, and mega slides are for families with kids. My 3 are grown and on their own, so now I just want to relax.
Beautiful! Thank you for the great walking tour! We love Holland America, our line of choice, but haven't yet been on the Noordam. So sad to hear Lincoln Center Stage is going away, though.
Thank you for this tour! It was absolutely amazing. We started our cruising life with HAL in 2006 and absolutely loved the Noordam. It’s great to see that they are still delivering a quality experience. We switched over to RCL several years ago primarily for the loyalty program, but definitely will be cruising for destinations with HAL in the future, it was lovely to see the subdued experience again! RCL’s mega ships are fun for a time, but I think it’s time for smaller ones. Thanks, Tony!
I am wondering what I am missing. Other than 4 drinks free per day I got nothing out of that loyalty program. Is it worth choosing a cruise line over the 4 drinks per day ? thats worth like $25 to me MAX per day
@@ryanmatthew511 Oh yes, I agree with you. We primarily switched to RCL because we have friends/family that prefer that line, and have enjoyed it. There used to be more benefits to being at the Diamond/Diamond+ levels, but there are still some that are worthwhile, I.e., some free internet, free laundry, discounts on specialty dining, etc., etc. Actually haven’t ever been miserable on any cruise, there are pros/cons to everything. Enjoy!
hi Tony, I loved your tour. Thank you. I definately need to go back. I was on the Konningsdam and loved it. Also, a mix of ages. The food and service was phonominal. I can't say enough good things. I'll be back :)
I am a relatively new cruiser (5 cruises in the last year) and have only cruised on HAL - 4 of their ships so far. Goal is to cruise at least once on all of their ships. Thanks for the tour; I look forward to someday cruising on the Noordam!!
My son and his wife are on the Noordam in New Zealand now. Because I suffer badly with motion sickness, I don't go cruising any more. I am 80 now. Watching your great video tour of the ship, I feel like I am cruising with them. Thanks heaps Tony.
This is a very good ship tour Tony. Thank you. The ship vibe is fresh indeed and it makes us think outside of our previous preference (Princess) for small / mid size ship cruising. LOVE the promenade - many new ships don’t have them.
Yes, Holland American ships are great. The nautical ship paintings in the stairwells are by Stephen Card. He has numerous paintings on all the HAL ships. Thank you for the walking tour on the ship. .
Thanx for the tour of the Noordam. It is quite similar to Eurodam, which is the ship I sailed on. A few differences. I also thought the food was excellent. The big difference for me comparing HAL to Carnival...the food, the service and the overall cleanliness of the ship. I absolutely loved it and would 100% sail with HAL again.
Wow! Love your tour of this Holland America cruise ship. This is what a classic yet modern cruise is all about, a modern twist in traditional cruising. Its laid back, relaxing, and serene. It's not sensory overload as many of the maga cruise ships with pop music blasting at every turn. It's a stark contrast to today's mega ships. I love the carpet in the public spaces, especially the blue carpet with the flowers that lead to the 3 story performance venue. I love the side elevators and that there is a promenade deck. Thats something i enjoy on every cruise, getting my steps in on the promenade deck with the ocean air to breathe in and the views. I also love the music walk, lostening to lobe mjsic at night is most appealing to me. Back in the 90s the word was Hollands food was bland, but I know theire food has improved over the past 10 years. Its another reason to cruise with Holland. You've sold me on this Holland cruise ship. Thanks so much, Tony! 🎉
Thanks for this! I will be on the Noordam in May to Alaska. This will be my first Holland America cruise. I've been on Carnival, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Disney and MSC and am looking forward to adding Holland America to my list.😊

Thanks for doing the tour. I think I'm on the Noordam for a cruise out of Vancouver north to Alaska. I like the reviews I've read both about HAL and this ship. Nice and small.
Thank you for the tour, it looks beautiful. I sailed on the former Noordam about 20 some years ago, right before it was sold, and it's nice to see the ship that replaced it. Love how it still has a full rap around promenade for strolling.
Thanks for the tour of Noordam. It was the first HAL ship I sailed on in 2011. Beautiful decor, great crew & service. Have sailed on Koningsdam since, then will be sailing on the Rotterdam in March. Excited to be back at sea. Happy cruising!

Nice tour Tony. We cruised on Noordam for 2 weeks in September and really enjoyed our cruise on her. HAL s our favourite line and has never disappointed us.
Thanks Tony, was excited to see your video cause we're sailing on the Noordam in September to Alaska. Looks like the Westerdam we were on last year. We're also on the Rotterdam in April of this year, so we get to compare different classes of HAL ships. Thanks again
Hi Tony. Thanks for that terrific tour of the ship. As they say, all good things come to an end. In spite of the weather it looks like you had a wonderful cruise. Safe travels back home. ❤️❤️
Loved your tour of the Noordam. We board the Oosterdam (sister ship to Noordam) in 2 weeks to go to South America and Antarctica. Can’t wait. Glad to hear the food was excellent. I loved these dam ships 😊
I will be on the Koningsdam the end of January. Will be doing the 18 day cruise San Diego to Hawaii. Will be my second Holland American ship. Can’t wait. 😊
Thank you for this ship tour. I took the Zaandam last fall from Boston to Quebec and this ship is a bit bigger. I look forward to cruising on the Noordam. I like the mid size ships and this looks great. I really liked the food on HAL and the retractable roof is great. I had the Nathan hot dogs a few times for lunch. Yummy
Thanks, Tony. I like Holland America, especially the old world charm. The first time I cruised with them, they still had a real library with easy chairs looking out to sea--I miss that. I'm cruising on the Noordam next month and look forward to the Rolling Stone Club, although I loved the blues music at BB King's, and will miss it. I also like hearing the classical music, and I'm sorry to learn that the Lincoln Center venue will be disappearing. Did you partake of afternoon tea? I hope that's still happening. Also, I love the interesting breakfasts from around the world available in the main restaurant (Japanese, India Indian, Swedish Pancakes). And I like the deck with the teak promenade that circles the ship.
Great ship tour thanks! 😁 Just watched it today because we put a deposit on a holiday/cruise in Japan in 2025 in cherry blossom season. We were on the Westerdam from Sydney to Singapore in January this year and loved it so very keen to go on the Noordam in 2025. We love Japan! 🌺
Great tour Tony, thanks heaps for that. We are booked on the Noordam for January next year and your detailed walk through has already given me my bearings. Cheers.
Thanks for doing this Tony. Great walk around. I go on this ship in September to Alaska and have been wanting to get a good tour of it. Can’t wait to go. Thanks again and safe travels back home.
In May 2012 we were on that ship for a transatlantic from Ft Lauderdale to Rome. It was a repositioning cruise. We stopped in 5 ports not counting Rome. It was a great cruise. The service was excellent. A classy cruiseline.
Love these ships. I took the Oosterdam thru the Panama Canal right before cov. Love Holland America, the suites have room service breakfast that is the absolutely best way to start every day.
This ship reminds me of the Eurodam and the Oosterdam. Same kind of layout. Thanks for the tour. BTW- not to be critical or a SA, The matts in the first part of the tour are showing nautical guides. The Green arrow pointing forward indicate which way is forward and the Starboard or right side of the ship when facing forward. The red arrow indicate the Port side. Ships have lighting that indicate this so that other ships can tell which way a ship is traveling at night. Green on the left it is coming at you... Red on the left it is going away from you. Great video. Love your show.
Thank you for sharing this amazing voyage these past 2 weeks! I've been watching both your and Don T's channels throughout. Wonderful coverage and hope to visit there sometime. PS - check the spelling in your title (Lane VS Line?)
Thanks for the press tour. Perfect description of the ship. Sailing with my mom in September 14 day Alaska. I’m the pool gal and love the covered options on HAL. We just did the Panama Canal February sailing on the Zaandam. This size is so personal and relaxing.
Looks almost identical to P&O's Arcadia. A few differences, such as Arcadia has another deck, just in the middle (behind & above the retractable roof), which has a lovely Bar & Oriental restaurant. It was interesting watching you walk around & being able to compare the two ships. 👍🏻
I like the size of this ship. Not too big - not too small. Didn't feel like wall to wall crowds of people. Had everything you could want.
Be still my heart. How I love those dam ships - the varied entertainment, the feel, the food, the tranquity, the everything - a legitimate cruising experience. I'm too shy to speak to any of the officers, though. I scuttle past them as fast as I can, lol
I love that HA puts the days of the week carpets in the elevators.

I have been on two of her sisters, Westerdam and Oosterdam as well as her name predecessor Noordam III. Lovely ships.
Thank you. Enjoy the cruise ship tours.
In May 2012 we were on that ship for a transatlantic from Ft Lauderdale to Rome.
It was a repositioning cruise. We stopped in 5 ports not counting Rome.
It was a great cruise. The service was excellent.
A classy cruiseline.
Cool tour. Getting on the Koningsdam today in San Diego. First time on Holland
I love your walking tours.
Love these ships. I took the Oosterdam thru the Panama Canal right before cov.
Love Holland America, the suites have room service breakfast that is the absolutely best way to start every day.
Love your ship tours tony
Even the Future Cruise Desk was in the tour. :) Thanks for the great tour Tony.
Omg Tony! Touring the ship is a workout in itself.
yes a lot of steps in this video.
Hey, Tony. I think I will definitely consider HAL thanks to your informative video. Thank you and safe flight home after Sydney.
Tony, that was a great tour; I am now exhausted!
Thank you for sharing this amazing voyage these past 2 weeks! I've been watching both your and Don T's channels throughout. Wonderful coverage and hope to visit there sometime.
PS - check the spelling in your title (Lane VS Line?)
Thanks for the heads up. Fixed it!
Awesome ship and a great tour of it, Tony!
Thank you!
Our favorite public space on Holland is the Crow's Nest. We sat in the one on the Zuiderdam for our Panama Canal passage.
Going on noordam next fall 48 day...now I know what to expect! Thank you! Was on eurodam before...great experience...
Thanks for the tour, Tony. It looks like a beautiful ship!
