Loved Joann’s review of the Mussels. Those sounded so tantalizing! And the Poffertjes look and sound ABSOLUTELY delightful. I know I would have loved those. Overall, it looks like buffet food, but I *know* I would enjoy it. Happy sailing! ~Scott
I always like your videos. I find you very real, and particularly attractive in a way that makes you more accessible. Just being who you are, regular people. It is not easy to do it your way. Congrats and continued success!
WOW! What a great video. It is obvious to me that HAL is bucking the trend of NOT cheapening out on the food. I have to admit that the food in this video looks a lot better than what we encountered on the Regal Princess which was also very good.
Such great attention to detail and to give each food item a proper showcase! Your videos should give anyone the desire to sail, especially with Holland America! Their food looks so divine! Your videos do an incredible job of capturing that! 😃
10 more days to go! I wonder if they'll have a German night on our Mexican Riviera cruise. We're so much more relaxed after watching your videos. There will be no problem finding vegan options. Thank you again. These videos are so very helpful!
Our pleasure- thanks for the comment! 😊 They might have a scaled down version of German night but yeah let us know after your cruise if you get the chance. Have a wonderful voyage!
Love "croissant wanna be", lol. I think this is just a European thing, but it seems like there are things there that I would want for lunch but not for dinner, like all that bread and the sandwiches. I love that there are freshly-made poffertges. I only eat them here less than once a year at the German-ish Christmas market
Yes that's pretty interesting that they had croissant & smoked salmon for dinner. Those freshly-made poffertjes were really tasty. Thanks for the comment! 🙂
Holland America really knows how to put on a buffet. Everything looked good except the Brussels sprouts (not a fan) 🤣 I would have gone back for seconds (maybe thirds) the day they had Thai food. There are NO good Thai restaurants near me and it’s too complicated to cook so I’m out of luck. We lived in Los Angeles for awhile and I got spoiled with authentic, delicious Thai food and I MISS IT! I’m glad Joann liked her mini pancakes!
Yeah those pancakes were especially good freshly cooked 😋 Yeah we also enjoyed how they had Thai and other Asian food every lunch and dinner buffet. Not the most authentic (e.g. their "pad thai") but tasty most of the time. Hopefully Celebrity will have some Thai food on your upcoming cruise! Thanks for the comment Sally! 😊
Thanks Angela! Those can make you feel like a little kid again lol. Nowadays he's hanging out with the other teens after we eat dinner together at the main dining 🙂
Would you say the dining room food quality surpasses that of the Lido? Some cruises it seems the quality reigns supreme in the MDR but buffet quality is lacking even with more food choices! What are your thoughts? Another great video! Thanks!😀👍
Yes for the most part, though you'll be able to try more variety at the buffet. And you're right most cruise lines actually don't have a very extensive dinner buffet, so HAL's is certainly better than most in that area. Thank you very much for the comment! 😊
@@TravelTouristVideos one more thing, is it better to go in early June or mod June to explore alaska. And which is better to visit Seward or Alyeska?. Please give your valuable suggestions.
Not a big difference, but middle June might be better as it's warmer and maybe you'll see more animals. We have not been to either one of those ports, but I think they're more transitional ports where you would continue on to a land-based tour. You can checkout what excursions are offered at each and compare.
16:31 Hello i'm watching your cannel with my wife everytime we enjoying a lot so please understand this message is not on you, on Holland America let me say it as japanese real yakitori or sukiyaki don't have peppers!! what about koya noodle!? rice sandwich doesn't exist!!! who invent these idea of super insults!? if they invent, at least they should respect original otherwise it shouldn't be written "TASTE OF JAPAN" Do Holland America chefs know Japan exist? it's not fictional country
Thanks for the comment! Completely agree with you regarding the lack of authenticity of the Taste of Japan dishes, and some of the other themes were not as well. We also found other dishes to be inaccurate, though the taste was pretty good.
Love to hear Joanne's take on the food. Such a sweetheart. Bless you all.
Thank you very much Kathy! 😊

Those mussels were fresh and well prepared, and poffertjes were a delicious treat 😋 Happy sailing & thanks for the comment Scott! 😊

Thank you so much- we really appreciate it! 😊
Food looks heavenly! Much better than what I’ve seen on other lines! The crepe station sounds intriguing.
Yeah they had some really good food, and that warm crepe with the ice cream was delicious! 😋

Thank you very much! 😊 We were impressed too by the variety and the effort they put into the different themed buffets.

Thank you very much- appreciate that! 😊 The talented, hard working chefs and cooks in galley do a great job.
I love salmon. That teriyaki glazed salmon looked so good. I’ll be looking it up on Pinterest today.
Hi Angela! Yeah that was nice they had the salmon every night. 😋

Beef tenderloin on the buffet!! I’m there!! Was that a gala evening when they had that offered?
💯! Yup night number 2 is a gala night, and so if you didn't get enough of the beef tenderloin it's also at the buffet.
She is so sweet about those Dutch pancakes. Looks like a little kid. Where is that young man at?
Thanks Angela! Those can make you feel like a little kid again lol. Nowadays he's hanging out with the other teens after we eat dinner together at the main dining 🙂
@@TravelTouristVideos growing up and finding his self. He’s handsome and might have some teenage girls giving him a little attention. 🤪🤪
Lol he'd be happy to hear that- thanks Angela! 😁

Hewo everybody.
we wnt on the Miracle to Alaska Aug 21-31 did you go as well I remember that ship for some reason in Juneau
This was actually in the Baltics & then Norway (b2b cruise), so you probably saw one of her sister ships (Koningsdam or Rotterdam).
Do they offer indian meals?
They did have some Indian dishes here and there, but it wasn't daily.

Not too appetizing in appearance. Is it the same food on all HAL cruises?
From our experience on several HAL ships, the food is pretty similar. But depending on where you're cruising, there would be some regional specials.
🛳🛳🛳
🥳
How do you keep from gaining weight. This is a glutton's heaven.
Lots of good food for sure, but taking the stairs when possible and making sure to have 10K steps daily helped! 🙂
A croissant wanna be. LOL
😁
