Amazing how no matter where you are standing in those old gold mining areas that it has almost certainly been turned up, churned up and worked by the old miners. Would KILL for that kind of gold round here! Every piece is chunky ! Absolutely a pleasure to watch and if I were around, you KNOW i would be putting in some support beams and Digging all that virgin placer material OUT !!! Talk about a gold mine! If the gold you found is any indication , i think you could spend a few months just shoveling out all the material in the mine, and have a BLAST doing it! Someday maybe i will head to Australia... just buy a trailer and roam the outback finding all the gold i can... In fact, maybe i'll save some money and do it sooner than later!

Love that place. I could spend months in that little place alone. I can't do very much in a day so it takes me longer to do it. I would dig in that mine a bit then down to see if there's anything inside it either from it being a catch point in the stream or anything that has washed out of it. Remember the old timers weren't after small bits and were only chasing very profitable veins so they wouldn't have processed where the small stuff is. Well pickers and small noogs to us who do process it for that stuff. Hope you do that for a future video. They probably missed a few good size noogs also.👍❤💛💚👊

@@johnramirez5032 All creeks and rivers are common ground in the state of NSW although its not that easy to get in with fencing and u can get an app on your phone that tells u if its common ground ,I don't know if they have that in the US

Thing is the other thing is weather or not there are protected fish areas. Prospecting is limited to panning and sluicing. Cant be hi banking in many places. Dreadging is allowed in some streams but you need a permit. So far i havent been targeted for metal detecting. Its not like i go often. Im mostly a arm chair adventurist. I lve vicariously thew videos. Lol. Sometimes ill fish and just relax. Prospecting is gard work ya know.

I had a crack at a back creek but u need a 4 wd and we got some great gold just in a couple of hrs and a nugget vid coming soon it was a tiny gully out west
It keeps destroying the banks and getting wider because it is straight without any twists and turns for the creek. If there were some twists and turns it would slow down the water and reduce the erosion to almost zero
There is not too much in the Gravel So scrape the clay and bedrock and test pans will put u on the gold ,I never go home with less than a gram for a day good luck and go hard and enjoy 😎👍

Nice video, as a TOTAL newbie I would never have thought this looked like a gold bearing region... And yet here you are pointing out gold in the ground.. Can I ask you what general region you are in?
Cool heaps of gold there see that clay it’s like wattle flat there’s gold on top of that white pipers clay the same clay they used for the wattle and Dab houses and all they brown clay catches it so there will be gold in the clay and specimens in black iron stone gold in Rosie Quartz and the white courts so look for nails iron wire led glass and black iron stone scape the first 2 inches of any clay no matter what colour and look for black magnetic 🧲 sand and stuff all of that in your pan with no sives and use red thick bunings gluv s and wash around and around in them big black plastic pans with is 10 lt of dirt under water until all ya clay balls are disolved then get the pan down to about half a cup of dirt then just quickly check it to see how much gold in there then tip all that dirt into a anther black plastic gold pan and then go do anther one until you have full up one pan or have tiped 5 hours of panining in to one pan then 40 minutes before sun gos down pan that pan into anther pan 3 or 4 times to take out all the gold and you can get more gold then using a Banksluce or cradle rocker in 4 to 5 hours
Cool I have been panning with Pete and Don Keilly many times when I was young both were great prospectors and both were very different I remember one time they came back with a trailer full of wash and great gold don’t know where they got it from though lol

The whole area is Reefy and ripped up my camera man detected 2 half grammars and some pickers in one hole and 4 meters down creek I panned a near 2 gram nugget
@@getdownanddirtyprospecting na his is just a couple of acres. Just the gully out the front and Valentine mines beside it. It's the site of the old pub when tambaroora was bustling. I have found a quartz reef right at the back of his house. May investigate it one day soon as you know it was the reefs they were chasing there. We have another family property another 5 ks or so outta town and it's surrounded by Chinese workings
That creek was also hydraulic sluiced not the best as not a great deal of water and with 170 years of flooding the walls of the creek were maybe 2 meters further and the mine was in the 1850s the sluiceing much latter and I’m sure the bedrock is about 1.5 meters deeper than the top blocks holding the roof
When I found that place I was getting 50 specks per pan lol and did 2 videos there . But there are spots around that area walking down, a bit of leg work and test panning if u get my drift .Let me know how u go cheers Glenno.
I know what you mean about patchy in that area. I saw 3 local young fellas get ounces of detectable nuggets and coarse fines out of 3 mtr long section of wall. Panning the creek all there was were the occasional speck.

You know you could narrate this video as you digging up the gold but I think the gold was planted in the pan because you dig it up you put the dirt in the pan and you cut it out on camera you don't show the gold after you did it most of your video is pointing out the side of the mountain the Rocks you're not really showing the process I look at your pan and I see planted gold because you keep using the same gold so the video is BS😢😊😂😢 4:234:254:264:28
I remember the old timers telling me about how they use to sell there worthless gold claims by putting some gold in their rolly paper cigarettes and as he panned the gold would fall into the pan lol u should view a few more of my videos and tell me what u think .my latest is a detecting video

The hydraulically sluiced areas are what's collapsing mainly and there is even gold in it as there was not a lot of water so its a clay type muck

Cool heaps of gold there see that clay it’s like wattle flat there’s gold on top of that white pipers clay the same clay they used for the wattle and Dab houses and all they brown clay catches it so there will be gold in the clay and specimens in black iron stone gold in Rosie Quartz and the white courts so look for nails iron wire led glass and black iron stone scape the first 2 inches of any clay no matter what colour and look for black magnetic 🧲 sand and stuff all of that in your pan with no sives and use red thick bunings gluv s and wash around and around in them big black plastic pans with is 10 lt of dirt under water until all ya clay balls are disolved then get the pan down to about half a cup of dirt then just quickly check it to see how much gold in there then tip all that dirt into a anther black plastic gold pan and then go do anther one until you have full up one pan or have tiped 5 hours of panining in to one pan then 40 minutes before sun gos down pan that pan into anther pan 3 or 4 times to take out all the gold and you can get more gold then using a Banksluce or cradle rocker in 4 to 5 hours
Cool I have been panning with Pete and Don Keilly many times when I was young both were great prospectors and both were very different I remember one time they came back with a trailer full of wash and great gold don’t know where they got it from though lol
That's some nice colour Glenno, well done. That creek is the large version of my little creek, mine has the diggings on the side, no stulls like that though, very interesting. Are you allowed to use a river sluice and an electric pump for water flow?

Hi Pete A sluice only when in Flood but a Rocker works well I did use a Rocker in a video there but lower down ,Im in NSW so can't use much more

Hopefully you brought a metal detector to expose the Gold reef
The whole area is Reefy and ripped up my camera man detected 2 half grammars and some pickers in one hole and 4 meters down creek I panned a near 2 gram nugget

@@getdownanddirtyprospecting na his is just a couple of acres. Just the gully out the front and Valentine mines beside it. It's the site of the old pub when tambaroora was bustling. I have found a quartz reef right at the back of his house. May investigate it one day soon as you know it was the reefs they were chasing there. We have another family property another 5 ks or so outta town and it's surrounded by Chinese workings

Glen, I don’t think those mines were full height I think they were only a 1-2 feet high being that close to the creek
That creek was also hydraulic sluiced not the best as not a great deal of water and with 170 years of flooding the walls of the creek were maybe 2 meters further and the mine was in the 1850s the sluiceing much latter and I’m sure the bedrock is about 1.5 meters deeper than the top blocks holding the roof

Went out to Sofala last weekend took rocker to the third Crossing it's a bit over grown but got in to have a shake 3 hours work for about 10 specs
When I found that place I was getting 50 specks per pan lol and did 2 videos there . But there are spots around that area walking down, a bit of leg work and test panning if u get my drift .Let me know how u go cheers Glenno.

I know what you mean about patchy in that area.
I saw 3 local young fellas get ounces of detectable nuggets and coarse fines out of 3 mtr long section of wall.
Panning the creek all there was were the occasional speck.

You know you could narrate this video as you digging up the gold but I think the gold was planted in the pan because you dig it up you put the dirt in the pan and you cut it out on camera you don't show the gold after you did it most of your video is pointing out the side of the mountain the Rocks you're not really showing the process I look at your pan and I see planted gold because you keep using the same gold so the video is BS😢😊😂😢 4:23 4:25 4:26 4:28
I remember the old timers telling me about how they use to sell there worthless gold claims by putting some gold in their rolly paper cigarettes and as he panned the gold would fall into the pan lol u should view a few more of my videos and tell me what u think .my latest is a detecting video
